I agree with you guys! very underated as a guitar player. people do know his great songs though, you know a harrison song when u hear it. he was so humble that he flew under the radar for a long time. here comes the sun is one of my favorites that he did. just a beautifull song. im not sure but the guitar riff in day tripper has to be george's. that just sounds like his guitar work.
@moonlily1 Oh Hell...that's even better...I heard a much different story...whatever it was that happened the whole message here is not top be a wimp and stand up for yourself...even if it means going to the pokey for a night...never back down...you'll never get up again!

This is a beautiful love song. The lyrics are to the point and you can feel the passion. Of course, he wrote, "Something" too, so you know the man can right a love song.
This song reminds me of Roy Orbison. George was such a cool motherfucker. If I was him, I would've slapped Clapton around a little bit. (for stealing his wife)
@SubMariner11 He kicked a home intruder's ass, beat the hell out of him, big time a few years before he passed from cancer. I doubt that you're a bigger man than George.
@jcp0129eek Actually, his wife kicked the home intruder's ass. George went to check on the noise, was attacked, and Olivia came to his aid and beat the man to submission with a fire poker. After the incident, Tom Petty sent George a fax that said, "Aren't you glad you married a Mexican girl?"
@jcp0129eek "more man" has nothing to do with it. I just have laser eyes which would make it very convenient for me to destroy said robber. oh, and i get money and yous a bitch haha
Wow, I've never upset people here before. I explained my hatred for baby boomers, & you're right, George was above that & didn't preach hatred. I've even read Autobiography of a Yogi & the Bhagavad Gita, so I stand corrected. I meant no hate & am not about hatred. Being a baby boomer, I have my own reasons for being pissed, but we know hate isn't an option. Thanks for keeping me honest. I love YouTube, all of you on here, & George was my favorite beatle. Listen to the Inner Light. Love, Peace!
hmmm, its hard to be sad about george leaving the material nature. Good for you george! i hope you are enjoying rockin it out with Jimi and James brown
one of my all time favorite party songs. thanks for the memories George. some beatle fan I am!? Didn't know friday was your birthday, yet I spent most of the night listening to your songs, including the Inner Light and Old Brown Shoe, It's All Too Much. Really, what is life without George Harrison? We love you and miss you. From now on we just cope.
@bodywhomp98 On your site you say you hate boomers.Way to listen to George's message of peace and love for everyone. He never preached hatred of anyone. You are no fan.
I agree that ATMP was overproduced, so let's put it in a different context. I bought the album in '71, My Sweet Lord was being played on the radio, in fact a lot of these songs were. The album was an amazing piece of work, everyone knew it, even Paul the Egomaniac (though he wouldn't say so) and the hits just made radio better. Bible Belt kids singing "Hare Krishna" because it was on the radio. So, get a guitar, find the chords online, and do your own version. Simple.
...So what does she do? After everything I said, all her yeah, yeah bullshit she picks up the phone and calls an outside line. Now if anyone was listening they'd know everything..they'd know a package was leaving from my house and they'd have the time of the flight thanks to her,,,,
While George was one of The Beatles, he almost certainly seemed like " Odd man out " for some reason. I think he was limited to two records per album and didnt seem to be much of a contributer to John and Pauls efforts !
ON THIS THE 9TH ANNIVERSARY OF GEORGE'S PASSING - THIS SONG WAS THE B SIDE OF "MY SWEET LORD" THOUIGHT IT WAS BETTER THAN THE "A" SIDE (OFF THE BRILLIANT "ALL THINGS MUST PASS" ALBUM)
@thishereguitar Phil Spector did his best (although not deliberately) to ruin All Things Must Pass. Harrison said before his death that Spectors Wall of Sound echo was a big mistake. On some songs it works ok, this one included, but overall the album would have been far better off produced by George Martin. Would love to hear All Things Must Pass tapes before the overproduction. That really would be something.
@vintagegirlist Why? he was known by almost everybody on planet earth and he was wealthy, besides nowadays the Internet is full of George's contents, I don't think he's underrated even though I can understand every fan in the world thinks his/her star is underrated :-)
@vintagegirlist He certainly was underrated as a Beatle, and even in his solo career. That is why he called his music company Dark Horse--coming from behind to win, with a wry wit at that. In his gentle, generous manner, he made no eager effort to escape the deep shadows of Lennon and McCartney. Still, it was his karma to be known as one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. Does anyone doubt that his music will go on and on? I don't. Nor does Sir Paul or his great mate Eric.
this song is really really good and awesome and is one of the best songs ever, but i think its a waste to have used this title for this song. I mean, It's just a love song. In fact the great question "what is life?" gets changed into the much simpler "what is MY life?".
@videodaniel8945 This song is not a mundane "love song", it is a tribute to His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder of the Hare Krishna movement in the west. What is life without the revelation of Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna? In fact, Sri Krishna is everything! Get hold of Bhagavad-Gita As It Is by Srila Prabhupada and you'll understand both George's and my enthusiasm. Hare Krishna
I hear this and I'm a 13 yr old kid again riding my bike with my buds in our Los Angeles neighborhood in the early 70's. I miss those days so much. Everyuthing was so good, the music, the food, the freedom of being in a really free America and not having politically correct bullshit hanging over our heads. Not having to be overwhelmed with laws controlling every move we made.
I feel exactly the same way you do..I was then 16 back in '71 and it always brings memories of that summer with me feeling so young and full of dreams...I so much agree with you in every aspect in what you say about America then..Instead I lived in a country,Greece which were then not free under a military regime but still i was young and able to enjoy 'simple' things in life such as good music...Take care unknown friend from America..
@giorgosdimitriadis - Giorgos, I was 16 also in the Summer of 1971 and felt just like you did ... here in America. Music: The Universal Language. Peace, my generational brother in Greece ... FoJ
George is my fav beatle...sure I bought a couple of Lennon'sand McCartneys albums, but I owned everything that George put out...even have a Badfinger, George discovered and produced....He was an awesome man leading me to a special spirituality....
"Ringo" fans.... In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
I agree with an earlier poster, listen to this song with the volume turned up LOUD, and whatever your pleasure, have a few drinks or something similar, and dance around the room, and just be glad to be alive! Enjoy it while we can!
Listen to this really loud. What you hear is the sheer joy of someone who has found a deep spiritual truth. And also the joyful release of George free from 'The Beatles' machine and able to do whatever the hell he wanted.
I love this song. One of the few sincere spiritual songs around sung by a good man. George was so cool!!!! That guitar riff at the begining bring me right next to nirvana!!!!
i love the guitar tone on this song! RIP George! He was the foundation of the Beatles. Very underrated as a guitar player. Here Comes The Sun is one of the best pieces of his work.
Phere was a one great person who saw this change in everyones life. He saw it in a manner that no one has ever seen before. Then, he decided to give up all his wealth, his family, and anything that can be considered as worldly. He started a simple life. He started to find out the truth behind the life. He started to meditate and realize the life. He finally realized it and how to stop and free from this birth, age, decay, and death. He was the Gautama Buddha born about 2600 years ago in India.
Life is something that changes rapidly. When a baby is born, he inherits six things. Eyes, ears, nose, tongue, a body, and a mind. All these have a similar characteristic. That it they all prone to change, age, decay, and destroy. Think how many people have been born and died just within last 10 years time. Where are they now? The only truth behind life is its true nature, the change and death...
They asked him in a 1980's interview why "All Things must Pass" was such a great album. He said he just took his songs the Beatles rejected and saved them for his solo career. It's generally considered to be the best album of any of the Beatles.
Never heard this before, the verse sounds alot like "keep on running" i.m.o. I just listened to "wah wah" for the first time a minute ago aswell, i thought that was pretty good. It's a shame the beatles split up when they did, cos George was really starting to come into his own as a songwriter by the end.
Greatest musician of all time this side of life. On the other side I imagine he is even much better. Rock on George Harrison, my most favorite Beatles musician ever.
George your songs are full with happiness, and joy. We miss you but the world is a madness so maybe is better that you no stay here to see how the men contaminate the planet more every day.
Oh to be 17 again driving home from high school in my 1967 Mustang GTA listening to this. It was 1981. I had been a fan since 1976 - when they were to get together for 50 million. I had no problem in mixing Beatles with Devo, Stray Cats, Flock of Seagulls and Cheap Trick.
george is underrated yes......but george and john together were the greatest

George happened to be more "low key" and in the background.
Truth is, he had so much talent. If it would've been fully recognized,
George would've rose above the Beatles long before they broke apart.
Here comes the sun is the "beatles" number one hit on itunes.
Who do you think wrote that? ;) Rest in peace, George.
I named my guitar after you.

Solo that is!

Thank you,

George your songs are full with happiness, and joy. We miss you but the world is a madness so maybe is better that you no stay here to see how the men contaminate the planet more every day.

Oh to be 17 again driving home from high school in my 1967 Mustang GTA listening to this. It was 1981. I had been a fan since 1976 - when they were to get together for 50 million. I had no problem in mixing Beatles with Devo, Stray Cats, Flock of Seagulls and Cheap Trick.
Cheap Trick liked them too.
