  • This is very cool...James Gadson is so unbelievably talented, soulful, innovative, and a simply wonderful person....If I understand correctly, "Loveland" was actually his tune-but there were issues over the ownership of it-so live and let live...He still does lots of great session work, and live dates, with various artists...There's only one-like him, and he's the real-deal! Long-live James Gadson....

  • i'm no Gadson and i look up to him; i've had the pleasure of holding down the drum chair with Charles Wright. check out the video on Expressyourself the concert was taped at Ford Theater in Hollywood Ca.

  • See more on James Gadson @ SoulDrummers . com

  • Yes, it is a rip-off of Loveland, but James Gadson sang and played the drums on Loveland. So, the question is, is this the same James Gadson? Sounds like it is.

  • There is only 1 James Gadson.

  • @fnkdrmmr It will be because Gadson was the drummer in the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, not to mention Dyke & the Blazers, James Brown (Get Up Offa That Thing) & later joined Bill Withers with Melvin Dunlap from The Watts Rhythm Band. He's still around & doing sessions, sounding great & turned up on A Beck record recently. I saw him with Eddie Harris in the early 90s & he played wonderfully!

  • @stretchmorgan Thank you for the info...

  • @fnkdrmmr Did you know that Gadson was the lead singer on Love Land? It's true! and he covered the drum tracks too....

  • @pistolCrockett Yes. I am aware of that. Thank you.
