A friend of mine his name is malachi. He loved his name and i have a braclet that says support malachi because he had cancer and honestly I think Malachi should mean fighter mainly because he won his battle aginst it. But six months ago it came back and claimed his life so malachi is a special name to me.
My cousin's name is Malachi. His was the first time that I had heard the name, but I love it. Also, there are a lot of Isaac's recently. I would have liked to see Esther. Love that name.
nooo i wish i could change my name..its Daniel its such a common name -____-
my mom was gonna name me Aaron but my grandma didn't like it ,but then my dad was gonna name me Jamil but they all decided to name me Daniel in the end...nooooo i would have taken anything but Daniel..Oh well
what do you think of a place name?? Israel is a very used name in Mexico. It suonds very modern, and I always think of an easygoing, good-looking guy.
must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947.then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message.the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him.if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and past
I love the name Malachi since I heard it in the movie Angela's Ashes, but there both As are pronounced as in Mara and the I as ee. Probably the Irish pronounciation.
I lovee the name Joel it's my cousins name and he is just adorable so ya I'm pretty Bias with the name but I think i may use it as a middle name for my son when i get older August Joel what do ya think?
I've watched this video so many times because I love love love biblical names but I think you should look at the name "Dorcas" it means Gazelle but its very overlooked and its hidden in the text (of the bible).
I love love love the name Asher, and the nickname Ash, but i don't think i could handle all the pokemon references...but that's a stupid reason not to pick a name i really like... what now?
My name is Rebecca (it was going to me Noah, until I was born, and they found out I was a girl).
Rebekah was the wife of Isaac, from the Bible, and it means a "A Rope With A Noose". I sort of wish that I spelled it “Rebekah” ,like in the Bible , but I still like it.
My sister's middle name is Ruth.
I have always liked the name Zipporah (the wife of Moses) for a girl too.
Even though it's extremely common, I love my own name, Michael. Yeah, that's right, I'm God's right-hand man, I fought the armies of hell and pinned Satan 1v1, I'm a bad boy archangel and the ladies dig my wings. What is there not to love about that?
Gah my name isnt on here :0 (its belen btw) its the name of the star tht lead the 3 men to baby jesus well actually the full name is bethlehem but belen is shorter way of saying it.
I adore the name Ruth, and the nickname Ruthie, for the name, and my favorite biblical name is Naomi, which is my favorite character off the show 91210
I liked a lot of these names but I think that Haman & Mordecai which are names from the story of Queen Ester in the New Testament are really cool and unique names as well I may just be weird though
I loved almost all of your names. I really liked Malachi, Jericho, and Asher. I knew an Asher once. He was sooooooo cute. He had bright red hair. Now I can only picture an Asher with red hair. I also like the name Micha. I babysit a baby named that. I love your videos! Could you maybe make one about names from different time periods like the 1800's or 1940's or something like that. I also really like you name games!
Aww...my name is Isabella...it means "watched by God" I think...wish that made it on there. There was an article in the Washington Post about how it's the most common girl's name of '09... 22,067 Isabellas...*whew* My favorites are Sarai and Sussannah...
I know someone with the name Sarai but because she is hispanic she pronounces it SARA-EE (rolled R). My favorite Biblical boy name is Micah (pronounced My-cuh). I also like Jude, but for a girl! :)
My favorite Bible names are mostly off the beaten path. I like: Mahlon - son of Naomi (it means sick though) Naomi - :) Matteniah - gift of god Javan - grandson of Noah Noah - :) Junia - does anyone know the meaning? Kallai - frivilous Keilah - enclosing, citadel Lucas - variation of Luke Dinah - justice
From your list Jericho, Isaac and Delilah are my favorites, but I'm planning to name my future baby Nimrod. He was God's hunter in the Old Testament, and I just love this name.
I hope your not being serious (I wouldn't know, as sarcasm sometimes difficult to detect on the internet)!
Delilah and Nimrod are terrible names, judging by their origins. Delilah's foolishness led to the death of Israel's leader, Samson. Nimrod wasn't God's servant, in fact, he was quite the opposite; Nimrod was the pagan king of Babylon who defied God and built his famous tower. Plus, in modern English, a 'nimrod' has come to mean 'fool' or 'numbskull'.
@porsche911sbs i said God's hunter, which he was, and yes, sometimes people connect his name with the tower of Babel, but I've only read about him as the hunter. And yes, i like these names.
Well alot of people base the naming of their children on meaning not just because it sound pretty, so I think for a few people it would make a difference.
@sweetcitybaby22 Yep. Delilah is definitely one of the bad girls in the Bible! :) I love the name, but it brings bad connotations from Sunday School, so none of my daughters are gonna get named it! Haha.
I personally have a love/hate relationship with my own Hebrew name - Rebecca. I've always thought it was a bit boring, but as I've gotten older I've warmed up to the fact that it is really classic. I especially liked the way my French teacher said it! :)
lolz it's funni cause the only Asa I know Is African- American. hehe But I like it. I al so like Isaac too. Tis cute. I would have liked to see Micah cause I LOVE that name but we all have our favs! ^_^
Fo the girls, I loved Sarai, love the pronounciation, and Keturah. Ineresting list! :)
Theres a great movie called One night with the king telling this really romantic tale of Esther
Guys you have to watch that movie, its in my top ten best movies ever!!!!
while we're talking biblical names i think its cool that Gwyneth Paltrow named her son Moses, and i want to give the name Israel as a middle name if i have a son
I know isn't that movie just amazing! I don't think many people heard of it, but the rest of you guys really need to check it out, especially if you like romantic movies! The main actress is also really pretty! And I love the costumes she wore in the movie, Just stunning!
Actually I believe you can watch this movie on YouTube, its just divided into several videos.
Here's my top 10 best movies list: 1. Titanic (timeless classic) 2. Bride and Prejudice (must see!) 3. Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera (2004) 4. Moulin Rouge 5. Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights 6. Tristan and Isolde 7. One night with the king 8. The 10th Kingdom (it's actually a TV series) 9. The Matrix 10. Anastasia/ The prince of Egypt (it's a tie, both animated movies)
Haddassah, who changed her name to Esther in the story, the story explains why the Jews celebrate Purim (think Halloween in America) kids dress up, exchange candy and treats, its a similar celebration in Israel called Purim, celebrating the biblical story of how Esther (whose real name was Haddassah) married the Persian king and later saved the Jews from annihilation
maybe you could help me out then... I want a cute boys name that is rarely used that kinda sounds like sararn. unsure if its a boy or girl yet so i like sarai for a girl though. thanks
I have never heard of Sarai being used for a boy, and to me it's definitely a girl name. Sararn is a name I have not heard of; it reminds me of Soren, which is one of my fav boy names.
Personally I wouldn't recommend Sarai as a boy's name at all. Like XOXOKatyee said before Sarai was the name of Abraham's wife before they made the covenant with God where he then changed it to Sarah. Also Abraham's name was Abram before he had his name changed. BUT Soren or (my preferred spelling Sorin) I think is a great alternative :)
sarai was also/actually the original name of sarah :)
and its' my hebrew name

oh and my favourites were probably Tirzah, Suzannah and Asher. In the observant Jewish community we pronounce Asher as 'uh-sher' or 'awsh-er'.
but fantastic vid!
Lol I've commented like 4 times I feel like a stalker/creeper :( :P

what do you think using sarai as a boy name? my husbands name is sararn so just wondaring. thanx
milindasuek 2 years ago
I have never heard of Sarai being used for a boy, and to me it's definitely a girl name. Sararn is a name I have not heard of; it reminds me of Soren, which is one of my fav boy names.

Sarai is definitely just a girls name..
It was Sarah (Abraham's wife in the Torah/Old Testament) before Abraham made the covenant with G-d.

It was Sarah's name* sorry forgot some of the words :p

Personally I wouldn't recommend Sarai as a boy's name at all. Like XOXOKatyee said before Sarai was the name of Abraham's wife before they made the covenant with God where he then changed it to Sarah. Also Abraham's name was Abram before he had his name changed. BUT Soren or (my preferred spelling Sorin) I think is a great alternative :)
