I like this better (the acting, the grainy image quality, the way the kids don't look Amish but sort of a weird pagan sect)- I think this is a lot creepier than the 1984 movie and about 100 times scarier than the laughable 2009 remake. (No offense to anyone who liked that, the acting in the 2009 version made me laugh). Thanks so much for posting this paintnothing!

@rodrigoraulsuarez They left the end open ended- the crows are following them and there is that "corn" knife stuck in the front of the car and it's overheating and probably going to stall. When I was watching the end I got the impression that they both were doomed and the crows were flying after them as foreshadowing, but we are left to imagine their "sacrifice" which is actually creepier.

Great ending! I don´t remember the original in the short tale but this one is very good, at least to me.

The main actor is pretty dreadful and there has been way too much editing done here. That said, this is a supremely well shot movie that has much to recommend it.

Stephen King sure writes good stories that can make anyone scared of such thing he writes, like my brother, when he watched children of the corn, he didn't want to eat any corn because of the fear that it comes from a demon, I know it sounds silly but...DOTC and COTC all the way! I love those movies.

@primarci That's not a subliminal message, the car is overheating. Plus, it's not that brief and they show it more than once (you are meant to see it). Subliminal messages happen so quickly that the human brain doesn't consciously see them- which is how they work. Consciously the person doesn't know why they start to feel differently.

interesting. if this was further developed as it was it wouldve been better than "children of the corn" the full-length pic which i didnt like. "disciples of the crow" is an interesting but naive and underdeveloped sketch. but it has potential. children of the corn i didnt like at all. this is more believable and it has some not bad scary soundfx - only we need to see these children perform more ritauls+murders+the plight of the 2 adults not bein able 2 escape growing. a not bad sketch

If it was in french, does that mean there is another version, completely different than this one, in english? Or was this film originally in french then given english dubbing?

The original language is English, as in this video. The French DVD was dubbed into French, but I put the English audio from an old VHS release onto the video from the French DVD, which had superior picture quality (not that you'd know it from YouTube). There aren't any alternate versions.

Thanks man, I love the stuff you put on here. We really need to do a better job preserving all of the extra scenes left unused from our most favorite movies, and the obscure films that barely saw the light of day. I applaud you on your great efforts :)

Nice video. I love this low-budget, 80s feel. I wish they developed and extended the story to at least an hour.
