Ever think they're just two guys who like to play music? Why do so many people find it necessary to always make a a comparison or a criticism. It's obvious they enjoy themselves. Ultimately that's what matters. What someone looks like is irrelevant to me. That's why I wish I lived in an age before television and internet. I could listen to a song through a radio or on a record player and have no idea what those people looked like.

The Avetts are 31 and 35 years old. Just because they're skinny now doesn't mean they don't know hard work. I've seen a photograph of scott when he was 18 and he looked like a college football safety (He even had college offers for soccer). They grew up working on their farm and Scott worked on his father's welding crew for years as a young man. But they've been living as musicians for the better part of the last decade and their bodies have leaned out. It doesn't mean they don't know hard work.

I swear Scott Avett works harder than you ever have, weather it be in his art, or his music. Human beings need artists.
