i was at the show, one of the Amnesty volunteers who went on stage for Aung Sun Suu Kyi during Walk On. the little girl was one of our volunteers too!
i work for amnesty. U2 invited us to have volunteers every night of the tour, we recruited from our membership. Greenpeace, Campaign for Burma and the ONE campaign were also asked to participate
spectacular no doubt. however the spreading tube/video screen is reminiscant of Peter Gabriel's Lamnia tube that he spun around himself in on the Lamb Lies Down tour-1974. That device was probably so low tech compared to this mega thing and he spun it around while inside and lit from within. He was a genius-way back then. But last night I must say this space tube thing during this particular song was incredible to watch.
I was in Club Section 12 Row 11!!! This was my first U2 concert and im only 16 yrs old!!! By far the best experience of my life! Been wanting to see U2 forever and this was a great night for me! Lost a bit of my voice I was singing so hard =)
that little girl was one of the human rights volunteers (With me!) who went on stage that night during "Walk On" ... of anyone there she deserved that moment the most!
i was there... but trust me it was waaaay more epic looking from the nosebleed seats (: no kidding
