  • I have 9 bootlegs on CD I got them off Ebay of all places years ago when they weren't quite so hot on bootlegs, one is mislabelled and is obviously Brad Gillis, however the rest are RR but the quality is no better than this, although one from LA is quite good. Ozzy manages to fuck up the lyrics on just about every cd!

  • Cool you added the live clip into the video !

    R.I.P Randy

  • ozzy has a real issue with singing in this song! it sucks! as ffor randy< awesome!

  • Great video but where did the audio come from to make it a complete video????

  • Phenomenal! Of course Randy is incredible, but listen to the sound of the snare and bass drum on this! Holy Shit!

  • for me this song goes on the sould'nt have been live list. The studio version was tuned up so damn high that it was hard to pull of live. This is one of the better performances

  • best live performance of over the mountain

  • who's that walking behind the drummer at 4:51

  • I'm surprised Ozzy's not fucking dead. He should be, all the shit he polluted his body with.

  • def

  • ozzy's voice is not that bad considering his condition at the time...one "bad" performance does not mean that ozzy sucks. the combination of rabies shots (which hurt like a bitch) drinking, smoking (which kills the voice anyways) and the drugs added up to take down his voice. After the shots and ozzy tried to clean up(emphasis on the try) his voice did come back, maybe better than before...

  • I think Ozzy messed up lyrics, but I Dont Care. Love you Ozzy and Randy. R.I.P Randy.

  • Amen

  • I was at this show like 40 rows back unfortunately.

  • Saw the same show in Madison, WI. FUCKIN' UNREAL.

  • He messes up the lyrics so bad...

  • @Livewire8195 Big time. Randy was good, but the audio wasn't all that great. have never been impressed with Ozzy. The guitarists always made Ozzy popular - Rhoads, Gillis, Lee, Wylde, etc. Ozzy is also a terrible performer and THIS is what people say is great performance? Utter bullshit! Ozzy can't touch Dio in singing or stage presence/performance.

  • @DiamondDEK i haven't heard it yet, im abut to, but i agree with wut u say abut him. its his guitarist that makes him look good.

  • Ozzy's voice always cracked, check the after hours Crazy Train video.

  • ozzy's voice seems out of it

  • Because back then he smoked cigarettes alot.

  • and worse

  • @rockmusicfansonly

This was only a couple of days after he bit the head off of the bat in Des Moines.

They never found it, and bats are known to carry rabies, so they made Ozzy take rabies shots, and they made him really, really sick. Couple that with all of his substance abuse and smoking, and you get his voice cracking like this.

This is also a very difficult song to sing, especially for Ozzy, So that's why it's first in the set.

  • @shytownmofo Actually my parents went to the concert after he bit the head off the bat; the concert lasted very shortly, he passed out after saying "Over the Mountain"

  • @blacksabbathfan007 Seriously?! xD what happened? Why did he pass out?

  • @Pala16123z0r The rabies.

  • As it usually did. Dio must have been laughing his ass off when he heard this!

  • ha! dio would be nowhere without ozzy. actually, he would be in an opera. no ozzy = no metal

  • 2:52 HOLY SHIT OZZY WAT THE HELL THE HAIR,SIDEBURNS,HIS MOUTH LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! funny moment

  • Ozzy at 1:53 was hilarious

  • the music is diary of a madman the son g over the mountains Iwas a rosemant for this show

  • So did they pretty much always open with the end of Diary of a madman and then Over the mountain? Cause Diary is at the beggining of pretty much all the live recording of Over the mountain.

  • For the diary tour they did

  • Do you know what song they would usually open the Blizzard shows with? Thanks.

  • They started the shows on the Blizzard tour with "Carmina Burana" which led into I Don't Know."

  • I can picture it. That would be a great intro. Thanks very much!

  • Comment removed

  • Dalsia is 100% correct. Carmina Burana opened the shows, after which the band launched into I Don't Know. The intro you hear in this vid is the Diary tour opening... The audio tape of Diary into Over the Mountain. There's tons of boots out there that confirm this.

  • love this song, but here it sounds like crap

  • hahaha, technology? woodstock was in 1969. go look for information.

  • Comment removed

  • no, dumbass. I´m gonna explain. I was joking of you, cause you said technology wasn´t very good in 1982, so I said that woodstock was in 1969 and there are very good recordings from that time, I´m not talking about only woodstock, but you can find good recordings, for example, of several hendrix´s concerts, recordings made even by people from the crowd. It impresses me to see the avarage american guys´ dumbness.

  • Comment removed

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA. IDIOT! GO LEARN TO READ. I had explained myself. If you read, you ´ll see that I said: "even recording from the crowd". SO, WHO IS THE DUMBASS HERE? I wasn´t talking about professional recording. Go look for information, american potato fart.

  • only if your mother went along with me

  • crap

  • DUUUUDE Ozzy actually SANG Over the Mountain on this one. That officially makes this one the best show from DOAM tour. Shame its such low quality

  • No, this is Over The Mountain.

  • R.I.P Randy Rhoads

  • Sounds like they're all drunk.

  • I think the only wild card was no bone movies, they never strayed from the set list.Only in the first 2 months with Lee and Bob did they really jam.

  • Great video. It makes me wonder what the cameraman was doing during the first half of the song lol.

  • probably sneaking in lol

  • Ozzy's DOAM tour and Bob Dylans Rolling Thunder Revue are my most painful misses.

God intervened on Diary of a Madman. It is just a perfect record. Thanks for the upload.

    Any news on the RR-documentary?

  • i heard from a few sources that it will be done sometime around september 2009. aparently, they have basically all their material, but they haven't really organized it. this might not be completely true though. Check the documentary's official myspace. its the director's page, so it should be accurate. Hope i helped =)

  • Sorry i was reading these comments and i saw yours. So, like, are you saying that theres a rumor the Randy footage will be released next year?

  • i have had enough of LIVE zakk to last me 10 lifetimes... fuck zakk - gimme randy RIP

  • With Zakk you only need ONE copy cuz with Zakk it is ALWAYS THE SAME!!! Its boring because Zakk plays it the same every time.

Randy was amzing RIP and he was able to experiment every once in a while.

  • I have listened and loved this song a lot of times but noticed a quality of the first scales at 4:27,I can feel Randy emulating his clasical theory with a creativity and talent that leaves musicians and peers alike in awe of what the third album would have sounded like.I can only guess it would have elaborate and wild offerings.

  • "what the third album would have sounded like.I can only guess it would have elaborate and wild offerings. "

The third album featuring Randy Rhodes would have sounded a bit more like Holy Diver...seeing as Randy was leaving the band and was scheduled to meet with Ronnie James Dio (and others)..He was not staying with Ozzy.

  • to meet dio? wrong he was going to leave for a classical degree. hed never leave ozz for dio. if you heard one of the jams randy had thats probably what the next album wouldve sounded like

  • 4:27

  • $:27,grinding that scale makes me left in awe,and the screaming by the girls when solo begins!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Daisley was the rock..killer bass lines!!

  • horrible vocals

  • "horrible vocals "

Uh...This was a good night for Ozzy...But had you attended this concert...you wouldn't of cared...it was a great show everytime these guys were on stage....The vocals were never good...Not even during the latter years of Sabbath...You dont go to an Ozzy show to hear good singing.

  • reason? randy wasnt tuned down. idk y im guessing he forgot or somthing but thts the reason ozzy had to sing a pitch higher which is really hard.

  • reason? randy wasnt tuned down. idk y im guessing he forgot or somthing but thts the reason ozzy had to sing a pitch higher which is really hard"

It was hard for Ozzy and Randy to not inhibit or trample eachother...That was the source of Randy's frustration...He was looking in other directions within rock and in some directions in classical music...definately not looking forward with Ozzy and Sharon

  • thts incorrect. he was completly looking at classical music, after touring he would go to ucla and get a degree in classical music, he might have gone back to ozzy, but he definitly would have gotten a degree in classical music, he also wanted to be known and big.

  • wow, this was less than two months before his death.

  • Great lyrics by Bob Daisley

  • randy is THE man

  • Randy is the best. Always has been, & always will be. Rest in peace with the angels my freind, we love & miss ya Randy.

  • in life randy often seeked out local classical guitar teachers for lessons. Now, Jesus seeks out randy for lessons.

  • @VamLestat616 His music and playing instantly captivated me at my first time hearing BOO and DOAM! That was about 3 years before I even thought I might want to play the guitar too! He could channel his entire being into his playing and we're so lucky to have these small moments caught in the studio and cut to vinyl. His playing is so intense in places that it seems as though he's right there still. His musical persona made immortal through his own doing!

  • hey RRTribute on what channel is the documentary gonna be on?

  • i wish they played diary of a madman live

  • Ozzy did play DOAM live a few times when Joe Holmes on guitar.

  • its a shame randy didnt play it live. i wish i would se him play more songs live like tonight little dolls and SATO

  • Yeah. It is possible they could've played Little Dolls on tour. I really agree with you dude.

  • who knows, maybe theyll show Rhoads playing thoses songs in the movie about him

  • Do you hear that song live?

can you help me to find that song please?

    Greetings!

  • of Little Dolls live with Randy? if that is the song you are asking for live...no bootleg was ever surfaced to have that song on the setlist...but i have heard a rumor that they did play LD on a couple shows but it has not been confirmed yet

  • Little Dolls was never played live.

  • awsome!

  • i thort i herd ozzy voice give up on him, lol poor ozzy, it happened 2 him wen i went 2 c him in march, oh well he still rocks

  • That was really cool!

  • I think the collest part about it is how it goes into the bootleg from 82.

  • Dude where did you get this.

  • leuk liedje

  • I'm glad you all liked it.

    Rest in peace Randy Rhoads

  • you've done well! but do you have tonight from DOAM

  • On tape?

    No..

  • ok but what about little dolls?

  • nothing from side two was ever performed live

  • This is so cool! Thanx for the post. I remember the day I heard about Randy's passing. Sad day for everyone.

  • This video just melted my fucking speakers!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent. Well Done, this is a 5 star film :)

  • SWEET!

  • Awesome.
