The kid was being a punk and kicking his legs violently from 0:15 to 0:17. The ref had to be a little more forceful to keep the situation under control. After picking the kid up, you can clearly see the ref talking to the kid, putting his hand on his shoulder trying to calm the kid down, explaining why he picked him up so hard, it's because you were trying to kick people, and before he could finish giving him a lesson in sportsmanship, the dad embarrassed himself by making a bad assumption

The ref was doing his job that he was underpaid to do. The referee didn't do anything excessive to the kid and even tried to talk to the kid as to why he was pulling him up. This was clearly a teachable moment for the ref and what the parent did was inexcusable. They should ban the father from future games and/or kick the son off the team.

not sure which side to favor. Kid was being a bit rough when getting out from the pile. Ref was a bit rough pulling him out of the pile. Kid shouldn't have acted like such a prick, but Ref shouldn't have acted like a parent. I guess I'll side with ref. He had to ensure that all players remained safe. If you can't handle a little roughness when you're trying to pick a fight, then don't play football.
Add on: it looked like the player was getting mouthy with opponents and reff. :-\

and I'm simply stating my opinion, which is to analyze what I see in the video. And what I see is a child getting a little overly excited, as kids do, and becoming a hazard to the rest of the players. The ref could have dealt with this in a better manner, such as separating when he removed the boy from the group and when tried to correct him, but what's done is done.

If anything, the kid should have been ejected and the father deserved an ass kicking courtesy of the police for being such a moron.
