I know this is somewhat irrelevant, but I must say this is a *very* well encoded video! It looks, at 360p SD, well above half the quality of the average 720p HD video on here, definitely better than the average 480p SD!
I loved the books, loved the TV series, and love the movie...Eventually, I hope to hear the radio series. All four versions wildly contradict each other.
That song's the only thing i really like about this film. 'so long and thanks for all the fish, laa laa laa laaa la la - la la' . Most fishily Catchy :). Maybe not really the fault of the film (although i think Adams may have been forced to 'hollywoodify' it a bit.), but I think the series as seen in the 80's spoilt the film for many of us because thats how we had already assimilated it. I saw the series recently in one sitting and was transfixed despite the length much more than with the film
@TombeauDeCouperin ah ok thanks, i didn't know that. If you notice however, i wasn't blaming him, i was saying he would have had to have been forced. i.e the responsiblity would fall upon the people exerting the force.
@intermender Adams actually had very little to do with the final product, since he died long before the script finally used for the movie was completed. Some claim that a lot of the ideas were his, but it was a work in progress and even those parts attributed to him were things he wasn't satisfied with and wouldn't likely have made it to the final cut.
@LydiaTheGingerCat Hey lydia, good to know you are reading nice books.. keep reading, its a very good exercise to your brain to develop your imagination and critical sense.. Try writing too, its pretty fun.. show your dad what you think, i bet he'll be surprised.. children always amaze us with your thoughts..
A truely good friend of mine, Paul Field, passed away two weeks ago. I asked him for advice once on a situtation that had no answer, or hope of fixing. Paul told me at thimes like this, he would always refer to one of his favorite quotes..... So long and thanks for all the fish..... Paul was not one to go down with someone elses sinking ship. Like i said, a great man and a sence of humor that this old world will miss.
I would love to see more movies made! It was so funny, and captured most of the important plot points, not that this series has major plot points in a linear fashion due to the ever complicated issue of time travel.
I thought this was a pretty good adaption. Of course it's not as great as the book (the movie never is) but I thought it captured the Hitchhiker's feel pretty well
For the persone ho gave me the "poor comment" thingy ....... yeah you are a retard mate .... and i have right to sey this ... this is my personal opinion I dont ofend no one with this .... this is a free forum and any retard ho think to flag comment that he dont agree with is a FUCKTARD! and this is the WORST MOVIE EVER!!!! Read the book guys it is 100000 times bether you will see ... :)
hahaha... i saw this on opnig day it was funny bc at my movie theater if you brought a towel you would get half off of the movie ticket. was a grate way for promotion. i loved the books. and dare i say it. the older version of the movie.
yeah, I don't think they've ever really messed this series up...i like the old british episodes though too...and now i know both the ultimate answer AND the ultimate question!
no it was baout more then that u have to watch the movie to understand what im talking about, they are just saying that they knew about the world ending an that everyone else never listened to them its a rly funny movie lol
It's about the earth being destroyed and the main character gets into a spaceship and manages to escape. He finds the answer to the great question of life, universe and everything else but can't find the question itself
