  • Video has it wrong. She is undefeated since January 2003 but only lost one match since 2001 and has been world number 1 since 2009.

  • Hi Ester, did you ever play a game in Thailand?

  • So, two bounces?

  • Ms. Vergeer is smoking hot.

  • 80sDream is so right.

  • She cannot walk ? oh , that's so sad

  • This video is just beautiful from start to finish. That raw happiness when she won actually moved me... how often does that happen on youtube?

  • Is this the special or paralympics?

  • she used to play pro basketball too

  • she's beautiful.

  • They should have power-features on the wheelchair that would propel them up in the air for a 'Sampras dunk'!

  • She's pretty.

  • 0:32 i had to laugh sorry :D

  • y? balls?

  • Well I don't get why

  • Well actually this woman aged 38 will walk with all of this technology advantages

  • These people's attitude is ginormously admirable. Sometimes we feel like dying and we can walk and these athletes show us that life is beautiful when you make it worthwhile. Congratulations, you're proper go-getters

  • Wow she could beat Federer!

  • i dont think she could beat Federer his serve would outbeat her wheelchair. not in a bad way i love wheelchair tennis. but Federer will have the advantage.

  • No, that is not just the way it is. Attitudes like that make people feel disabled. You just need a bit of imagination.

  • Hollllly shiiiit!

  • HOT

  • She's hot.

And the most dominant professional sportsperson of all time in any sport.

    In my opinion.

  • @saelaird you clearly don't watch any sports

  • respect

  • She's better at tennis than me :(

  • im in a wheelchair and i've been playing for 5 years. The word is able bodied not Normal. I find that really fucking offensive. Wheelchair players caqn accomplish anything an ABLE BODIED person can. Esther is probably just as good as Roger Federer.

  • i see where you are comming from but federer would easily beat her. you cant put your weight into the ball so you cant hit as hard. and obviously you movement is a bit slower since you actually have to turn around.

no offence dude, i mean i play tennis and i cant imagine how hard it would be to play in a wheelchair. it must be really tough. good luck with your tennis!

just saying, like girls and guys tennis, there is a noticable difference

  • I totally agree with your comment about "normal"

Unfortunately because most people are able-bodied, sometimes people say insensitive things without malice.

I have just found this lady on wikipedia... I never heard of her... and she is an absolute legend who needs far more press than she gets!

And I agree that disabled people can achieve amazing things, and nobody would question her mental capabilities.

But beating Federer... really? I don't mean to be rude, but... Impossible.

    Much Love.

  • If Roger played against her in a wheelchair I think that this woman would beat him

  • no shit, roger doesn't know how to manouver a wheelchair properly

  • Im sorry but no. A wheelchair bound person cannot achieve EVERYTHING an able bodied person can. Someone who is not confined to a wheelchair can do more. Thats just the way it is.

  • great !

  • she is quite hot on a wheel chair

  • definitely the hottest chick ive seen in a wheelchair

  • Hottest chick ive seen in a wheelchair

  • true that :D

  • i 2nd that emotion

  • i third that.

  • by far

  • imagine her against a prof normal tennis player

  • Lots of respect

  • lol..she trains 6 times a week?

    verry cool...

  • cool

  • how come all female tennis players are hot?

    love this sport

  • its a requirment

  • isnt strange how the number one tennis players in real tennis dont have any personalities. Thats how u know if someone is strong, when they dont talk alot. usually people who talk alot are people who are not as strong. personally, i like the whole loner strong silent type thing in real tennis. I know that stereotype doesnt exist but maybe we all create a "loner" mentality in men's tennis.

  • Wow, she speaks English almost flawlessly.

  • Touching... SAhe is such a strong person. Oh and... Tennis rocks!

  • why dont they just play swingball

  • lol

  • mega lolzs

  • Highly respect!!

  • cool

  • speechless!!

  • so good looking and talanted too .

  • Looks talented? LOL She hasn't lost a single match since 2003, has now 345 wins in a row and won every final in single and double at the Paralypics since 2004. She has only lost once since 2001.

  • Wow,what a beautiful and strong Girl...Respect

  • wow. i have so much respect for her BUT one thing that bugged me about this vid is what the guy said at 1:26 "...she reached both finals ONCE AGAIN. and ONCE AGAIN she made it to the top..." o-o

  • Besides she's hot

  • I feel that the spectacle of the Olympics is awesome but the true sign of a country's greatness is how well it takes care of it's more challenged. I'll be following the paralympics closely because I feel that it is a reflection of this greatness.

  • Nice i saw that live on Ralls Royce Womens Cup 2008 Its was AWSOME!!!

  • RESPECT! And, yes I'm watching ALL of the videos.

  • she would kick my ass any day in tennis lol

  • WTF?! more difficult than real tennis

  • She's so strong. It's really impressive to see this!

  • pretty girl anyway! ;)

  • Holland! Holland! Yeah!

  • she is beudyfull

  • okay Lol yeah

  • here in holland WE ARE PROUD OF YOU

  • shes well fit!!

  • Inspirational to see paralympians performing so well!!!

  • really impressive!

  • damnnn shes hella hot too

  • Her display of her abilities even though shes in a state that she is in now, has earned more then my respect. She has earned more than your respect. She has earned more then our respect. She deserves the respect of everyone. Esther is nothing less than a hero

  • Esther... You are my hero.

  • that looks so hard!

nothing but respect and best wishes in your future from me

  • wait not probobly, she definately could kick my ass

  • shes good looking and could probobly whip my arse at tennis

  • hahahahah her wheelchair says quickie

  • i bet she has some crazy arm muscle xD

  • Esther, and others who conquer their physical limitations really do show the world that you can do anything you set you mind to, even in the most challenging of circumstances.

When our bodies limit us from doing things the way most people do, instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, we will always be proud of having looked for another way.

When we discover, and believe in these ways, we can be proud of ourselves, while also inspiring others.

Go, Esther! You're what I call a winner!

  • @80sDream no they don't, they show that _some_ people can, and those being a minority.

Just because they can doesn't mean that all people can. Unrealistic optimism needs to die.

  • @nageljeuk I totally agree with you.

  • She is great

  • There is no reason to ever feel sorry for this young lady. She has the will to succeed and the courage to make it happen.

  • Thats impressive

  • This is very inspirational and impressive. Respect! A powerful young lady.

  • oh my god!

    damned...respect...this made me speechless...

  • I ADMIRE YOUR STRENGTH!

  • respect

  • lloks strange to see al winners in a wheelchair XD

  • wow

  • Imagine if she had full use of her legs! She'd be giving Sharapova a run for her money. Not to mention...She's HOT!!!

  • o.O omg she's faster and playing better than the tennis ace in my schoolclass

  • Hot wheels! I want one!!

  • this is insulting.....

  • she is my new hero!

  • muito bom ver a qualidade dessa atleta no tenis

  • that is so great..

a wheelchair person can do it anything

  • she's fantastic and she's a champion!!:)

  • in english its called football ore?
