@poonpoonlam: Do you have some interview link or evidence from the film to back up your claim about the terminal illness? Why include the subplot about the cat's relationship with an immature female cat? It is meant to parallel the untold story in some way. You fill in the blanks.

@poonpoonlam The premise behind this short is that the cat, Chobi, loves the one who found him ("She") unconditionally. It's also showing a relationship between owner x pet, but through the pet's perspective, rather than through the eyes of the owner. Hope that clears it up a bit for you. : )

@ginbloodemo "Fandub" implies that the vocal track is done by fans. So yes, we dubbed this. Originally it was only subbed and only had a Japanese vocal track. Glad you enjoyed it! : )

@Sequialtera Sorry, but we're not going to change something like that. Timing is everything, and by using a two syllable word, the statement flows better, rather than saying "somebody" (which is a three syllable word) and it causes the statement, of which is said in desperation, to sound heavy. I'm sorry you're not pleased with it, but we did take every line into consideration to make sure it had obvious fluidity, and could be recited the way it was meant to be.

Pleased with how this came together. Dan made a good cat - not too monotone, not too expressive. It was a reasonable direction to take and made the atmosphere of this short surreal and neutral as it should be I feel. Ame sounded wonderful also. Well done on the mixing as well Kaitsu. Don't think anything was out of sorts.

Thank you for the role in this short. As a hardcore Shinkai fan, I'm just pleased to be in it, as I believe this is the 1st Engdub. Unofficial as it is. =]
