I tried playing this game afterwards, and it's pretty much impossible without some amazing knowledge. The first part I was in said 'this guy was referred to as 'the mexican goya'. So I figured, no problem, typed it in google. The answer wasn't in wiki or anything, it was in an actual book. So with this game being pre-internet, it would have been insane to find it. Or you'd have to drop the game, go to the library, to look up it. Or guess. lol
