i have this phone, after 6 months it gets laggy, and me and a couple of other people have been noticing dust under the screen (to the point where you cant read the text). and another is i experience dropped calls 24/7, idk if its with AT&T or this phone.I cannot wait to get my iphone 4 upgrade in July.

nokia has always been very sturdy, but you'll get better options with a blackberry device, even if you dont have 3g such as a 8520 curve which i currently use but is far greater then the e71. Dont waste your dollars go for the blackberry my upgrade will be here in 3 days bold 9700. I'll go RIM route no comparison

Hey, my name is brandon and i have the same phone as that. the E71x. I went to the beach and I tripped on some rocks and fell in the water with my phone in my pocket. I looked up my phone and it's under warranty. THANK GOD!. But, I heard that ATT doesn't cover water damaged phones. I also heard that ATT opens up the battery cover, takes out the battery and sees a sticker? can you pleaase tell me if the sticker is white, im safe? wat color was it when you saw it?

It's only water damaged when it's pink. If it's white, they SHOULD replace it.

@marquezbrandon That's true...att warranty will not replace water damaged phones. when u call the company asking for a replacement they will ask u to open up the phone and check the sticker. if the sticker is red that means it was water damaged, otherwise it should be white.

Get the Tilt 2. I do like Symbian OS better than Windows Mobile, but WiMo 6.5 does look really good, and this phone isn't capable of using Symbian's full potential. They're both very good phones, though. I just prefer the Tilt 2.

I just got my Samsung Eternity and it's great! However, I must admit I'm a little envious of you E71x owners. You guys get a camera flash and nice metal finish. No flash and a chintzy plastic back on the Eternity. Eh. But I do LOVE the touch qwerty pad compared to blackberry's smaller physical pads.

Hopefully Nokia comes up with a E71x fully touch screen in the future to combine these two great phones.

The customizable homescreen that was also on the E71 where you could show email updates and the search bar and WLAN scanning, as well as the icons for a text message, missed call, and voice message are missing as well. It's REALLY unfortunate this software was changed so much. Consumers would have been very impressed by the functionality otherwise.

AT&T is really stupid when it comes to Nokia phones and they way they change the software. It really seems like they took the 6650 software and simply loaded it onto this and made the 1-touch keys work to one extent or another. I really can't believe they took WinZip off. And do you mean to tell me that hitting just * or # in the browser doesn't zoom in or out like the E71?

Then you've never held one in your hand. This is a very well built phone with a full metal body minus a few plastic areas. You really should go try one out. It's just too bad that AT&T ruined the software and took out all the Eseries features the E71 has.

I don't like all the apps loaded up and the redesign, although the active standby for fp2 is really nice. I use the long presses a lot, so that's a bummer that it was taken away. But I love that you were able to view flash videos on the browser and even have it play in full screen with controls when you clicked on the video, something the E71 lacked.

But overall, I think I'd still stick with my E71 even though it cost more.

E71 has the same flash support, so there is no difference between the E71 and E71x in playing youtube videos (I have E71 and have used it for youtube and other flash videos many times)
