Although it is true that large scale government intervention and regulation as well as excessive spending are the major causes of the economic crisis, there is still plenty of room for regulations that protect against fraud, and regulations at the state and local levels. There should not be a central government however that picks and chooses the winners and losers.

I used to believe that regulations were rules that protect us from powerful corporations. But as I watched the process over a period of decades, I learned that corps. are the ones WRITING the regulations in cahoots w/politicians. They are written to PROTECT the corporations when they do things that should, or used to be illegal - things like credit default swaps. That's why it's unrealistic to assume that regulations are always in our own best interest. Also, Paul is 4 SOME regulation.
