I would like to point out. As a resident of NOLA, though I'm only 21, I have been attending Mardi Gras since I was six weeks old. I also rode in Mardi Gras for a about 6 years, and I plan to do it again. Mardi Gras is still family oriented. I love tourists for visiting and stimulating the New Orleans economy each year, but they are the ones leading y'all to believe Mardi Gras is a "trash" festival. In the French Quarter, tourists look for any excuse to expose themselves and be drunk in public.

What a difference 50 years makes. Very sad to see it look so family friendly, only to know what it has become today.
