This worked perfectly, thanks so much for posting. I was going mad trying to remove the flywheel nut on my Ducati and came accross this post, worked first time after trying everything else!! hardest part was finding some rope. I love these kinds of tricks, cheers.

I have heard of this method but haven't seen it done. Thanks for posting it i guess i am going to try it out gotta replace the harmonic balancer on my crown victoria 4.6 v8

@MrBigc6765 Most times on V8 you won`t need to there`s enough compression but be carefull you don`t bend a valve loosen in a counter clockwise rotation use half inch yellow rope Thanks for watching .

@turneynicholas Oh I don`t think so -A lot of people don`t realize this stop the piston from going to TDC --Top Dead Center and one can remove tight bolts and nuts on the crank --Just be careful on some valved engines make sure that you use at least 1/2 inch rope .

I am pleased to see that some one else still remembers and uses this trick/technique. I have told and shown this trick to many people over the years and they thought it was stupid. It's the best way to get a stuck component off including a blade off a lawnmower instead of using a piece of wood. Thank You for posting it.
