Ignoring his "point" was intentional. Tautologies are useless, and saying "people can't see without the sun" would be 1) true but obvious or 2) false due to technology.
There is no "point" to making an obvious statement that boils down to "people need the sun to see", especially since its false.

I guess your exaggeration was to make point you seem intelligent; where I am coming from is we cannot allow eco-irrationality to rule science...
I don't believe in sacred cows, that does not mean we should not exercise care and preserve the value of unique places but we should not be stifled by irrational restrictions
Awesome video, just goes to show that Aliens are reality and would exist in different places created of different sources of energy. Hope to meet some this life time!
@M76Q5 Actually, O2 might have been there, trapped, like in the cave or even deeper. O2 can be found on strange places as basic molecules since the creation of the planet, just like on other planets, which have oxigen on their atmosphere but no registered (we have not found them) sources of life capable of photosyntesis. They'd lived there for millions of years. Maybe this cave creatures are dependable on photosyntehsis from other creatures above, but not directly need photosynthesis to survive.
@ZbassDJ I read that the water in this caves has no oxygen. The oxygen comes from the surface and is about 1/3 of the atmospheric concentration within these caves air.
That is an excellent question Nate - I'll give it a thumb up :P
A: I've had a challenging year: reflecting on myself, redefining who I want to be and how I ought to act, react. Some people getting out of my life, new ones coming into it. Then I moved to a new apartment... that kind of year. Bottom line, I needed time to create some new goals for my life. Meanwhile, the desire to "broadcast myself" (as YT would say) anywhere online was low.

being able to live without sun maybe, but being able to see without sun is a negative roger!

@TheBullShitaki
Its not difficult to see without the sun. Snakes do this.
drche420 1 year ago
@drche420 Are we reptiles, no. Are we snakes? no. XD and i go back on that, unless they find a new way to keep plants alive.

@drche420
Does the fact that we are not snakes somehow refute my point? No.
You = #FAIL

@drche420 Of course, I could be missing something.

so no actions where taken to prevent contamination of this ecosistem?
scareface999 2 years ago
if it was based on H2S it wouldnt really matter, H2S is toxic to most surface organisms.

Get over yourself... This eco system has been around a long time it is strong probably very strong.
nextthought 2 years ago
good point yes eco system unexposed by human flesh for long time
what if there was a deadly flesh eating virus amongst all that algae and he brings it back up to the surface ending humanity Nooooooo lol
search up lake vostok to understand my comment then search for the deadliest virus's found in antarctica
okuma0kuma 2 years ago
I read a scientific American article about Lake Vostok several years ago... Most of the other stuff that is availible is weak...
Tell me exactly what you are reffering too.
A high sulfar enviorment to the best of my knowledge is unlikely to have flesh eating bacteria and viruses need hosts
nextthought 2 years ago
exactly that was the point of the comment made

@ greenleaf81
It does not show that aliens are reality what so ever. It simply shows that life can evolve to a stage where sunlight is not needed.

Very good video. However, these animals need O2 for the chemosynthesis reaction:
CO2 + O2 + 4{H2S} → CH2O + 4{S} + 3{H2O}
This oxygen comes from outside the cave and is made by photosynthesis, so these animals do need light to survive. they just aren't in that light.
M76Q5 2 years ago 8
The Oxygen comes from underwater vents that carry the gas to the caves there is no light any where in this process.

@M76Q5 Could be posible taht any kind of being inside taht cave would create oxygen as a subproduct but yeah, well, not photosynthesis?
ZbassDJ 1 year ago
@M76Q5 without oxygen it would not be water it would just be hydrogen
MediaMisDirected 1 year ago
@M76Q5 What if these animals used nitrogen as protons acceptor instead of oxygen ?

Excellent video, and an excellent insight into the incredible insights first presented to the 'light' by Darwin.
As Jeff Goldblum said in that oh so inane movie:
'Life will find a way.'
