if theres no gas or coal dust to explode...nothing will happen ...you know we do monitor those kinds of things....lol...completely safe...why dont you bring ur aussie ass over here to west virginia and work a little...and you would see "your not in australia anymore Toto..."
@spud0587 you havent worked at a coal mine then, as iv said in other posts, this is contraband, i bet you'd fine he would get the sack if management found it, also his crew would probably give him a hiding, i know i would
All I know is, there is no way I would have the guts to work hundreds of feet underground, maybe a mile or two miles from the mine entrance. I take my hat off to you guys big time.
well for a start if there mining fresh coal, there isn't any stone dust on it, the roof from the video doesnt look to be covered very much either, im just saying why put peoples lives in danger by bringing a phone for example into the mine? we would of been shot if we had, as for the electric motors to the CM's, Shuttle cars, Load centers etc.. they are all in Flame proof cases, with the correct spacing so that if a short occurs the flame has time to cool down before exiting the case,
@ApparitionNZ your a dumbass and know just enough about mining to let everyone know your stupid!!!! everything you touch underground sparks ten times more than a phone or camera ever could!!!
@ApparitionNZ ive seen it a million times!!! not all mines are gassy fucktard!!! as long as theres not methane then theres not a whole lot to worry about!!
@ApparitionNZ you are a fucking idiot...you should stop commenting on shit you know noting about before you sound anymore like a retard...my 3 yr old know more about coal mining than you...!!!... i use oxy/acet blow torches everyday underground...you are stupid ...SHUT UP...!!!
@nikon47130 dont know where in the world u work, but in Australia and Nz if your using blow torches, welding devices , they get all men out of the mine, i dont know why theres so much negative attitude, good ol youtube aye, every coal mine has no contraband, this includes phones, so why take one down to create a risk? fuck sake!
dam dude u turn ur chain off to many times. its a wonder the other cars are not waiting on u all the time. u guys should turn the speed up on ur feeder chain.
@edratliff with out getting into the ins and outs on dust and explosions, if he's using a phone camera or a normal camera wich isnt designed to be around coal dust he is putting everyones lives in danger, in other words BANG!!
@ApparitionNZ ...with the proper amount of 'rock dust' on the mining surfaces and sufficient ventilation, there shouldn't be enough coal dust in the air to ignite should there? I know of more than a few ignition sources on an active mining face - tungsten-carbide teeth grinding against some of the tougher rock? electric motors that power just about everything..wouldn't think that something like electron transfer from a li-ion battery would be enough to cause an explosion. i may be wrong.
Ahh love the sound..... Maybe wv coal could be in my future.

Actually it dont matter if he uses that phone or any kind small device because it doesnt have to be permissible right there at the feeder.
