This film is amazing. I wish it got a bigger audience and was released soon on DVD Region 1 or Blu-Ray.

Then I have good, bad, and worse news for you. The good: Lionsgate is finally releasing a DVD. The bad: There are no extras (not even this trailer). The worse: The aspect ratio is incorrect, the quality sucks, and the print used is TEN MINUTES SHORTER than the movie actually is (between minutes 8 and 18 is missing altogether).

If you are still interested, it comes out November 3 (that's the day after this comment is written).

UPDATE: Lionsgate has recalled its first shipment on that DVD to fix the length problem in time for its second shipment, November 23. All the other info will still be applicable.

This film is perfect. A deep expression of the joy, the celebration, the sadness, the loss in life. Joyce's work here is perfect, that is true too of Huston, Angelica, and every single actor and actress in the film. A masterpiece.
