@standingontheledge The band formed in LA after Dave Kings former band mates in Fast Money went on to success in the band Motorhead. Eventually Dave King found himself wanting to make music of the like that he grew up with in Ireland. He recruited a new band in LA and played an Irish pub/ venue named Molly Malone's. They rocked so hard it was said they were Flogging Molly. Thus the name.
