I think he's talkin about people who follow blindly and those who lead them whom don't allow dissent, but rather, use fear to keep people from deviating from the image that the leader paints for the world. Joe is saying that there.are good pieces that can be digested, but nobody has perfect knowledge so we should question. Chew the meat and spit out the bones, else ya might choke, mate ;)
So according to his theory, his thoughts are crazy too. He has a small amount of followers, so basically creating another religion. A very simplified one. Don't get me wrong he has some good points, but they kind of contradict each other at some point.

I've been listening to McKenna, Tom Campbell, Alan Watts, Christine Breese, Osho, Thich Nhat Hanh and the like for years. I love his passion & find his enthusiasm and positivity hypnotic, he obviously an expert on reality and I can't believe I haven't discovered him before now.
But why do I find his frequent profanity uncomfortable, I don't know, maybe because of the road I'm on, because of the way I'm programmed?

There was no defense tactic due to the fact that this wasn't in any attempt to be a serious argument about whether or not it is an ideology. So in reality, I just told it how it is on my side of the screen, how would you know otherwise?.. Not a defense tactic. The insults are unnecessary as well.

The problem isn't religion (i.e. a belief in a supreme being or 'higher' consciousness) but the dogma which attaches itself to religion.
But dogma attatches itself to all ideologies, relgious or non-religious. I equate it to a rock gathering moss. Religion has been around a lot longer than most ideologies so it has had the most time to gather moss/dogma; but if you dig deep enough the rock/truth is still there.
