Blaine Thanks for the fast response.installed new CDI sled running good just need rain to stop to fine tune carbs. Curious if sled should run with one wire removed. will do so but only with the wire that comes out of the left side of the coil [when seated on machine] was told that sled should stop if either wire is removed ? Oh by the way keep making the video's they are great!!
BlaineDP I have a 90 440 pantera only running on 1 cyl .New plugs/boots/coil.clean carbs, tried switching carbs back and forth no change.problem moves to other cylinder when wires are switched around.when both plugs are removed from cylinders and are hooked to wires they both spark???tried tss bypass plug/and jumper on 4 prong plug,no change.triangle plug ohms @ 17 & 1145 ohms???Any suggestions , CDI ??
Actually your stator ohms are good. For that specific model stator (they didin't use it on a lot of sleds over a lot of years) they specs are actually 1190 and 15 so you're in the right spot for ohm readings. If it is a spark issue, could be cdi or trigger/pulser coil. I am also assuming that you checked compression.
@jeffb8074 its a 96 zr 580 arctic cat, just wondering just in case something goes wrong with i may be albe to figure it out lol, have been doing alot of research, anything bad about these sleds ???
I had people a little confused about testing a clear plastic 4 plug (1998-1999 ZR 500/600 carb) to a triangular 3 plug (early 1990's) to a rectangular clear plastic 3 plug (late 90's EFI) so I made 3 more videos showing at least how to test each of them.
