  • in my opinion, david robinson is one of the most overrated players of all time, and he only won because he played with the great tim duncan.

  • Thats was not a postmove

  • @yoyoyoitsfunnyman He scored while in the low post.

  • Easily the greatest Big-Man low post sequence of all time

  • @JWMusamay996mb IMO,Hakeem isn't the best center ever. That title belongs to Wilt Chamberlain. There's also Bill Russell and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who were both better than Hakeem. However, I would say Olujawon was the most versatile center ever.

  • This is why I make the argument Hakeem is the best center ever

  • this is the best post move in NBA history

  • That is really good, I wish I could do that

  • had my man doin jumping jacks.

  • LeBron just "Olajuwon'd" Derrick Rose

  • @Paragon231 wut u mean? lebron still lost in the finals.

  • They don't make centers like these in the NBA anymore

  • only a great soccer player can make that kind of move and Hakeem used to play soccer.

  • Didn't Robinson win MVP that year?? Oh well Hakeem showed who is really the MVP.

  • Hakeem and Kevin McHale are the two best low post scorers I have ever seen

  • @goodmorningcapt1 i think ur right! none better than those 2.

  • @goodmorningcapt1 dont ever put kevin mchale in the same sentence as hakeem the dream. ur disrespecting hakeem like dat

  • @327372 Go watch the game tapes, dude. most of the classic 80s Celtic games are on youtube these days. Go watch for yourself. McHale was a lethal low-post scorer, the most dominant in the game in the period between Kareem's decline and Hakeem's rise to prominence.

  • @327372 Ask a teammate of Olajuwon's, Charles Barkley. He says Mchale not only had the best post moves ever, but was the best player he ever saw. Probably why his fg% is so much higher.

  • PWNED

  • lol nene isnt that good bro

  • probably the best move ever thinked by a post player

  • David Robinson looked like he was in no mans land.

  • Patrick Ewing was the only center who could hold his own against Olajuwon. Shaq got his dunks in, but he couldn't guard him if his life depended on it, and everyone knows how David Robinson was destroyed. Ewing and the Kinicks probably would have taken the title in 94 had Pat Riley benched John Starks instead of letting that 2-for-18 disaster happen.

  • @badnasan

Ewing was consistently owned by Olajuwon...look at game 1 of the 94 Finals. The Knicks only got back into the series b/c they switched and put Anthony Mason on Olajuwon. Ewing never could guard Hakeem, period.

  • Sick move, he did 3 steps though, but I don't care. After he picked up the bal,, did a right step, a left one, and a right one. He did a great pivot, but it was travel before that though

  • @woutakasinistra Are you talking about before he picks up his dribble? Don't see it. He keeps his left foot, his pivot, planted on the second step. He never takes a third step. Had he taken 3 he could've went straight up for a dunk b/c he'd have been under the rim. You can't be talking about the move after he stops b/c he keeps his plant foot (the left) as his pivot and never changes.

  • Dream Shake FTW!

  • double fake :)

  • My favorite big man of all time..

  • This.

My main combo. Jab step. Drive. Cross over. Pass fake. Up and Under. Lay up.

  • BTW, just look at Tim Duncan.

He's a center playing power forward, less strenuous, and his game is already deteriorating at 34.

Shaq won another title at 34 with Miami goin almost 20 pt with 10 boards a game.

  • LOL @kurasuke

You know that Wilt Chamberlain ran 10.5 in the 100 and BTW, have you seen Shaq 95-2002???

If you had watched the games, you would know how nifty Shaq is. Shaq is 38 now, yes, name me a few NBA superstars playing well at 38.

PS, Kareem is good but he was not force of nature like Shaq or Wilt.

He simply had a longer career

  • wow that was fucking sick move

  • a center with fancy footworks.i gta learn that dream shake...

  • That was a thing of beauty.

  • best center ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2nd: jabbar

    3rd:chamberlain

  • Says Shaq.

Shaq is so unskilled it's not even funny. This is a big man that made a game out of fancy footwork and crossover dribbles and fade away jumpers. Shaq just drops his shoulder and forces his way in.

  • Don't matter shaq is a more efficient scorer he flat out is unstoppable

  • Not anymore. Now he's just a slow, fat man that slows down any offense. He made both the Suns and has made the Cavs worse.

The only people that like Shaq are casual basketball fans.

  • Funny you mentioned old Shaq sucks

    Olajuwon with the Raptors.....now that's a tragedy...lmao

  • wow wow wow SHAQ unskiled!>!?!?!?!?!WTF he has the second best technique in NBA history after Dream.. boy, learn about bball

  • LOL

Shaq was all brawn, no brains.

KG, Jabbar, Russel all had/have more technique than Shaq. I include KG because his primary move is a take off on the Dream Shake.

Yes- unskilled is too strong a word for Shaq, but "Second best technique" is a farce. Shaq is a top 5 center, not a top 3 center.

  • ok smartguy, its impossible to compare different ages... but be sure that no person on planet could ever guard shaq when he was in his prime.. Those playoff numbers were unbelievable.. I dont know how can anyone putt russell in top 3just WTF.. he wasnt the top center when he played, his rings were team play.. he was a defensive moster, but I'm talking about efficiency here

  • Shaq was a great player in his prime. Those numbers are just absolutely BEASTLY, and his scoring efficiency was amazing. My point wasn't that Shaq isn't great, it's just that he was 7'1", 350+ lbs in his career. He was pretty much the all time biggest basketball player. Oh, and he does that whole thing where he swings his elbows around whenever he gets a rebound.

Russel gets the nod for being the best player on the most dominant team of all time (1957-1969 Boston Celtics).

  • Haha if u think Shaq was just great cuz he was big you are a fuckin idiot

Name me another player in NBA history who was that big that can move like Shaq

Michael Olowokandi was 7 ft and 300 pds yet he couldn't do shit...same with all the other dumbass 7 ft 300 pound players

damn if I was that big and can move like Shaq who the hell needs Olajuwon's fancy footwork

Not to mention Shaq is like 50 pounds heavier yet just as quick

  • I possibly exaggerated his lack of skill, cause he does have some nice moves, but he was absolutely ineffective more than a few feet out. His bread and butter is that he barrels into his defender with his shoulder. He was so unstoppable because he was so huge. If he was actually really skilled, he'd be a lot more effective today. He isn't Kareem Abdul Jabbar or something.

We can just sit here and call each other "fuckin idiot"s but from where I'm sitting, you have nothing to go on.

  • @oneman91 Shaw is not as AGILE as Olajuwon. Look at their defense (lateral quickness, pick and roll defense, switching direction) Shaq was fast for his size, though.

  • @some1x

I didn't say Shaq was quicker, i said just as quick...I agree Olajuwon's defense blows Shaq's defense out of the water though despite Shaq's great athletic gifts...Shaq's defense was something I always didn't like about him (His worst defensive years came in '97 and '98 when the Jazz exposed his pick n roll defense)

Though a lot of his offense covered what he lacked on defense

  • @oneman91 Shaq was never quick like Olajuwon was, you fuckiing crazy? stop smoking that shit, its fucking with your judgement!

  • @NegroXFile

wtf? have you ever seen young Shaq? From his Orlando days to his early years with the Lakers? Dribbling full court, spin and finish at the basket with a thunderous two handed jam?....not even Olajuwon has that kind of speed and power....and Shaq doing it at 7 ft 300 pounds was impossible....young Shaq was just as quick and agile as Hakeem was; don't let today's version of Shaq cloud YOUR judgement

  • @oneman91 You need to go back and check at how fast Hakeem low post moves were and how fast he moved his feet, and dont come back at me with bullshit unless you do that! Shaq was Never fast like Hakeem, you retarted?

  • @NegroXFile

I've seen Hakeem play in his prime, and Shaq with Orlando and LA in his early days....Shaq at his physical prime was just as fast and quick as Hakeem...

Im not denying Hakeem's quickness, I'm just saying that Shaq was just as fast with a bigger frame....don't be riding Olajuwon's dick

  • @oneman91 Uhhh yea and Hakeem swept his big ass in the finals

  • @crazybros100

Uh..so? Shaq averaged 28 ppg and shot a higher % than Olajuwon did...Shaq also put Hakeem on quite a few posters as well if you remember it so well..gotta do better than the '95 Finals dude....I could also speak about how depressing Olajuwon's finals years with the Rockets are, and his Raptor season..wow now that's embarrassing...funny how with all of Olajuwon's skills, Hakeem's stats his last 4 yrs in the league (98-02) was actually worse than Shaq's last 4 years ('06-10)..lmao

  • @oneman91 and thats why hakeem swept shaqs big ass

  • @oneman91 Right and Hakeem just had a more blocks steals assist and a better freethrow than shaq! And you think shaq could have taken the 94 rockets to the finals HELL No. Even mj had to say that Hakeem was the best ever go ahead and look it up

  • @crazybros100

The whole point i was making at first was that Shaq was just as quick and fast as Hakeem, you're starting to get into a Shaq vs. Olajuwon deal now...IDC if Shaq can't take that '94 Rockets team to the Finals, heck i don't even think Jordan could've took that '94 team to the finals....and Shaq did not get outplayed in '95, and yes i do think Hakeem could've beaten the '94 Bulls with Michael on the team...happy? i'm out

  • @oneman91 I dont im glad jordan retired lol

  • @crazybros100

You're supporting Olajuwon and you don't think they could've beat the Bulls? The Bulls were lucky to get past Phoenix in '93,...Olajuwon would destroy the Bulls bigs like Shaq did in '95...it'd be over in 6 games...the Bulls never encountered a dominant center like Olajuwon in the playoffs before, and when they did, they got beat by Shaq and the Magic...hence why they went out and got Rodman in '96..the Rockets would've stalled MJ and Bulls in '94

  • @oneman91 olajuwon outscored him every game how is that not getting outplayed, plus he swept shaq when shaq had a lot more help on his team than hakeem.

hakeem had clyde. shaq had grant, penny, and nick anderson

shaq never got a quadruple double, hakeem was one assist away from getting it twice.

shaq never won without kobe or dwade. hakeem won with just one all star past his prime, in a much more competitive era.

shaq admits that hakeem is better than him, and MJ said dream is the best c evr

  • @oneman91 Ehh we will never know. Now if yao can get it together

  • Russel was the poster child for lack of fundamentals. "if Bill learns how to play basketball they will have to change the rules." Chamberlain was also a worse foul shooter then Shaq is, and actually Shaq has a pretty good hook shot, and was, (when he was young), fast and athletic for someone so large.

I actually think Shaq as a person is a thug, and i love Hakeem, but come on Shaq is more then just a really strong, fat guy. Or atleast he was.

  • Chamberlain and Shaq were fairly similar- very great players, bigger than everyone else, and terrible shooters.

  • @Kurasuke you obviously never watched shaq because you would know that he was one of the greatest passers at his height.

  • @mhernandez94 Oh yeah, he was a good passer. I didn't meant to say 10 months ago that he wasn't. From a scoring perspective, he didn't need any creativity or skill- he would just push his way to the hoop.

And no, Chuck Hayes is not the best post-defender in the NBA. That's preposterous.

  • @Kurasuke i said one of them. you need to learn how to read bro.

  • @mhernandez94 Actually, you said that he's "probably the best." I can read fine. You need to learn to write what you mean. He's a good post defender, but not probably the best. According to synergy sports, Chuck Hayes ranked 24th among centers in points allowed per possession (PPP) in post-up situations. I know that synergy isn't the final word on everything, but he doesn't even rank as being good at it. His defenders score easily on him. Dwight, Timmy, Horford, Nene, Perk all rank at the top.

  • @Kurasuke oops i read my other comment lol my bad. but hayes is a very underrated defender. considering his size, he does an outstanding job of making it the hardest to score the ball for centers. you should watch one of his highlight mixes here on youtube. and btw dwight and nene don't belong there on your list. overrated defenders. and don't make dwight's 2 un-earned DPLOY awards his excuse. all he does is block shots... if he doesn't foul, which is rare.

  • @mhernandez94 I didn't make up the list. It's the Synergy list of points per possession allowed. Dwight and Horford both allow well under .8 PPP in post up situations. Nene is under .9. .9 is equivalent to shooting 45%. Hayes is at .92. I was simply reporting these numbers to you- if anything, Hayes is the overrated defender. It's actually really easy to score on him, but he gets a lot of steals. I think his defensive +/- is really good or something, though.

  • really? cuz he only won when jordan was out of the league

  • I love it when people invent irrelevant arguments to justify their positions. This is the most specious point ever. You ALWAYS play against whoever is playing AT THAT TIME. So all baseball since Babe Ruth should have an asterisk? Any NHL wins outside of Gretsky's era are suspect? Ok, then Jordan didn't play against Dr. J in his prime or Wilt or Russell. Just as ridiculous an argument.

  • and they say yao is a skilled center

  • Just Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dream put David in the popcorn machine

  • A thing of beauty

  • he went fast.

  • That one of the greatest moves ever in the post. I learnd how to do it and it my fav one to use in the post. It works more than half of the time.

  • That was beautiful. Is there anything more beautiful in basketball than watching a big-man go to work?

  • The Dream Shake! Olajuwon vs. Robinson. "The Admiral" won the MVP that season, but Olajuwon showed him who the real MVP is in this series! This is a video i've been trying to find for a while! I know this took place during the 1995 Western Conference Finals and that Houston beat San Antonio in six games, but does anybody know which game this was taken from?

  • It was game 5.

  • Thanks for your help! Have a great day!

  • It was Game 2

    watch?v=BYFV06e2blE

    4:10 - 4:16

  • The Dream Shake at its best right there

  • I love this move. People love the crazy dunks and all that, these are my favorite kind of basketball highlights

  • Damn

  • Lol good thing you know basketball.

  • If you dont know who this is maji, then you dont even know the first thing about the game.

  • thats the dumbest shit ive heard, and dumbass i was talking about the posers comment, not the players

  • if you dont know who the fuck this guy is....you shouldn't be watching this video....

  • ywilt chamberlain

  • ummmm

TWO OF THE GREATEST CENTERS TO EVR PLAY IN THE NBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Olajuwan is the best ever. Go Phi Slama Jama!

  • Amen !

  • I spent hours as a kid trying to perfect that move. Never happened. I miss getting to watch THE DREAM.

  • cool its awesome that he did that without accidentaly travelling he's awesome without a doubt that he's the best Center that ever lived

  • my idol growing up and the best big man ever. Wilt had more power, kareem had more finese, but hakeem was a mixture of power, finese, and grace. and could shoot, from the 93-94 season he once hit 6 threes in a row, how many centers have ever done that?

He never got as much pub because of his foreign. Could you imagine if he was raised in america? he would be as popular as jordan, and also he didnt pick up a ball until he was 15!

  • Will, all you have to do it watch the ball, he did not travel. He did that move for 15 years, please...get a life dude.

  • Also, he has a foot planted the entire time dipshit.

  • he kept his pivot foot

  • He has such fuckin' good foot work!!

  • Drob couldn't even see where he was going

  • wow... just a amazing move... so fast

  • ...i would also like to add --- there were only 4 recorded quadruple doubles in NBA history---both Hakeem and david are in the party---but there should have been a 5th recorded quadruple double once again belonging to hakeem but the league refused to fix the mistake!

  • true dat, they only awarded him 9 assists. the other two people to do it were nate thurmond and alvin robertson (who did it with steals instead of blocks)

  • Actually no, only Alvin Robertson ever did it with steals. Nate Thurmond's quad was with 12 blocks.

  • I know, that's why I followed Robertson's name with the parenthesis, sorry for the confusion (it's hard to convey correct pauses through text), but I am quite aware of Thurmond's quad with 12 blocks.

  • Actually, Olajuwon did it twice! They reviewed the film the next day and took an assist away! Would they have even looked at it had it been MJ?

  • good god

  • best move ever

  • OWNED!!

  • I love that move

  • You spoiled this video by putting Bynum's name near Hakeem's,

  • @jeedah123 Wynona Bynum

  • lol dude im a huge laker fan.... never miss a game even when i work.... but bynum will never do that.....

  • Bynum being the next to do that? The same Bynum who puts up games like 0 points 5 fouls against 6'4'' scrubs like Chuck Hayes? HAHAHAHA!!

  • @realrocky8591 if you ever even watched basketball, you would know that chuck hayes is probably the best post defender in the nba.

  • @realrocky8591 Doubt It. Bynum is gonna wreck the league

  • @EDDIE90510

LOL, if he was in on this dream shake play, he'd probably break his own ankles and be out for 2 seasons minimum.

  • @realrocky8591 chuck hayes is the best defensive center/PF in the league

  • The only way that David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, and Tim Duncan have any chance of being equal to Hakeem is if The Dream took a shit and they ate it, allowing a fraction of Hakeem's greatness to be transferred to them.

Unfortunately, they are not even remotely worthy of eating his shit.

  • very nice example...

  • HaHaHa :) Good One

  • @realrocky8591 You're very rational.

  • wow !!! dream move

  • When i see this move, I get chills

    so cold

  • Hakeem = GOAT center? I think so ...

  • That was just plain filthy.

  • This is one of the most replayed NBA highlights during the 90s

  • owned!

  • lol olujawan frikin pwned robinson all those years.

  • haha this guy is boss

  • Yeah he had the stats and the rings but the only reason why he functioned on the Bulls and the Pistons was because of (#1)Jordan and (#2)the fact that he was still in the right frame of mind in Detroit. He did things however he wanted at the expense of the team. He was a cancer. Look at the past 10 years. No one wanted him despite winning 5 rings because they knew what they were getting. Even Jordan admitted having problems working with him. Stats dont mean a thing if you cant work with people.

  • The REAL 1995 MVP. Admiral will ALWAYS be Hakeem's BITCH.

  • owned!!!

  • Olajuwon = god

    and hall of famer!

  • olajuwon is amazing....there aren't many players that can take over a game these days, especially big men.

  • ppl can say they want about david robinson but the fact is, david wasnt a bad center at all, its just one of those times u run into a force that is just better then u. u gotta remember hakeem has been playing with mostly average team mates most of his career, but u see just how much more dangerous he is when u have another go to guy like drexler.

  • If only hakeem had a drexler or a barkley in his young days damn it would be such a scary thing for the league. This is how i look at all the great players.

jordan had pippen and phil jackson.

Russel Had Prolly the best surrounding cast in nba history and was playing at a time when the league wasnt as good.

Shaq and Kobie had each other and a good surrounding cast same goes for duncan.

Where hakeem won his rings with an average group and an old drexler.

  • What ppl seem to oversee about hakeem and the way he won his 2 championships is the surround cast he had to win these rings with and how many tough teams he had to face just to get to the finals just to meat another great team such as the knicks and there awesome surrounding cast and patrick ewing and orlando who had an awesome team aswell with shaq and penny hardaway. This is why hakeem in my opinion is the best center to play the game and id rank him second best all around player next to MJ.

  • i disagree. the average player puts forth the average effort. he played in a team full guys that wanted it more than the opposition...and the first was without the "old drexler"

  • no it's just you calling someone an overated pussy without feeling any kind of remorse is what made me write such comment

  • retarded or something?

  • You cant blame David for all the problems with that team. David put that franchise on his back for 10 years until Tim came. Olajuwan was much more dominant for one thing and David had a poor supporting cast. They also didnt have any good defensive scheme wich is why Pop took over(Thank God). If there is anyone who bailed out on the team it was Rodman. And if you watched the 99 team David had stones alright spearheading the defense on a 15-2 title team. .

  • @Saibecc1 Robinson was a PF who played center. Olajuwon was a true center. Like a daddy playing his son

  • No, thats why he's the Nigerian Nightmare

  • Olajuwon will always be better than shaq because he based his dominance on pure skill and talent. Of course, the players who were also like this are jordan, kobe and mcgrady.

I wouldn't put lebron nor shaq in it because they base their dominance on strength. This means once they get to around 28, their prime will not be as good as their younger years, unlike players like jordan.

  • That is sick.

  • I remeber watching this and thinking that a man his size shouldn't be able to move like that, it seemed unreal.

  • I remeber watching this and thinking that a man his size shouldn't be able to move like that, it seemed unreal.

  • I have never seen a center move like he did.

  • harrybinladen

shut the fuck up with the gay shit, you fucking idiot

  • This was a team effort.Remember Robinson getting double and triple teamed when he had the ball.Robinson wasn't getting help.Vinny Del Negro and Chuck Person were missing open shots badly.Avery Johnson couldn't hit a jumper outside a layup and Rodman played like he didn't want to play for the Spurs anymore and coach Bob Hill didn't make the right calls a coach should thats why he got fired and that's why he lost the following year to the Jazz he did have a good team to beat Houston.

  • Yeah right...

David Robinson in series: 23.8 points 11.3 rebounds 2.7 assists 1.5 steals

Hakeem Olajuwon in series: 35.3 points 12.5 rebounds 5.0 assists 4.1 blocks 1.3 steals

    Game 1: Olajuwon: 27 pts - Robinson 21 pts

    Game 2: Olajuwon: 41 pts - Robinson 32 pts

    Game 3: Olajuwon: 43 pts - Robinson 29 pts

    Game 4: Olajuwon: 20 pts - Robinson 20 pts

    Game 5: Olajuwon: 42 pts - Robinson 22 pts

    Game 6: Olajuwon: 39 pts - Robinson 19 pts

The difference was Olajuwon vs Robinson!!!

  • ningun centro en la liga podia con el Robinson no era la excepción

  • Hakeem The Dream? Yeah, cos David Robinson is seeing a nightmare.

  • I would love to see the so called greatest center of all time shaq attempt to do that

  • the title sounds like it will be gay, lol

  • ROFL!

  • robinson was good man. but that playoff series really engraved who was the better player. olajuwon was a champion who took over games no matter who (including the admiral) tried to stop him, robinson was just a good player.

ps. i know he won later, but that was duncans team.

  • Hakeem is smooth. Silky smooth.

His moves are so smooth, you'd think Duncan and his fundamentals were performed by a robot.

  • duh, shaq got wasted. 4-O sweep. what's that I hear? Sweeeeep.

That shut them up back in 1995.

  • Hakeem was the best once Jordan left, for the next two three years. at the time there was arguments...but now it's much clearer. The rockets' playoff run culminating in the sweep of the Magic in the finals was legendary - they were the fifth seed in the west, the lowest seed ever to win an NBA championship. And remember, Hakeem was America's favorite - a muslim!

  • The Rockets were actually the sixth seed. Hakeem owned Robinson -- the "Admiral" never would have won a title without Duncan.

  • ah, my mistake. sixth seed. exactly...

  • Robinson was all over olajuwon forever and no one can forget that. and anyone who says otherwise has no idea what they are talking about

  • Lol, who started to cry after that Dream swept and dominated him back in 95? Shaq's the answer to that queston.

  • hakeem = the real 1995 MVP.
