  • Beautiful.

  • is it an instructional dvd?

  • Great playing and feeling. Thank you Robert.

  • He sure practiced a lot in his life ! It would sound better with a real band but it still is a killer solo !

  • He makes it look so EASY!

  • This man is just super shredding on this guitar. Awesome.

  • I'm not ready yet

  • Jazz chords are scary.

  • Sweet!!!!

  • NICE.

  • I would like the Sheet Music for this.

    From: Canada Eh!!!

  • wow

  • Great playing but the magic of this tune is that it was written in three. Wish he hadn't changed the time signature.

  • I cannot believe Robert played this with his eyes closed

  • Stunning display of true improvisational skill's.WOW!

  • Soooo Smooooothhhhhhh. Red wine, aged Italian cheese, and listening to his music, PRICELESS!.

  • KIller!!!

  • great!

  • ROBERT DE NIRO!

  • I like this guy, he does remind me of one of the killer miss.... Just watch his fingers

  • No doubt about it!...he's right up there with the very best of the best!..

  • that was fucking incredible.

  • In what tuning does he play?

  • @AndreSonsOfSamael

    standard eadgbe, start with Gdominant7 solo start with D E Fis G A B C

  • Virtuoso! Love it!

  • can someone explain how people actually click dislike on this? is it ignorance or jealousy, it boggles the mind.

  • @pazdman ahh, their just a bunch of haters because they've never seen the likes of Slash or Steve Vai or Joe Perry or any of those "guitar gods" do the things this man can do(and they never will)!

  • @pazdman i do'nt care what other peoples tast is, enjoy the music

  • EXCELENTE¡¡¡¡

  • ¡¡¡¡EXCELENTE ¡¡¡ MAESTRO CONTI, ES USTED UNA INSPIRACION PARA QUE SIGA ADELANTE

  • The Godfather of guitar...

  • Mr. Conti has the smoothest hands I've ever seen on

any guitarist - - - any time, any where ~

  • how can anyone in his right mind dislike this ? ! this is the best right hand in the business ! imo . love that paper thin nylon pick ! left hand ain't to shabby either ! Conti knows how to relax that left hand and get em off the strings quickly for that clean sound. great playing !

  • hehehehe great!:D

  • Dude, you can really get around through those changes. Sweet! I play mostly nylon, so we have different approaches to sound and technique, but you can sure get around that neck! Fun to listen to and watch. you make it look easy.

  • Gostei Parabéns!!

  • i just can say... woooow

  • See what happens when you practice your "chromatic scales!"... and from all angles too!...this all looks so effortless, but we know different!...practice, practice, practice!...

  • incredible

  • @Korsaro1 yeah... wooow

  • OMG shreds!!! i really like this. :)

  • 0:51 hes getting into it!

  • nao canso de ouvir esse cara!

  • tight

  • why all the hate for metal guitarists, i've never heard metal heads talking bad about jazz, a lot of metal solos are emotional, and composed very well and a lot are based off of jazz and blues styles. no one is trying to hide notes with distortion, going from a heavy song straight into a clean jazz solo wouldnt fit a song.

and btw, this is amazing playing and Robert is an awesome musician

  • Interesting that he plays his own signature.

Nice, nice video, guitar and exponent skills

  • All you metal heads this is real playing.

  • @MeBestGuitarist Some metal shredders couldnt do this, but equally i highly doubt this guy could play any Dream Theater, Symphony X or Racer X solo

  • @MeBestGuitarist just because metal doesn't use all these chords (which allows these kinds of improv) doesn't mean that we don't know how to do it. It just doesn't fit the style very well.

  • Smooth baby!

    ?;^D

  • wooooooooooow unbelievable coordination! He was doing like sweep picking but with two notes at a time, and extremely fast, and very coordinated, but still with feeling! Incredible!

  • Yes Mr C. You are the boss indeed.

  • I am so stoned right now and this music is making sweet love to my ears.

  • This is beautiful. Yeah, it reeks of practice and dedication. No need to hide notes under the ever so decieving distortion...nothing is missed here.

  • great

  • got it goin on

  • Flood was here.

  • ...18 people will always have the blues!

  • Did you hear that?....it does pay to practice!...simply pure genius!....(and a lot of hard practicing!).....

  • Smooth playing look at those meat hooks really cooking!

  • He plays 90% of this with his eyes closed, amazing!

  • @kapacon he's like Jesus on jazz guitar!

  • @kapacon You play with your ears, not your eyes. And fingers... And I guess you need hands and arms to go along with those fingers too. But not eyes. No need for those...

  • I just don't understand why everyone thinks this guy is so amazing. His lines aren't even in time. Seriously, am I the only one hearing this? All of his solos are like the same 12 licks transposed to whatever key he is playing in.

  • THE BEST

  • God, I want one of these guitars! You are my new inspiration, Robert!

  • Sweeps and string skips i dont ever wanna hear anyone say thats just for metal this is brilliant on so many levels

  • @peedutt I think it looks like a gibson type of guitar when they were first called hertiage because it looks like it was based off what they called "the log" back then

  • @BluesyKid2120 In this video, Robert is playing the prototype to the Conti Archtop Jazz Guitar, which became available in mid part of 2009. Please see the high res pictures and all the specs at the Robert Conti website.

  • @robertconticom Wow. He's a pro! look at how he changes chord positions. Lightning fast changes yet still clean and smoothly done and great lead work!

  • I used to think I was good before I saw Robert Conti. He shattered my ego and I couldn't be happier.

  • I FUCKING WORSHIP YOU! (my greatest compliment)

  • i could never play jazz. i know how to play blues and almost everything, but jazz is just something you have naturaly

  • i don't consider guitarists who can't play jazz musicians... it doesn't take much skill to fuck around with metal licks and play loud with huge distortion.

  • @freighter014 music can be made with a single note or a hundred notes..while i'm a lover of jazz im a fan of metal as well and music is NOT about technical mastery or melodic intention it is totally about personal and self expression one finds the musical style that suits their melodic vision...be it "fucking" around (or so you think) with distortion..or playing clean on a a guitar true a artist will tell you that.

  • Destroí! virei fã ^^

  • Nossa que loco! toca muito o tiozão. e achei ele mto parecido com o Robert de Niro mais gordo. rsrs

  • damn' he's a jazz god

  • He is the master without a doubt..

  • verry good.....

  • I like this more than blues guitar...

  • Brilliant !!!

  • Very very impressive, Robert, you have made an incredible job on this tune!!

    You're great!!!

  • Hmmmm 17 dislikes ! :-( i've never heard this tune played better to my ears.what's a guy gotta do? i'll make it the 460th "likes" only because there's no "loves".sheesh!

  • strictly butter

  • Only say good things about Robert Conti....or you'll be sleeping with the fishes

  • ...He is just THE MASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :55 The dude almost fell into a musical coma. I would do anything to be able to feel the music as this guy does. His technique is mind boggling. The most tasteful sweeps I have ever heard. The best chord progressions I ever heard and such a nice tone. You, sir, are a pure gold.

  • I just shit all over my $18 chair

  • I just pood my musical diaper.

  • You baddd, brother Conti...Salut!!

  • Awesome. What a player.

  • OMGGGG !

  • lol, sausage fingers for the win. Great guitarist.

  • Glad I stumbled upon this. Was listening to some ghostface, this was a nice interlude. Great guitar playing, fun beat, reminded me a bit of Sim City.. (smooth jazz always does)

  • I thought I could no longer be blown away by anything posted on youtube, thanks for proving me wrong, this was amazing.

  • It's obvious that this guy locked himself in his room 8 hours a day while everyone else was jerking around. Chops like this don't happen by accident.

  • how the hell is this possible to play?!!!!

  • @pgabrielides haha... get it together.. robert is phenomenal.. how can you try to discredit his skill by such an absurd and stupid response? this is NOT just a bunch of "sixteenth" notes... if you have ears and eyes(and a sense of musical intelligence), you'd see that robert uses the whole fretboard with dynamic/diverse "riffs".. this is not something the average jazz player could pull off... especially so effortlessly.

  • @pgabrielides "just spitting out sixteenth note lines"? "there are plenty of players who can do what robert conti does"? My response to you: At 19 years old, you know nothing about jazz guitar and even less about taste. In fact, your lack of taste is demonstrated by the idiotic comment you posted. Like someone else said, I would like to see you "just spitting out sixteenth note lines." Before you post stupidity, you should get your facts straight about what you claim he "preaches."

  • I had never heard of Robert Conti's name before, the 2 minutes ago stumbled on this video. My heart seized up. Is he the best electric guitar player alive? Is he to the guitar what Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson are to the piano? I know the tune wlll, BTW. Mr Conti, in your hands the electric guitar turns into liquid fire.

The guy looks like a foreman on a loading dock in New Jersey. A due who spends his spare time drinking beer in front of the TV. And then he plays like this.

  • To all the 17-year-olds that hang around youtube watching videos of Linkin' Park or some other horrible band, and think that Kurt Cobain was the greatest guitarist ever: I hope you watch this.

  • NIce.....one of the best Ive ever seem, I like that litlle bubbly outro there, like gull skippin in the sandbar

  • is it just me, or is the time feel lacking...

  • @fishqwer It's definitely you. I'm a semi pro, and I listen to this video every day for inspiration. He's playing with a track and the time is dead on. Don't know what you hear, but there is nothing lacking in this guy's playing, he's a top shelf player.

  • @fishqwer I've been playing drums professionally for 40 years. The track he's playing with is perfect & so is he.

  • This guy is not saying anything with his runs .... he is just playing a bunch of licks ..

  • @Clipper52a People like you amaze me. Do you make a comment like that out of envy, or plain ignorance? I would bet against it, but if a time ever comes in your life when you can "just play a bunch of licks", like this guy, at this tempo and over those chord changes, let me know, I would like to hear you do that! The only guy NOT saying anything is you. Show some respect to other players, especially a guy who can play like this.

  • @Clipper52a

this man is an og, show some respect

  • He's the real deal, I love his playing. Gorgeous tone.

  • Is this the same Robert Conti that wrote music for Rocky? Pardon the ignorance if it's not.

  • @charlesneedham 'S okay...you're thinking of Bill Conti. Different guy.

  • Wow that was amazing!

  • man, what a gruve!

  • Killer guitar, Bob...

  • ----> Absolutamente Maravilloso!

  • Effortless and sweet,what a Maestro!!.

  • also master

  • Amazing playing and sound too! Thank you for the inspiration!

  • one of the best of our time. flat out amazing

  • beautiful!

  • not abt the guitar. even if u give him a POS guitar he will still be conti!

  • shit lol i was abt to ay the same daam this he remaind me of the godfather :)

  • Wow, that was absolutly incredible! truely inspirational.

  • grandeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • amazing how hes so into it and just spankin the fretboard.

  • best:) my idol

  • that was awesome. his sausage fingers move so quick,

  • harmony/technique lesson...awesome.

  • I am freakin' speechless ..... killer guitbox playin' if I ever have seen it ...

  • monster player

  • Could anybody tell me what guitar Roberts playing. Thanks

  • @peedutt

  • I took a few lessons from Bob almost 30 years ago in Jacksonville and he is the real deal. . He used to take off to LA every year for a while there and use all these great session players, record an 'album' and he always gave us some. You know Bob, I use that b5 minor blues lick at 1:15 a lot...I never wondered where it came from. I think I stole some stuff from Walter that he took from you. Thanks man..really great.

  • HOLY DOG SHIT!

  • Now that's how you "shred", kids!

  • Simplemente el Mejor ;The best ; Der Beste Guitar Player any time This Guy Ist a Genious

  • Not only does he have a hollowbody for that sweet tone, but he's also got a shotgun in there.

  • ridiculous

  • I've been a nightclub entertainer for almost 30 years and i've seen some amazing guitarists! i've also watched them bomb in the studio trying to get any where close acceptable recordings of thier chops! But this cut of blusette is fantastic , one take all the way through! no overdubs just a man, a guitar and 2 minuets 22 seconds!

  • Love your soul Robert.. you make my heart sing!!! Thanks always for the joy and love in your playing..
