  • Great cover of a great classic by the GREATEST folk-rock band of all time! Yeah!

"Dr Byrds & Mr Hyde" was an awesome overlooked album. My favorite.

I also really dig "The Notorious Byrd Bros".

  • Thank You!

  • @yahowa57

You're very welcome! Thanks so much for the comment!

  • The dog at 2:50 looks like my Bailey. We rescued her almost 2 months ago and while it's a bit harder taming a dog that's already 2 and can't ever be off the leash she's the absolute best

  • @rhcpdave

That is a good looking dog! Cool that you got a rescue dog......what an amazing thing free, yet priceless! Thanks for the comment!

  • Lost my yellow lab, "Ben," a few years ago.

Hard to think of trying again, for now.

    Another great video.

    Thanks Jon.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7

Yeah, it's always so hard....just have to always remember the joyful times our companions have brought us when we're going through that pain. Thanks for the comment, Rock!

  • my dog of 7 years passed yesterday....i miss him so much..

  • @williamiswilliam1

I know. Losing one of our little loyal and loving companions after years of being together is a soul wrenching experience...they are always there for us and when they're not, the sense of emptiness and loss can be extreme. Try to replace the loss you feel with recollections of the joy and happiness of the years you spent together.

    Wishing you the best. Thanks.

  • @SonicWaves777

I feel truly sorry for those people who go through life without ever making a (what other word is there for it) spiritual connection with a dog. They exhibit all the traits that so many humans lack.....loyalty and never ending love. Gotta say something for those qualities. Thanks for the comment!

  • My band played this tune in the early 70s, it was always one of my favorites. And yes, I LOVE my APBT Koko!!! Thanks for posting.

  • @t17burroughsfarms

The song definitely connects deeper with dog-lovers and it's nice to hear from them. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG HOLY CRAP BEAUTIFUL BECUZ I LOVE MY DOG THIS MUCH =)

  • @TheCopperhound84

I love this song too and made the video because the song has offered me comfort in the past when I lost one of my old friends. Thanks for commenting and I'm happy you liked it!

  • @TheCopperhound84 DOGS ARE GREAT. BETTER THEN PEOPLE

  • I love the Byrds and have always loved this song. Brings a tear to the eye. I look forward someday to seeing my dog in heaven, too.

  • @ssuzyd1st

For those fortunate enough to make a connection with a dog there is understanding that the loyalty and friendship they possess is beyond that of human capacity and losing a such a dog brings extreme emotional distress......your dog is part of you, always has been, always will be (everything is one in the universe).....and the realization that comes with our passing will re-enlighten us of that fact.

Didn't mean to get all philosophical! LOL! Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Rock On, Blue!

    Roll On, Bugler!

Clarence, still the man. Rock On, Clarence!

  • @BustardBuzzard

Clarence White does some beautiful guitar work on the Dr. Byrds album......gone too soon. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Absolutely beautiful video. I've been friends with Roger McGuinn and his wife Camilla for years. I told Roger, that I named one of my Big Red Irish Setters "Blue" just because of the song. Since then I've got "Blue" #2 and he's sitting here next to me listening to the tune! Good job guys!

  • @wildbilco55

Thanks greatly for the generous comment! I would imagine that Roger is a great person. I've listened to and loved his music for decades, of course. Very cool for you to name, not just one, but two, Red Setters after this song!

It's not a well-known track, but dog lovers will surely enjoy the song..maybe the vid will help it find a few more fans get more recognition. It's helped me through the loss of several of my little buddies in the past. Thanks again to you and "Blue #2"!
