Dean was the VERY FIRST club celebrity I ever met in New York and he was the kindest sweetest person he gave me my first taste of NYC nightlife. This is before my little club kid moment with Michael & Keoki too. I met him at Slimelight he liked my Ramones t-shirt or something and from that moment on I used to go see the weenies. Dean is a fucking NYC icon I have to go cry now for a minute

I can hardly believe that Dean is dead. I remember him from when he first moved to NYC and became a doorman at Boy Bar. He was a sweet guy. When we met, he turned to our mutual friends and said "I can't believe it. You guys have FINALLY introduced me to a really hot guy". Talk about great pick-up lines! We never did have sex but became friends that day.
