  • She high on the hurdle. Arm formation looks good, better snap in lead leg.

  • thumbs up if u watch this vid just for === hot girl

  • Very good video with amazingly lucid explanation. I also happen to love your accent. :)

  • Any tips on how to get 3 step? I'm 5' 1" so I find it a bit difficult but it will cut down my time a lot if I could get it.

  • @KayTgurl1001 You need only increase stride length. Now, it may sound like I'm telling you to grow longer legs, but that is not the only way to have a longer stride. The main way is with strong glutes (and, yes, hams, calves, etc. but glutes are king). Do yourself a favor and look up Bret Contreras. World-class experts call HIM the glute guy. There is a reason. Please feel free to message me on here and I will get you way better. You will be amazed at what you can do! :) Good luck!

  • nice jump !! 0:26

  • nice jump !! 0:26

  • nice jump 0:26

  • whenever im in a hurdles race i usually stumble in between one of the hurdles and lose momentum completely. Any tips to help prevent this?

  • @ItsTheNachosTalking do you mean you shuffle before the hurdle because you cant get three steps in?

  • im a pretty good hurdler and even this helped me. stuff you already know but you get told again by her. helps

  • SHE WENT TO MY SCHOOL

  • Hip flexibility needs work but it is a great basic demonstration for beginners

  • I think you are too high over hurdle but i only my opinion:)

    Greeting

  • its good but u need to go abit lower

  • get lower? other than that, well done leading with the toe and pushing off with the platform of the other foot

  • she doesn't vet low enough

  • Give the girl a break - it's not too bad for a long jumper!

You can see her stats on thepowerof10.info site

  • That's good form but ur still hopping over the hurdle go down a litlle bit

  • Pacey is officially listed as 5'11. Those hurdles don't look like they are at "official" height for junior high girls. Put the hurdles up to college level and I'm sure she would look much better going over them. Can't say there was too much wrong with what she demonstrated anyway.

  • This video is soooo helpful, she has amazing form and technique, i'm gonna try to copy her and see if my form improves.

  • @Sanner52 if you are a guy and u try to copy her, you will do worse. She is 5'11' and shes jumping over sisie hurdles. Of course it doesnt take much form and technique to do that. For guys, high hurdles are 42" high. thats 3 feet 6 inches compared to women's 33" "high" hurdles. thats merely 2"9.

  • Use the same lead leg throughout the race

  • When doing hurdles should you alternate between each leg in the race or alway use the same lead league?

  • @PrestidigitationKid well it depends on how many steps you take in between the hurdles. if you three step or five step then you use the same leg. if you have four steps in between you alternate. obviously the less amount of steps in between the hurdles saves you time

  • jeez guys she probley doesnt even really hurdle, shes JUST trying to help

  • Shes jumping xD Lol this isnt hurdling!! :o

  • Wow guys she's jumping too high, you don't have to say it after 20 people just did :)

  • @SocailQueen she's jumping too freaking high. all the hurdle coaches would say the same OVER AND OVER AGAIN

  • its more important for guys to stay low than for girls to. The mens hurdles are 42" which is higher than most guys hips, so if they get high over them, they are jumping to much. Girls hurdles are only 32". so as long as they get their trail leg down being high over them isn't always too bad. It can slow them down if they drop their hips in order to barely clear the hurdle. Dropping your hips kills all your momentum.

  • ya'll are right she is jumping too high over them. When i see the college kids demonstrate hurldes at my high school, their upper bodies appear to be gliding over the hurdles while their legs & arms do the work

  • Are you Lara Croft ? Someoen give er 2 pistoles (Just FTW)

  • she's like a horse

  • you not even jumpin over it low enough

  • @Tyshaundrea2010

The whole point of this was to show form, not how low she can jump the hurdle.

  • she jumps waaaaay too high over them

  • When I Do Hurdles I Always Have To Shuffle My Feet A Little Because The Wring Foot Always Goes Over. But Hey I'm Only 12, And You've Got To Learn From Your Mistakes

  • she has gone too high over the hurdle.

  • i agree, shes going much higher than needed. she should be a lot lower to the hurdle (almost hitting) so she doesn't have as much air time, which in the end lowers your over all time by alot

  • Sorry to say but you need to run the hurdle, not jump it.

  • Good description but poor demonstration. She is jumping too much, should have more forward momentum and minimal upwards momentum so you don't spend so much time in the air.

  • you're hot!

  • she should lean forward

  • her arms are too open and she is going too high. but she has very good hurdle technique

  • She is jumping way to high over the hurdle.

  • hey 100m,22 seconds is dam slow right? I am quite discourage... because when I have my PE the hurdle was quite short and I did well, but when I try for the 100m hurdle that my school have Youth Olympics,to see who will go into finals,The hurdle was higher than I expected,my height is around 166cm using a actual hurdle height. I am 14 years old. Can you tell me what's wrong with me?

  • @proswampert yea that is really slow, most girls at my school get aleast a 16.50. You probably just need to work some speed work, and get your form down to a pat and then you will be able to destroy.

  • I'm starting track this year, so this has helped me a lot. I am planning on hurdling.

  • she jumps because her take off step strikes in front of her hip, that's how you get ready for a jump. You want to run over the hurdle, every step including that last one before take off should hit the ground directly under the hip. You don't jump unless the hurdle is hgher than your hip, which is usually the case in actual races lol. I believe you still step directly under your hip though.

  • I find that you jump a bit too much in this clip, and your trail leg is a bit far out..

  • Great video. Hoping I will put it to good use. :D

  • Thank you Nathan,

It was loads of fun filming it too! Hope it helps you with your technique.

  • Great video showing how to do a hurdle jump. The three quarter angle is great. Most videos just have the front view. Thanks! I'm using this for animation reference.
