Those cars took talent and feel to drive and drive well. They didn't have synchros you double clutched while heal and toeing, look it up if it's not familiar sounding. Tehy didn't have power steering, hence the huge steering wheels and slow steering. No paddle shifts with the engine managment doing the throttle blending. they had huge power, up over 5 and 6 hundred hp with skinny assed tires and capable of over 200 mph. Ask Bernard Rosemeyer, if you can channel his spirit. Heros roamed then.
How can anyone drive any car (except an automatic) properly without heel and toe? Especially if double declutching is required. You can hear the sound of drivers entering corners at club events and they can't do this technique.
