  • Not trolling, but a major concern that I have not seen you mention in your videos is personal fitness. I understand you hike, walk trails etc. but I just noticed your breathing hard bending over grabbing items, and moving around. I again, mean no disrespect, but if it's possible, fitness is always a good idea.

  • @Stein0mite what you bring up is actually an awesome comment. When i was reviewing some of my recent videos I noticed that myself, and was pretty disturbed by it. I joined a gym about a month ago and put myself on a diet. I've got some footage started and am documenting my progess for some videos down the line. Thank you for your comment, because prepping is completely in vain if you are not staying healthy. Thanks for watching!

  • @Bushcraft412 glad to hear. I have been out of the military for about two years, and gradually gained weight myself. From a solid 220, to 260. Nobody really said anything to me, and one day I was looking at pictures and I was like WTF. I have since gotten back to 220, and work out regularly. Best of luck, and keep at it.

  • Only trouble with ramen and a lot of canned food is the sodium content , which is tyically through the roof. Never mind what it does to your blood pressure, but all that salt really screws with your thirst. And if water is at a premium, who the heck wants to be thirsty all the time?? Sure, we need _some_ salt, probably even a little more salt than usual cuz our activity levels will be higher so we'll be sweating more, but still...READ LABELS!

  • @AnnBearForFreedom I have actually been rotating my stock of canned good and adding alot of "no salt added" veggies for just that reason. My blood pressure is very susceptible to sodium and have had problems in the past and have had to change my diet. This change in my diet has slowly been trickling down into my prepping and I am trying to make healthier choices with what I store. Thank you for the very valid point, and thanks for watching!

  • @Bushcraft412 Sodium for me causes me to swell up like a poisioned pup (as my dad used to say), which in turn, does bad things to my blood pressure. It ain't easy or cheap to 'prep healthy', but its a choice that has to be made and an expense that has to be endured. Keep on keepin' on!

  • LOL..This guy is doomed !!

  • If you can't throw a few sticks in an empty can of beans and make fire..., shoot yourself, it will feed a family of four for a week.

  • Yes $100 but in $5 dollars bills not $20s you have to think about change and Not over pay for a $5 item with a $20 plus garden hoses for fire to screw into both inside and out for fire or to store water // Bleach know that swimming pool bleach 5:1 water to bleach to make the house hold bleach water proof containers not plastic bends

  • Don't sacrifice nutrition for prep. time. Have a good mix in your food storage and figure 2000 cal./person per day as you prep. Too many grab what is quick, convenient and CHEAP rather than what is nourishing enough to sustain them and allow them to thrive when they are emotionally and physically stressed (such as a longer term disaster).

  • @BonnieBlue2A I agree, I have a shit-ton of vitamins on hand..whenever I see a sale on vitamins or w/e it may be..I buy it. For those ppl who don't have much cash and want to see their money go a long way, I'd suggest dollar store vitamins and the like. They last a really long time. The stuff I got though is premium as I won't sacrifice quality for quantity..unless it would be to sell. I don't think society will end, it will go dictatorship with martial law first & mass killing.

  • @snowfallzz While I agree that vitamins should be part of any prepper's food storage plan it is important to note that the body absorbs vitamins better from whole foods rather than vitamins. For example, one can take vitamin C sup. and still be deficient whereas the real citrus, berries, etc... will keep them from deficiency. Again this is where quality of food storage and alternative sources to supplement food storage (gardening, hydroponics, aquaculture, etc...) come into play.

  • @BonnieBlue2A I agree with that.. I was thinking more about high concentrates and long term storage though. As for most vitamins and minerals the companies screw the people by using heavey metals and fillers which the body can't break down.. In an old Seasilver commercial they would talk about the sewers in Major metropolitan cities and how they would corrode with undigested vitamins. eeew.. But in the larger picture liquids or food is better yes I agree. Especially with enzymes.

  • @BonnieBlue2A it would make a good video to have someone live solely on their SHTF food supplies and keep a log as to their weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc... see if there are any long term effects of eating all that dry/canned goods. All that sodium cant be good.

  • Excellent vid. Lots of great advice and ideas. Thanks

  • "It's the equivalent of sterno." Funny. Not exactly a glowing endorsement!

  • Great vid. Thanks!
