When you buy a cd, dvd, Wii game/PS3/Xbox game, you only own the disc and not the content on the disc, so technically, if you upload the content on the disc, how the fuck are you to know there is anything on it?? The main argument of all the big labels and corporations is that the artists are not getting paid., but even if you can stop "illegal" download the artists still won't get anything because those corporations keep all of the money.
Also, if they wouldn't put such high prices on CDs, DVDs and so on there would be less people downloading files.

I think it should work like this: .Music should be free to download .Movies and games should be free to download (legally) IF the movie is 15 years (or more) old,
and 8 years (or more) for games.

Piratebay doesn't rip, steal or leak movies and music. Actually the music/movies that is leaked is ripped by people that the companies send their dvd version of the movie to review before release. Music has the same thing, So instead of accusing downloaders of crimes they should check their own people and their loyalty. Piratebay only host the files people seed, they don't personally search for ILLEGAL FILES to be shared. That's why piratebay keeps winning, because the once suing are retards.

TPB didn't even host the damn file. they provided a way for the users to transfer data just like file hosts do. I sure the hell dont see sendspace or other file host going to jail, they actually host the content on their servers. most of the content is just as illegal (movies, music, games). or hell sue the makers of P2P software (shareaza, limewire and so on) for that matter.

If there was no piracy, many bad game/music/movie/etc. companies would never bankrupt. It is our duty to reveal how bad they are through piracy, then don't buy their garbage, and let them perish. But then again, if download something that is good or awesome, simply buy it and support the developers. I think that's how the most people see things.
And no matter what happens, piracy will remain to exist. I say, better try and cure the poverty and hunger, than piracy. It will save lives, not money.
