  • i love the arcade on my xbox :)

  • WOW!! Finally! I remember playing this years ago at an arcade years ago, but nobody believed me! I never remembered the name of it until now! Brings back memories! Thanks for the video!! Now I have proof, Damn it!!! Lol!!

  • @supernpr You're welcome!

  • It reminds me of Space Ace. it is really nice your video I love it.

  • @javieradrianchomer Thanks man! Where are you from?

  • I remember this from when I was young. The part where the robot zaps you and "robotizes" you used to freak me out.

  • If I ever see this on DVD, I will pick it up, I've already god Mad Dog McCree and Space Ace, as well as Dragon's Lair.

  • @TimNP61278 For what system? Sega CD?

  • @vintagevideogamegeek - no those games are on actual DVD! You can play on your (ANY) dvd player with you remote. or on the computer with your mouse. it's not the best in the world, but at least you can move your cross hair on the screen before the guys shoot. so you have a moment to react, before the guys shoot at you..

  • 8:13 I remember those ugly pants! They called them Jams. Even back then, I knew they were embarrassing as hell and there was no way I'd be caught wearing them.

  • @donniedarkodevotte Sadly, I had a pair. LOL

  • @vintagevideogamegeek

You're a bigger man to admit it. : D A lot of my classmates wore them, but I stuck with good old-fashioned Levi's 501.

  • @donniedarkodevotte Did you "tight roll" those jeans by any chance?

  • @vintagevideogamegeek

Ha! I did, actually. Hell, I just did that to a friend of mine's 3 year old son the other day. Of course, she didn't remember that being the thing to do because she's in her mid-20s.

  • @donniedarkodevotte Some are predicting it will come back into fashion one day. God help us all.

  • evil time lord? Is the Master after them?

  • OCD much? Such a 90s relic. Thx for upload.

  • @TheWickerMan1981 Just a little!

  • i remember seeing this at Six Flags Magic Mountain, way back in the early 90s

  • This games was so cool, but I hated it cause I sucked at it!

  • Great review! I had never heard of this one. I'm sure not seeing the machine in person really takes away from it. Even so, you can get this shipped to your house for $6.00 on eBay so I think I'm gonna take the chance. I mean, hell, it is a piece of history! Anyhow, I really like your reviews and have seen many, now another - I just don't comment much. Even so, fantastic job and keep up the good work!

  • @cheesystick1 Hey, thanks! If you end up getting the game, please let me know what you think of it!

  • They should have used one of the new round mouse(s) from apple

Then The three sixty motion would have been understood not assumed we were all up to date

    on time travel specs

  • They should have used one of the new round mouse(s) from apple

Then The three sixty motion would have been understood not assumed we were all up to dat eon time travel specs

  • Played this game at the arcade it likes quarters lots of them and simon says you pressed red not blue please purchase more time reversal cubes.

  • @spirittraps You ain't lyin'!

  • this was so amazing in the arcade

  • Such a cool game, and Im still fixated on the cowgirl in blue....

  • there's a arcade in houston (called joysticks) it's a bar/arcade opens 1-2 times a month the game room and has old school arcades and they are all for sale and they have this one as well as many other old school arcade games.

  • @remakeme How come it only opens once or twice a month?

  • @vintagevideogamegeek the bar is always open but the arcade opens the first saturday and last saturday of every month or something like that? I think it's mainly a showroom that sells and rent or repairs arcade games and on those saturdays everything is free to play.

  • @vintagevideogamegeek

I've never been to that place, but there's 2 other bars in Houston that have a bunch of old school arcades to play: Barcadia and Kung Fu Saloon. Kung Fu has free Skee Ball too.

  • @remakeme

    Cool.

  • I have been looking all over for this game because I use to play it as a kid back when there were still arcades everywhere! Damn this the the shit back then, brings back old times! :D

  • @sirfortiscue Yeah man! Check eBay for it. It usually goes for pretty cheap. You can even play it on your DVD player. I assume it would work on your computer as well.

  • i remember this as well. couldn't get that far. it was cool.

  • I remember playing this at the Primmadonna casino in Prim Valley like 15 years ago. It brings back the memories. I wonder if they still have that game there?

  • The Tragic flaw of these Quicktime games, is the lack of choice. While traditionally Quicktimes have one Correct player response and Many incorrect moves, I have made a prototype game of the opposite. Yes it is true, I have made games that I have animated 4 correct outcomes and 1 bad for EVERY MOVE! Yes it does mean animating EVERY possibility but I say, Why not? I don't know which is the reason they haven't done it yet in Mainstream gaming. Perhaps they just haven't thought of it, or money.

  • @stringanime Or maybe they just don't have your level of insight and dedication!

  • @vintagevideogamegeek That is what my brother thinks. I tell ya, it bothers me when I see Quicktime events in games and you know it would be so much better if instead of a RANDOM button flying up on the screen or a flash, just simply Animate all possibilities looping connecting in a cycle that the player can either figure out with Trial and Error or get kicked out of. I hate those No-room-for-Error Quicktimes, they are more like simon-says and don't carry the Dragon's lair Quicktimes forward.

  • God I remember this!!! so cool, and yet so annoying!!!

  • @nightmathzombieethan Yes, it's quite the paradox!

  • I hated this game so much as a kid. It took so many of my quarters because even though I couldn't stand it, I just HAD to beat it. Kind of like how the AVGN felt about the Karate Kid NES game. I never did beat the game either which makes me resent it even more

  • @AlbanianMan It's okay man. Let it out!

  • Sega's Deadliest Warrior :p

(yes i know this came first)

  • I posted the last comment before I watched the video and he covered everything I said. Sorry, don't scold me!

  • @Stevanhale It's cool. I never mentioned the part about it not being a "true hologram". You are dead on about that.

  • This DVD game could be played on your DVD player using the remote, and included a 3D version you could play with the red and blue glasses. The effect was o.k.(the larger the t.v., the better it was) and looked a little closer to the original "Hologram".(It wasn't a true Hologram, just reflected images). Still isn't as good as the arcade. Some of these are still for sale. The quarters I spent just buying time reversal cubes could have bought one of these games!

  • hey uploader!!! i think i might know from somewhere! your voice is so familiar! did u make any porn with hot looking girls? if so, hey, teach me ho to be a pimp like you please .........

  • hey commenter!!! no!

  • lame game.

  • Yes very ambitious game and I thought it was such a cool game when it came out. But it really had lackluster results. Were there other holo games??

Also, I thought the actors were pretty attractive. Hot indians!!

  • If there were I don't know of any. There was a conversion kit for Time Traveler that turned it into a fighter, but it wasn't with real people. It was basically like a holographic Street Fighter game.

  • Camera Obscura my friend!! Very interesting. Surely one of the most incredibly ambituous games ever created - on the surface. Dig deeper though and it all starts smellin of dog dirt though!! Very funny.....that kung fu dude was hilarious!!

  • How amazing is this video. Loving the wireframe background! Great review!

  • Great vid, I remember this game from back in the day and I can also remember spending a crap ton of games! Thanks Man for the trip done memory lane!

  • You're very welcome!

  • i sub to you now you sub

  • No.

  • Cool find. I didn't even know they made a home version of this! When this came out, my friend's dad worked for a vending company - we went to this vending machine distributer place like every day to play this game for free because it was in their showroom. The employees must have hated us! LOL

Anyhow, it's cool that the whole game seems to be intact in it's original form. Though it looses something without that hologram effect.

  • Ok, before I start watching the video I feel the need to comment... How the heck did you pull off reviewing Time Traveller?!? That thing's gotta be impossible to film! Plus you never see those machines anymore. I guess I better watch and find out. :D

  • that game looks trippy..the commentary during the gameplay was hilarious. early 90's hot chick..the fight acting was redunkulus good review man

  • Thanks man!

  • Very nicely done. I remember seeing one of those arcade machines a long time ago. I was still kid an the whole thing looked really whacked out to me. haha! Great video.

  • It is whacked. Some of the scenes in this...I wonder if everyone was on drugs....like the last scene has a floating head with red eyes....weird.

  • I played this back in the day in the arcade, it looked awesome being holographic, but it was way, way too hard..

  • Oh man, this game is impossible!

  • awesome video... nice to see that you've got more game storage... its no fun to collect something and then just put it in your closet...

  • Amen. What you see here is only a small piece of it. More to come later.

  • Great review! I loved this game as a kid, simply for its novelty. Just a week or so ago, I was actually looking for the cab on Craigslist.

  • That would be something. Are you sure you have room for that beast?!?!?!

  • Absolutely not! Haha, but I'd MAKE room!

  • 1:36 nice setup, my setup is just have the games everywhere lol

  • Nice review. Strange game. Arcade looks cool, but not so much the dvd version.

  • Thanks Dink.

  • I've never heard of this game or seen the arcade machine, but it looks very interesting and something i'd like to check out. welcome back man.

  • Cheers brother!

  • was just thinking about this arcade. Had so much fun playiing it.

  • Sick dude I know where one if the machines are I am defenetly going to play it when I go up ther again

  • I definitely can agree with the C rating.

It was not Dyers best work, but, myself having been in the cast, I can say he was very passionate about it.

In my upload of the news report, there is a very quick excerpt of him discussing the project, but it is edited from a half-hour interview.

When I was listening to him being interviewed, he predicted interactive gaming environments replacing games and movies. Games like Sims and Second Life appear to be realizing his vision.

  • Thanks for your input! Which character(s) did you play in the game?

Rick was certainly ahead of his time. I watched all the extras and was really impressed with him.

  • @vintagevideogamegeek

    I played:

The Blue Karateka (The one that kicks you in this video)

The shorter drug dealer (my line was "Hey man. I need some stuff")

    The shorter lunatic

    The shorter zombie

    The one-armed lightning zombie/tree

The light blue squire who swings at you with a dagger

In the same scene, the 98 lb weakling in boxers.

I used to have all my scenes on youtube, but Digital Leisure filed a DMCA against me for posting them.

  • That's so cool that you played all those parts.

What the heck is wrong with Digital Leisure? Are they gonna take issue with this review as well?

  • I suspect they'll be cool about your video because it falls under fair use as a review or criticism.

I simply uploaded all of my scenes in their entirety.

They filed a DMCA against me and later gave me verbal permission to repost them after I explained my part, but Youtube wanted something in writing.

  • I posted the news report I was in as a response.

  • Approved!

  • I never played this much but I always liked to watch people play in the arcade!

  • Man this is cheeseytastic goodness right here. Like Tron meets Captain N lol.

Also really nice game shelving system you have there behind you. Looks really high quality.

  • Thanks, it's new. I've got a whole new set up. Once it's done I'll do a proper tour of the game room.

  • I remember when this showed up in the arcade. It wasn't there long and I think I tried it twice (Didn't make it far at all). The holograms were cool though.

I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this DVD. I don't really want to play it, but as was said, for nostalgic purposed only.

  • Subscribed recently, glad I did. I spent dollar after dollar on this game as a kid.

  • Welcome aboard!

  • 234 views and only 18 ratings? Stingy bastards.

  • Hey...maybe they think it sucks and were doing me a favor.

  • Well.. I always rate before I watch. I didn't realize. The game was.... well, it was nice to see a new clip. lol.

  • LOL

  • Hey great review. I remember this game growing up and it was amazing for it's time. I never knew that it was released on DVD. I love the Ren & Stimpy reference too.

  • I still have no idea what she was trying to say. Ruin the universe? It sounded like Renn. Maybe I'll Google for the script.

  • Man, I would love to get a copy of this dvd or at least find the arcade game.

  • There's one on eBay right now. It's a Buy It Now for $10 plus shipping.

  • I mean, this game was really neat to play in the arcade. Without the cool 3D hologram effect, it's just another lame FMV game.

  • Kyla, Princess of hottie pants! I wonder what made them release this 10 years later?

I bet that was mind blowing to see in person 20 years ago...but why only the cowboy....you can't chose any bad ass ninjas or robots or anything...lame

  • Yeah she is!

I'm not sure but I'm guessing money had something to do with it. LOL.

There is actually a conversion kit for this game to turn it into a fighting game. It didn't look that great though.

  • Its like Mad Dog McCree got lost in Tron!

  • BWHAHAHAHA!

  • Awesome look at the game man. I've only seen brief bits of it, and it's really interesting to see more. Got to love the crazy scenario's they set up haha.

Great review, and thank you so much for the plug there, awesome man!

  • You're welcome Sebster. LOL

  • lol thanks a lot, this one aint to bad though, ster=star in Dutch ;)

  • You are a star!

  • I never played this game at the arcade.

It demanded far too many quarters.

  • I know! I'm surprised they didn't hook up an IV and take blood while they were at it.

  • Wow I haven't played or thought about this game in forever.

  • That's not necessarily a bad thing.

  • @vintagevideogamegeek

Oh, for sure not! I, like you, loved this game when it came out. I actually didn't realize that it was out on DVD. I should try to find a copy! Great work on the video as always!

  • You were lucky because the arcade game was a dollar where I was.

  • That stinks. Did you still play it?

  • I played it once, I got killed by the Native Americans and never played it again.

  • Yeah...they don't really explain why everyone you come into contact with is trying to kill you.

  • Now that I think about it, it was a dollar for a game!

When compared to Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Cliff Hanger, etc., that was no bargain.

  • Wow, take this out of the Arcade cabinet that had the neat 3D dome effect and well...

    It's really just a cheesy, no-budget game.

  • It's cheesy for sure, but after watching all the behind the scenes stuff, I think a lot went into making the game.

  • Well a lot went into making all those sorts of games. Certainly the best of them Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, and this one took hours and hours and lots of man power to accomplish.

I never want to take that away from it.

But, it was designed for a very specific kind of experience and I don't think it translates as well as its predecessors to DVD.

But, it was a lot of fun to play in the Arcade, I remember it well.

  • You are right about it not translating well. I got it mostly for nostalgic purposes.

  • Remember our mall had this game and i played a few times but i found it to be too hard and i lost interest in it pretty quick.

  • It's a toughy!

  • Indeed it is sir!

  • ROFL yea today we can do all this at home, gotta love those retro newscasts

  • Seemed pretty bad when the DVD showed it's just a guy standing in a black room, but when seeing it in Hologram form, now that's really cool.

  • Never heard of this game until now. Good review.

  • Thanks man.

  • nice Ren n Stimpy, man u love that show
