  • what heart showen by briggs! hes a awsome guy too!!:)

  • I would have loved to see a prime Lewis versus a prime Foreman.

  • Total respect. This was Lewis the King ruling his kingdom.

  • Lewis in his prime was a level above anything that's around at the moment. The KIitschko's turned up @ a good time as people like them with lead boots where banged out early doors in the early 90's. Even Frank would have dismantled the older one

  • @MissyEmma1000 Wlad has "lead boots?" What a stupid comment. He's easily the most athletic boxer of his size. Watch his amateur fights and listen to Emmanuel Steward.... The Klitschko's aren't the same fighter btw. They're pretty much complete opposites in terms of styles and attributes.

  • @MissyEmma1000 Wlad was faster than Haye who was one of the fastest cruiserweights around in both the pros and amateurs. Oh and that bum who knows nothing about boxing... Some dude called Tommy Brooks seemed to think Wlad had faster hands than Mike Tyson... But he wouldn't know shit about boxing. Not like you, who thinks Frank Bruno is better...

  • Klitschko couldnt even knockdown briggs once. Lewis did it 3 times. Whos better now. Lewis has fought better calibre opponents.

  • @jabjabgrab123 Good point. Klitschko only broke Briggs face in multiple places, put him in intensive care, ruptured his ear drum and out boxed him for the entire fight. Definitely didn't hurt Briggs at all. He did have all those high caliber opponents like Rahman and McCall too.

  • briggs has the punch and attacking power but no defensive. remembers me of corrie sanders

  • @britishbulldog100 Sanders was better IMO. Remember the beating he was putting on Rahman before he gassed...

  • Lewis was the greatest fighter of that era, sorry to all the Tyson and Holyfield fans but look at his record if you don't believe me, he beat everyone worth mentioning who was willing to fight.

  • beautiful boxer for a big man, one of the best

  • Lewis was really one of the greatest, but he had one of the worst CONDITION ever

  • Lol briggs can take a punch and throw one.. you just dont want to knock his pint over in the pub without saying sorry

  • @azertu2u2 Lol. Briggs is a punching bag.

  • @ezerers2 So he cant punch?

  • ..but that doesnt cut it as far as all time greatest. Klitschko ever since they fought has been throught the roof...common opponents seem to say he is the better fighter...on both of their best nights i dont know that lewis wins...I feel for the UK/Canadian fans ..if they only had Frank Brunos courage in Lewis body...

  • The problem I have and that most americans have with lewis is that he in reality was a very good fighter and a very good champion when he had the ability..the skills ..and the opportunity to be the best ever...he was too safe although he was bigger and stronger than everyone out there...every other fight he was not in great shape or focused hence losing to 2 mediocre fighters...had he fought to be the best and dominated he would have..he fought to be smart and safe so thats what he was...

  • if this ref had been in charge of briggs fight with klitschko he might still have a career..

  • american commentators lol i don't even..

  • lewis can possible be the greatest heavyweight ever

  • This is one of the reasons why I think Lennox is one of the best heavyweights of all times.

Just look at his size and the perfect combination and versatility of his fighting style. He had power, was versatile, had all the punches a boxer should have and was also very very smart.

And he is better than Vitali, in 2003 he was 38 and past his prime, but even then it was a close fight, and I believe without the stoppage, Lewis wouldve still won the fight, becuase Vitali was slowing down in 6th round

  • Fucking wrecking balls dude. Both of them.

  • Prime Briggs being systematically taken apart by Lewis, great stuff.... Lewis is levels above Vitali and Wladimir.

  • @shehd1983 thats why he get knockout twice, since vitali didn't even one on the floor

  • That fight could have been ruled a TKO in the 1st round by the right ref

  • @diamondmoney007 by a paid off ref

  • vitali beat lennox. was a luckey punch from lewis

  • The only thing bad about a young Lewis was the weak chin. It's why he'll never be remembered with Marciano, Holmes, Ali, etc... He went down and didn't get up, even in his prime. His stamina was never great either.

Other than that, he was just a nightmare to face. Speed, agility and power. You'd have to be crazy to want to fight him.

  • @TA152H01 Marciano, Holmes, Ali, etc. All they were great, but boxers like Shannon or Lewis would knock them down just counting on difference in their physical shape and power. The one who had a chance against guys like these was Ali ... only because of his great strategy and tactical genius!

  • @MrDVKY Lewis would have a chance of knocking them down, but Briggs wouldn't belong in the same ring.

Lewis would have to beat Marciano within a couple of rounds, after that he'd get torn up and abused. That weak chin, and mediocre stamina wouldn't allow him to finish the fight. Early on though, he'd have a chance.

Holmes would be the worst matchup. He was much tougher than Lewis, faster, and his jab would prevent Lewis from getting off.

Lewis is a hard style for Ali.

  • Lennox was 38,was one step before retiring,8 kg overweighting and the match was very close. So fore everyonr, check you boxing knoeg a comment heredge before posting a comment here

  • 03:04 what a fucking G

  • tyson couldn't take all those punches like briggs did before going down, that was badass

  • i love lennox :D

  • Omg why that many people cry because Vitali lose his fight with Lennox. Lewis in that fight suffered a deserved victory and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. There was a risk that the eye falls out and the doctor had the right to discontinue.

  • "I fought George Foreman, I fought Lennox Lewis, but Vitali is the best" ... said Shannon Briggs after the fight with Vitali Klitschko. Lewis never can beat Vitali. Vitali is better than Lennox ever was.

  • @unfeldetonymontana Lewis DID beat Vitali, even when he was old.

If Vitali couldn't beat that Lewis, Vitali could NEVER beat Lewis.

  • @Myndir at age of 38, Lewis was in his best shape and Vitali beat him with no doubt.

  • Shannon Briggs showed here that he has a huge heart

  • What year was this?

  • What the fuck is Shannon Briggs head made of??

  • Great performance from Lewis, what a demolition job. Anyone who thinks Lewis couldn't take a good shot look at 2:59 onwards, smiles at Briggs then decks him again with a sweet combo.

  • Vitali klitchko is awesome. But an out of shape lewis beat him. And he could not finish a older shannon briggs

Lewis dismantled shannon briggs , briggs had a few good punches thats it.

    Lennox truly is number one.

  • @TheNigerianScammer No fucking way could an out-of-shape Lewis beat either of the Klitschkos. Lewis was great but don't diminish Klitschkos. Right now, they are indestructible ...

  • @SullenMorbius an out of shape Lewis beat vitali.

  • @SullenMorbius An out-of-shape Lewis beat Vitali.

  • @Myndir An in-shape Lewis never won one round in his fight against Vitali ...

  • @SullenMorbius What are you talking about?Lennox was 8 kg over his best weight. And he won 2 rounds and lost 3.8 kg over he;s weight and 38 years old.Lets be fair

  • Shannon ur the man.. great fight.. lewis still the best. but great fight from shanon

  • Briggs was a man getting up from that punishment but don't shake your head at Lewis.

  • Shannon "The brick" Briggs... That dude got rock-hard-head.

  • Briggs agressive BUM ! :D

  • Credit to Briggs he took some BOMBS in the 4th

  • That should have been stopped

  • @Tracywithafacey fool they did stop it

  • At 3 minutes in, that knockdown is so so sweet

  • @Tracywithafacey it was tremendous

  • awesome fight

  • i didnt realize it at the time becuz of my american ingorance but looking in retrospect Lennox is the best from 97-03 or whenever he retired. think bout it who did tyson beat & who did lennox beat? & tell me who's the best

  • @ib722 In retrospect looking at Lewis's resume it is probably the best of 07-03, for me Holyfield was the fighter of the 90's with Lewis a close second.

  • @ib722 Lennox fought everyone apart from Bowe and Moorer, but he would have ko d both on the same night

  • A classic fight of Lewis'. Briggs proved he was a worthy challenger.

Watching it again it still bothers me that the HBO commentary team hardly give Lennox any credit. Fuck knows why he wanted to work for them.

  • One of my favorite Lewis fights. Pure classic Lewis. The only ones I like better are Lewis vs Grant, Ruddock, and Botha.

  • Briggs was nothing but heart. I always find myself watching his fights.

  • Briggs look like he had some balls in this fight!

  • if only briggs used a proper guard and head movement instead of taking so many big punches.

respect anyways gets got the heart of a lion

  • Awesome vid man, good fight and very underated imo

  • Amazing fight, Briggs had a big heart and a good chin. Unfortunaly he wasn't disciplined enough he actualy had a big change beating Lewis.

  • What a performance by Lennox, absolutely wild. I wish he was still around the HW division.
