Interestingly, this is described as a "Richard and Kahlan" novel, not a "Sword of Truth" one. Does this mean that there is no longer a need for a Seeker of Truth post-"Confessor", and that Richard has "retired" like Cincinnatus, but now finds that he has to face a daunting challenge on a more personal level?

Being a Richard and Kahlan book I would think it has to tie in to the Sword of Truth series in some way, but as long as it has Richard and Kahlan, it will be Great! They are wonderful characters! Both have such conviction and integrity. Their Love is one of the most Epic stories ever written, and I can't wait for their journey to continue! Hopefully they will have some happy moments in this one, and be together! Really looking forward to this book, have read all others in the series a few times!

Dear Mr Goodkind. Thanks for these novels. They cover so many bases. They entertain me, they make me think, they improve my vocabulary, they improve my understanding of people and society.
