The thing is that it's really fucking hard to focus in on just his playing when you've got everything else playing. Especially if you're like me and don't know shit and can't tell the difference between James' and Richey's guitar.
Richey only mimed in the real early days.. he got a lot better at the end, which is why he's turned up so loud here. There's one video floating around where James' guitar dies during Motown Junk and Richey plays about half the song by himself. :)
too bad... that most of "man-un-kind" would never understand this. The passion/fury, the ferocious delivery of the "live set"... the poke at PiL (if you know about THEM, you know that everything is a poke... a hint, or a reference) the wardrobe selection and the image projected all connect. Watch this twice... and take it all in. BEAUTIFUL!
wtf @ 1:01?!? JDB's guitar suddenly drops to about half volume. Can the sound man not tell he's playing all the main guitar parts? Almost ruins a stunning performance
@BeenyG i think it's the recording just quietening to be honest - sean loses the 'snap' to his drums too, and listen to nicky's bass compared to the opening bars - damn i wish i'd been there though....
Oh shit, Richey actually playing guitar instead of miming! It actually sounds pretty nice if you focus in on it. Shame he didn't play often, but his lyrical genius definitely made up for that in spades.
Heart-Stopping! Great quality upload my friend, better than other Manics i've seen from this period. Please put up more if you have other songs from this gig? 5/5
What happened to the sound at 1:00... :(

i was down at the front and believe me it was awesome. the best performance of Glasto'94. Shame Richey would only be with us for another 8 months.
