NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.
YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.
The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.
Odds of a No vote offered by William Hill: 10/1 against. Exceptionally long odds. I think yes will triumph this time around. Just a personal opinion, you understand. Just in case an alien from outer space is watching this video and thinks that everyone in Ireland is opposed to the EU Treaty.
As regards the borders situation, I thought the immigrants had already arrived, long before Lisbon.
I am happy to wait the outcome of today's referendum A clear picture will not begin to emerge until Saturday afternoon. However, I promise not to post an "I told you so" message on this thread if we do vote "Yes" (contrary to the views of all of your acquaintances). If you're so certain of a 'No' outcome, check with Paddy Power whether they will still give you odds of 8/1 on a 'No' victory.
The whole point about betting is that it is predicated on the word 'if'. That is why Paddy Power are offering 1/25 on a 'Yes' outcome. (If it were 100% certain, then millons of euro would pour onto the 1/25 odds on offer). However, as one of the Paddy Power marketmakers explained on Sky TV yesterday, "we think the chances of a 'Yes' outcome are about 92% compared to an 8% chance of a 'No' outcome."
I'm not certain of the outcome. But I would not invest any money in the 'No' option at 8/1.
@BiffaTW Ireland is not exactly a tasty destination for immigrants at this particular poiint in time. Almost 90% of the "second wave" of EU immigrants have returned to their native countries.
@1957Rotu true and this situation will be a big irony that the economic downturn, failure of the Euro will hit the EU back in the face, I know Irelands in a bad state and I understand why many of them voted Yes because they had no other option to help the economy, but my message to any Irish would as it would be to any european beware of the EU as political entity it does inded bare all the makings of an authoritarian machine.

thank you for video.. we here in Ireland voted no to Lisbon.. and hopefully vote no again.. why? because we are supposed to be democratic yet when we vote we are treated like idiots... so they try again to brainwash us to vote yes... we are sick to death of corrupt politicians... so we will vote no again even with a bigger majority.. dam those corrupt politicians.. and for that reason alone i am voting NO.. thank you... the rich eu fatcats can piss off...
Article 33,paragraph 6 of the Lisbon Treaty allows the 25 members of the EU executive the right (with only two exceptions) to change or declare null & void ALL rules/regulations/laws present in existing treaties relating to the ECONOMY ;TAX ;CIVIL SOCIETY ;environment etc.
« Sorry,this is a dictatorial constitution » (Prof. Schachttschneider, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg).
Only the much-bullied Irish people can stop this for all of us in Europe !
ashman3000.. i agree with you on the fact that some people in ireland are very lazy.. 5 of my friends didnt bother voting because they didnt no what it was about.. basically they were 2 lazy to try and find out what it was about.. if people got off there arses and actually looked it up...
What worries me is that Dublin is becoming a Police state with CCTV and RFID tracking exactly like London. The Irish Government is Stupid and will try to sell out this country like Your Gordon Brown did. Your country should be up in arms over not being allowed to vote on this Nazi style dictatorship from Lisbon.
i agree my freinds there blatently isnt much time left ild give it 3- 4 years before wqe have total economic, civil, collapse have you looked into the last seven years the great tribulation
vuffelch, come again ? Not really sure of the central point of your message. If it's simply a polite way of telling me to f*ck off, then fine. But if it's meant to be a coherent message, I'm not sure what lies at its heart.
The EU has all the political morality & understanding of integrity, democracy & the votes of the people as does Mugabe in Zimbabwe - praise be they do not yet have the confidence to act with the same brutality in their nacent Police State. One has to wonder, in this surveillance, bureaucratic controlled supra national zone, how long before its own Gullags are brought into being in this burgeoning open prison with its denial of democracy.
The People Have Voted NO to the Politician's ambitions.
urfadder your comment speaks volumes of you but adds nothing to the debate.
Congratulations to Ireland for the NO Vote & the thanks of those who value liberty, Justice, democracy & a free future rather than being shackled to the corpse of a concept from the last century designed to answer problems of the century before.
The thanks of those who were denied the UN enshrined human right of self determination NOW the EU is threatening to act like Mugabe & force you to vote again WITH THREATS!
the eu legal basis is founded on the idea of a voluntary limitation of sovereignty to create a supranational organisation. it's the ultimate exercise of state self determination.
lisbon would actually make pulling out of eu easier.
"problems of the century before"... what like climate change, terrorism, food and fuel security... and mugabe himself? (EU Council Summit 20/6/08)
bit rich from a brit quoting the principle of self determination.
urfadder Your first point is unsound the signature of Britain was based on RATification was clearly stated 'Will lead to no essential loss of National Sovereignty' an integral part of the Vote in the referendum.
The New Constitution does NOT make it easier to leave it defines a method of self destruction if you choose to leave that MUST meet with QMV.
What terrorism? The EU has done more to harm liberty than all terrorists. Climate Change & Global warming without scientific fact!
urfadder Lisbon is a self ammending Treaty requiring only QMV of the self serving politicians.
FOOD: there is adequate food world wide merely, due to subsidies, priced beyond the reach of the poor. The loss of food to pests is exacerbated by EU pesticide regulations. The EU has done absolutely NOTHING to adress Zim. merely copied Mugabe rewfusing to accept the outcome of a Vote & blackmail, threaten & bully as with the Irish to force them to change their vote as with Changerei's peoples.
urfadder that you show your true colours with your last sentence to be a foul mouthed, ill mannered typical EU bully - insulting those who disagree with your propaganda and bullying misinformation - albeit in adult debate.
1. some issues demand a more global approach ie global terrorism, credit crunch, environment, oil prices, energy supply, drugs trade, immigration.... as amazing as the UK is and all that, it can't do everything alone.
2. polls show 80pc of irish no voters are pro eu membership. don't congratulate what you don't understand. the irish can address, deal with, account for, interpret... the "no" vote as they deem fit. it's their choice. nobody else's.
urfadder 1. clearly you have swallowed the propaganda hook line & sinker - how has the EU provided an answer to a single one of the problems you keep raising?
2. Do watch Maggot Wallstrom Minister of propaganda in denial of NO yet admitting France, Holland & Ireland have ALL voted NO.
What happened to democracy - many favour some sort of EU but one with democracy & without centralised political control.
Personally I am aware the EU brings NOTHING that justifies the risks, costs & harm.
Ashman's message: "Hello. I'm from the U.K. I've read a few articles in the Sun about the European Union. I heard about how the EU will abolish our National Health Service in England. Also listening to this radio station, like...Alex Jones.....I know that hospital care in the U.K. is gone because of the EU...they'll also be giving more rights to criminals."
Yeah, right, Ashman. Only problem is that everything he says is factually incorrect.
kpetals, the European Court of Justice has always enjoyed supremacy over us whenever issues of EU competence are at issue. This was established in both the Costa v Enel and Simmenthal cases. Lisbon did not alter the position in this regard. But would suggest you read the European Court of Justice decision in SPUC v. Grogan to reassure yourself that the European Court of Justice does not meddle in matters of national sensitivity, such as the availability of abortion.
1957rotu,if Lisbon had been ratified, the european court of justice would have had supremacy over our constitution, and in time, with "test cases" been brought, things like abortion etc.COULD have been introduced into Ireland.we just couldn't be sure, and many of us didn't want to take that risk.
Yes, I am quick to condemn. Mainly, because I have no respect for people who use misleading ideas to sell their campaigns. The idea of Euro micro-chipping an Irish baby was just one of the many misleading ideas used to sell this referendum to the 'No' camp. Another was the Coir leaflet which suggested that Lisbon itself would introduce abortion, prostitution and drug-taking. So people like Ashman should be criticised because their videos are seriously misleading. We need truth and authenticity.
1957Rotu when you finshh a survey as why people vote yes then you can start talking about respect, being treated like eejits and more or less being told vote yes because we say so
Your quick to condemn and ridicule but I hear no suggestions. How does that help?
We don't need "leaders" We need administrators that carry out our will in a more direct democracy rather than these criminals forcing their will upon us.
Do yourself a favour Ashamn and read a bit more deeply, and searchingly about a difficult and complex subject. Your views are simplistic. You're seriously deluded if you believe that the Lisbon Treaty would have affected the free provision of health in the National Service in the U.K. As regards Lisbon giving "more rights to criminals", you're wrong. The Treaty will make it easier to control the trafficking of human beings in the EU. Keep your offer of a pint and your ill informed videos.
If the EU is such a disaster and stands for nothing, why are nations around the world looking to copy it ? South america recently made a treaty and will form a union (UNSASUR) which they have officialy said will be modelled on the EU setup. The australian PM has called for a Asian/Pacific union which he wants modelled on the EU. Central Asia has proposed a Union. If the EU was such a disaster and failure regional nations wouldnt model themselves on it.
ashmam 3000 Thank You for your video,1751 persons looked at it,some were Irish keep up the good work, and if your ever in Dublin I'll buy you you a pint.
thanks bro but no you wont be buying me anything it will be my honour to bye as many irish people a pint as possible if im ever in dublin its all thanks to you guys Peace and big respect to you
I'm really happy for all of Europe and the world. I think the Lisbon treaty was very dangerous. The world is a much better place that we all have sovereign and unique nations. Thanks for this video. take care brother.
Hi Ashman we did it! we told the Lisbon treaty shove it where the sun doesn't shine lol As Amy Winehouse song they tried to make me sign the Lisbon treaty, but I said no no no lol
The Irish Times is doing a survey asking "Do you think the NO vote significantly damages Ireland's standing within the EU?" The results are 37% YES, 63% NO. But what's most interesting are the comments left by ppl all over the EU. Most of them are from citizens across Europe THANKING the Irish ppl for voting NO... for them, too, because only in Ireland were the ppl able to vote on this. In the rest of the EU there were no referendums & the ppl had no say.
Than YOU very much for delivering a NO VOTE to subsuming Ireland yet further in The Evil Union with its disregard for freedom and the peoples of EUrope. History will show how courageouse it was of the people of Ireland to display with such certainty their self confidence that they can stand on their own feet without the nanny state of the EU with its bullying, threatening and dishonesty. It has been a great eye opener to many just how vicious & corrupt those who wanted the EU were prepared to be
..........The EU carrys on operating on its current treaties ? like it always has lol. The EU has not ended it carrys on today the same as it always has, all the institutions and everything. It can operate on its current treaties until a solution is found. I bet you anything a solution will be found ( back door ; ) wink wink. Im going to laugh at you when all this is sorted out.
yh but it didnt lol thats all im bothered about but like scooby dx said theyle fly back with another 1 in a year we just gotta be carefull to spot them when it appears
at this moment 38 of 43 counts are in and the NO vote is ahead by 53.5% - 46.5%.
The Lisbon Treaty is DEAD!!!!!
This is a great day for the people of europe. I'm very proud that we have voted against this treaty.
Regardless of any of the scandalous issues raised in the treaty, we a nation of 5 million, never had any right to vote on such a thing for the other 495 million people of Europe.
YEAH!!! haha irland i love you i saw on the news this morn its pretty much a blatent NO ooo yeh dadadada daaaa im lovin it ok this isnt the end of it tho its just brought us some more time until the next 1 is pushed in our face but its good none the less
This guy is plainly wrong. Lisbon will not effect the free medical services provided under the NHS in Britain. Also inaccurate when he talks about border control. There's still a common travel area between U.K. and Ireland which is immune from the stricture of the EU Immigration regime. And the Lisbon Treaty will make it easier for the European Police Network to prevent and deal with human trafficking and the criminal networks engaged in such trafficking.
the new version also messes with the privacy laws of citizens in each country. Big brother would very much like for this new version te be of power immediately, preferably yesterday. People have died to protect several rights that many hold very dear and not even know it. Ireland has the power to do somethign about this and several other things. Its not just about too many immigrants.
They have a huge say in Ireland. Their gov doesnt believe the Irish people have the basic right to national self determination -ie the border. They deny us full independence to this very day.
Even if ireland votes no, the EU will still be around and carry on functioning. The lisbon treaty isnt in force now as I write this and it still functions okay, it has recently had a summit with the US. If ireland votes no it will just continue running on its current treaties like it always has. Its also possible ireland will get pushed to one side, while the main EU core get on with it.
I'm irish and when I first heard about this treaty a few months back I immediately thought bad idea! simply because as much as everyone in government would like to think there are so many different cultures out there in europe and not all unified laws will suit everyone. Also, I believe every country should have a point of view whereas with this one third rule if we vote yet that wont happen for 5 years of every 15 and hence why i'm voting NO on this on thursday.
I say vote yes. John Boulton an extremist bullying neconon has asked Ireland to vote no because neocons extremists want the EU to collapse. So this NWO guff is rubbish.
im voting no anyway, way too fishy for me...dont like anything about it. fuck that im doing fine without that treaty. our government should be concentrating on the HSE fuckup and the incresing levels of drugs etc. and not that stupid treaty. VOTE NO!
Those seeking to mislead claim that Ireland is as a result of the EU the wealthiest Country per capita in the world. This of course is bunkum, the Swiss are NOT EU nor are Qatar! True Ireland has been one of the most subsidised in the world, creating false values on property thus indigenous Irish once subsidies ended failed to be able to afford to buy homes & the false salaries & subsidised projects sucked in many foreigners. What happens to the subsidy junkie once the drug is gone? JUST VOTE NO
Bill of fundamental rights - means that EU tells Ireland how many immigrants both legal & illegal Ireland must take in. That these people can be hired for a minimum wage which means Ireland must compete for these wages or lose their jobs.
Ireland do the Europeans a favor & vote No
"Not a superstate that is dilluting the national identity." - Barroso -President of the European Commission
dont worry some of us irish no what to do.VOTE NO.yes the irish goverment is raming yes down our necks i think it will be a no vote more and more people now no what it is all about.VOTE NO..
I see a lot of videos concerning the Lisbon treaty being posted by EPP...Of which the Enda Kenny is vice president. Just try commenting on one of those channels...if it's not for Lisbon your comment will not be posted....Vote NO to the Lisbon farce!
aingilitite - you want to be part of Europe but want foreigners to butt out of Irish affairs....seems like a contradiction to me.
caithigí bhur vóta i gcoinne an Conradh Liospóin....you and Enda Kenny are not the only ones that can speak Irish not that it matters. Death to the Illuminati, the NWO and Fuck Lisbon!! NO TO LISBON
...I'm sick of foreigners telling us Irish which way we should vote. Kindly butt out of Irish affairs !....
lol are you aware that a bunch of foreigners(mainly germany and french)(and soon turkey and they will add it to the eu..you mark my words...they wont have NO! for answer if they add turkey they will have the BIGEST vote in the EU) will have everything to say about itish affairs...
We are the only ones that get to vote because in our constitution it says changes cannot be made without the approval of the people... and i'm shocked that apparently no other EU country has this in their own constitutions. And if Lisbon gets voted in guess what will be the 1st part of our constitution that will end up over-ruled by EU law
im irish im voting no its scary how much this whole eu thing is getting as 4 gordon brown he wont give the people of the uk an election on this because the more power the eu has the less responsibility, politicians in the uk and ireland have they just say we know its a crap rule but our hands are tied from brussels
I'm pissed at myself as i could have voted technically, but didn't realise soon enough! I was born in Ireland butlive in London at the moment. Just think, Ireland could save democracy for 500 million people, epic times!
i feel very strongly about this treaty and im voting NO! I feel the government is pressing us ...if u drive anywhere in ireland most of the posters are for a yes vote its totally biased
yes your right but its basicly a matter of being in the gang whos gonna kick themselves out and hang out as a loner these countrys see it as moving with the crowd
all the more reason to vote no wouldnt you agree i mean look how dodgy this treaty is how fast it was pushed on us and how quickley they want it done and the worst part is things are only gonna get worse before they get better especially considering america pretty much in reccesssion
They are going to keep pushing it and will not stop until it is ratified. The plan is to Unify Europe under a single dictatorship and use the military power of Europe and NATO to march against Russia.
I hope that those in Ireland privileged with a vote as to whether or not the EU can impose its undemocratic centralising New Lisbon version of the Constitution on Ireland as a vassal state ruled directly & undemocratically by the corrupt EU will JUST SAY NO but if they are unsure we must hope they read Stephen Castle's article 'EU machine grinds to a halt for Irish vote' as published on the 25th May in the International Herald Tribune. The Evil dishonest intent of The Union is made very clear.
yh mate i can beleive that coz i know for a fact well not fact but im sure i remember watching a video on the news saying gordon brown hasnt read it either none of them have their masonic daddys told them dont read just sign.
man im fed up of us all saying well stop them bla blah we need to recruit people we need to start an underground group or summit whatta u think
I am Irish. I want to hear other Europeans views on this issue and how the Lisbon treaty will effect your country like ths concerned young Englishman (with Irish Roots) has done.
I also back the views of this young man. The 'BIG Global PICTURE' hypothesis.
I believe what is happening with Ireland being the only country in Europe having a referendum
Well I do know what it entails and I will be voting no.The effects will be the same everywhere in europe...We will also lose public health care along with many more national democratic rights...
Will do rheban1, most of my pub orientated debates center around this discussion to date, and i can't help but stress the importance of information. To make a valid decision on any matter, all facts must be taken into account. And the reason so much of this subject is kept from the general public is but one highlighted discrepancy of this whole farce of a treaty.
Sorry cannot take you seriously with your use of the english accent, speak with some sort of informed mature conviction and I might take you seriously.
you're dead right!! this is VERY serious. look how the unification of america went down!!
the break-up of states is usually accompanied by new borders and civil wars, but the institution of federated mega-states (U.S.A. U.S.S.R) is all too often encumbered by the same thing.
it's not accepted by the sleepy majority 'till they wake up, but by then it's too late, hence further armed strife
Yeah i did more research on the subject and i am now in effect, a NO voter. "End of Nations" movie is all that needs said. If ya haven't seen it google it, its free and very informative.
Its funny haondeag 2months ago i knew nothing about this treaty ,and i had no opinion on it,If you take a quick look at this treaty it seems to be a good thing (MAINLY GOVERNMENT SPIN)but i like you sir done my research and the deeper you dig you begin to see how bad it really is for us .People are just being kept in the dark about the down side to the treaty,Welcome to the no camp brother ,spread the word
Now unless all that i've read on this is lies, i can't see why any country whos disallowed from participating on this treaty- simply because they might say no- would willingly remain in an unjust system. It makes no sense.
I believe that the only way forward in this world is through unity and i welcome this unique chance to be part of such a significant event. Although i'm currently swaying towards a yes vote i'm still not convinced all motives are just.
I was under the impression that all of the 27 European countries were MEANT to vote on this treaty, as its implied on all the research i've done on this subject. So i'm quiet confused since a unionised constitution can't exist unless everyone is at least eligible to agree or disagree on that unity. In excluding countries from their say on this treaty would ultimately sway them from taking part in a unionised europe at all. In saying that this treaty also opens up an excape rout

I'M IRISH.
WE VOTED NO!!!!!!! :D
We like the EU a lot but Lisbon gives them too much power. It's very bad for us.
AsianPolitics 3 years ago 3
The EU has all the political morality & understanding of integrity, democracy & the votes of the people as does Mugabe in Zimbabwe - praise be they do not yet have the confidence to act with the same brutality in their nacent Police State. One has to wonder, in this surveillance, bureaucratic controlled supra national zone, how long before its own Gullags are brought into being in this burgeoning open prison with its denial of democracy.
The People Have Voted NO to the Politician's ambitions.

right back 2 ya
ashman3000 3 years ago
urfadder your comment speaks volumes of you but adds nothing to the debate.
Greg260146 3 years ago
the eu legal basis is founded on the idea of a voluntary limitation of sovereignty to create a supranational organisation. it's the ultimate exercise of state self determination.
lisbon would actually make pulling out of eu easier.
"problems of the century before"... what like climate change, terrorism, food and fuel security... and mugabe himself? (EU Council Summit 20/6/08)
bit rich from a brit quoting the principle of self determination.
shut up you douche.
urfadder 3 years ago
urfadder Your first point is unsound the signature of Britain was based on RATification was clearly stated 'Will lead to no essential loss of National Sovereignty' an integral part of the Vote in the referendum.
The New Constitution does NOT make it easier to leave it defines a method of self destruction if you choose to leave that MUST meet with QMV.
What terrorism? The EU has done more to harm liberty than all terrorists. Climate Change & Global warming without scientific fact!
Greg260146 3 years ago
urfadder Lisbon is a self ammending Treaty requiring only QMV of the self serving politicians.
Greg260146 3 years ago
urfadder that you show your true colours with your last sentence to be a foul mouthed, ill mannered typical EU bully - insulting those who disagree with your propaganda and bullying misinformation - albeit in adult debate.
Greg260146 3 years ago
my ranting friend.. some coherent points...
1. some issues demand a more global approach ie global terrorism, credit crunch, environment, oil prices, energy supply, drugs trade, immigration.... as amazing as the UK is and all that, it can't do everything alone.
2. polls show 80pc of irish no voters are pro eu membership. don't congratulate what you don't understand. the irish can address, deal with, account for, interpret... the "no" vote as they deem fit. it's their choice. nobody else's.
urfadder 3 years ago
urfadder 1. clearly you have swallowed the propaganda hook line & sinker - how has the EU provided an answer to a single one of the problems you keep raising?
Greg260146 3 years ago

Hi Ashman,
It's nice to see your clip. Hope you're happy with the outcome! I am!
LadyDionysusOnion 3 years ago

1957Rotu 3 years ago
1957Rotu when you finshh a survey as why people vote yes then you can start talking about respect, being treated like eejits and more or less being told vote yes because we say so
vuffelch 3 years ago
And no need to apologise for the poor quality of the video, Ashman. It's nothing compared to the "poor quality" of your views.
1957Rotu 3 years ago
Your quick to condemn and ridicule but I hear no suggestions. How does that help?
We don't need "leaders" We need administrators that carry out our will in a more direct democracy rather than these criminals forcing their will upon us.
Slavesrevolt 3 years ago
wow you know administrators that carry out our will? how lucky of you
deathplatoon 3 years ago

Please do not listen to this buffoon

the new version also messes with the privacy laws of citizens in each country. Big brother would very much like for this new version te be of power immediately, preferably yesterday. People have died to protect several rights that many hold very dear and not even know it. Ireland has the power to do somethign about this and several other things. Its not just about too many immigrants.

0eternalreturn0 3 years ago
I'm irish and when I first heard about this treaty a few months back I immediately thought bad idea! simply because as much as everyone in government would like to think there are so many different cultures out there in europe and not all unified laws will suit everyone. Also, I believe every country should have a point of view whereas with this one third rule if we vote yet that wont happen for 5 years of every 15 and hence why i'm voting NO on this on thursday.

Those seeking to mislead claim that Ireland is as a result of the EU the wealthiest Country per capita in the world. This of course is bunkum, the Swiss are NOT EU nor are Qatar! True Ireland has been one of the most subsidised in the world, creating false values on property thus indigenous Irish once subsidies ended failed to be able to afford to buy homes & the false salaries & subsidised projects sucked in many foreigners. the break-up of states is usually accompanied by new borders and civil wars, but the institution of federated mega-states (U.S.A. U.S.S.R) is all too often encumbered by the same thing.
it's not accepted by the sleepy majority 'till they wake up, but by then it's too late, hence further armed strife
