  • Teaching criationism in schools as a science is a shame! And the US will become the JOKE of the world if this happens!

  • Religion should be taught in the home! PERIOD!

  • The fact that religion is an elective course and evolution is accepted as fact in college means the two are not equal. I guess Christians are the radicals now.

  • Why did they put the stupid one in the middle?

  • not a sexist, but some of these women define stereotypes

  • it is an absolute you fat slut.

  • If parents want their kids to know the creation story, go to catholic school.

  • flock of the dodos explains this argument to a T. there aren't two sides. there is one side that has been proven liars and has made up facts and then there's science.

  • if you believe in creationism you are delusional, thats all there is to it

  • OMG that blond in the middle is HOT!! Too bad the camera didn't really zoom in on her like the others..

  • I would do a blonde joke but i've heard that many Swedes are Atheists....

  • What relegion gets recognized Whoopi---We are a Judeo -Christian Country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @milcookful The US sure as hell is NOT a judeo-christian country. It is completely unconstitutional to establish a state religion or support one over the other in the US and the forefathers wrote time and time again that this is not a christian nation.

  • If you want to learn about Creationism go to church.

  • I believe in Evolution and Creationism. I have a hard time believing that the world started with a big bang. I believe God created the world and evolution. Meaning he knew that things he placed on earth would change and evolve.

  • @NotMyBirthday

The world didn't start with the Big Bang. The planet formed along with the Sun and other planets from a dusty cloud of hydrogen some 4.6 billion years ago.

The UNIVERSE came about because of the Big Bang. But that was about 10 billion years before our Solar System formed.

  • @MadHighway OKAY, you believe what you want and I will believe what I want.

  • @NotMyBirthday

Science and physical observations are neither belief or faith systems. We observe natural phenomena that point to the solar system forming some 4.6 billion years ago, about 10 billion years after the universe came to be. That's what all the current observations show.

NO observations, not a one, suggest an invisible sky-father who invented the earth back in 4004 BC.

You should get your science facts right, first.

  • @MadHighway I'm not going to argue with you over this. You believe what you want and I will believe what I want. I believe in an after life. I believe in souls. Just because a person with a science degree can't prove something doesn't mean it does not exist. I believe evolution should be taught in schools, so what exactly are you trying to argue with me about.

  • @NotMyBirthday

I'm arguing the point that your line of thinking dismisses facts.

An understanding that Earth is 4.55 billion years old is not simply belief or faith, or even 'just another way of looking at things'. It's an understanding of verified facts and rigorous observations.

That you call such simply my 'belief' is not good enough, as what I understand doesn't require faith and certainly is not a religion.

Your understanding of facts was flawed, and you promoted your views. See?

  • @MadHighway you should actually understand who created the creationist argument and who is funding it. watch "flock of the dodos." the narrator is a scientist and he talks to the top tier of both sides of the argument and exposed the discovery institute's intentions and their made up facts. the argument itself never truly existed, only in the mind's of the uninformed.

  • @onebadmoto

Check out David Rives' videos on Youtube. He's another creationist who weaves lies in with scientific fact and presents it as truth. Rives twists science facts and even employs the fabricated term "analysts," alleged experts who dispute scientific discoveries and theories, such as star formation.

Of course, Rives blocks all commentary to his videos.

  • @MadHighway How am I promoting my views when I think evolution not creationism should be taught in schools. My views are my views and honestly i don't give a rats ass if you believe my views or not. My views are based on my religion but in a educational setting, where religion is not involved, evolution should be taught.

  • @NotMyBirthday You evidently don't know the theory behind the big bang and shouldn't discount it because you don't understand it.

  • Comment removed

  • Should all wacky beliefs get shoved into schools? How about Santa? Should we teach that too?

  • You know The View is getting desperate for ratings when they ask Heidi Montag to give her "opinion" on things like creationism and evolutionism. :S

  • religion should be taken out of the equation when it comes to Scientific methodology...because its not based on anything demonstrable

  • As dumb as Heidi is a lot of the time...She is right on the mark here. I 100% agree. Religion is taken out of the equation. And by the way- Ms. Goldberg, I graduated from college a year and half ago and I didn't major in religion or anti-religion and the courses given by the professors are unspeakable so many of them are anti religion and don't believe in a higher power that it makes me sick

  • @princessdisney26 You can't present "both sides" because there is NO other side to evolution.

  • @labonneruerouge believe what you want.

  • @princessdisney26

Religious belief doesn't require facts; that's its basic flaw.

  • @MadHighway that's what you think. it's your choice not to believe.

  • @princessdisney26

Facts are facts across any system. Whether you admit it or not, the facts point to spontaneous, non-directed phenomena in nature. There is no evidence for an intelligence behind a design.

Science doesn't fabricate or twist evidence and facts; religions do. That's also a fact.

  • @MadHighway Lemme tell u y u wont get ur point across: mainly, Cognitive Dissonance. This behavior makes ppl resist/rationalize information that conflicts with their existing ideas. In this case, saying "its ur opinion". Which, as any critical thinker will tell u, is ridiculous & as we both know, opinions r worthless in science unless u back them up with falsifiable evidence. This stage is also known as the Prereflective stage, lack of critical thinking. Unfortunately, some never grow out of it

  • Montag is an airhead. "Both sides?" What the fuck does that mean? It's not Christianity vs. Evolution. It's superstitious Faith vs. Reason.

  • Religion is NOT education!.......... wtf?

There shouldn't even be a discussion on this!!

    Just NO!

NO RELIGION IN SCHOOLS!!! for the last fucking time!

Practice and preach your bullshit at home not along side education

  • All americans watch the video in the suggestions list called "how life started - Crestionism Vs Science" and you will see the short shrift afforded to creationism in more advanced countries.

  • Americans lol.

  • They should definitely have both, or be able to opt out of having to study evolution if they don't believe in it.

  • @cassandrafalcon sweet zombie jesus your stupid

  • @cassandrafalcon

That's not how science or reality works, evolution isn't true for some people and false for others, it's not an opinion. if you are going to bother teaching biology/science in school just stick to the facts and leave the creation fiction at home. That and It would be entirely illegal to teach creationism.

  • @Chinomareno Evolution is not science. It's a belief.

  • @cassandrafalcon

    Tell that to scientists...

I'm convinced you have no idea what science is. Evolution has is one of the most verifiable things in science, the DNA evidence shows we are related to every living thing on this planet. Creationism vs Evolution is like Flat Earthers vs Spherical Earthers, it's not a debate anymore. I don't even understand why Joe blow Christians reject facts like Evolution when Francis Collins, who directed the Human Genome project can accept it.

  • @Chinomareno We share 50% of our DNA with bananas. Does that mean we are half banana? DNA doesn't prove anything for evolution.

  • @cassandrafalcon

DNA is evidence of all living organisms having a common ancestry, please think before saying something so stupid.

Creationism is not science, it's just stubborn christian lunatics repackaging babble from Genesis.

Evolution is widely accepted by many Christians as the most likely explanation for the origin of species, it shouldn't even be an issue for Christians. US churches seem to be the only ones that cannot get over a literal reading of Genesis.

  • @Chinomareno It is not, that is you're interpretation of DNA. DNA is evidence of all living organisms having a common creator. Creationism is creation SCIENCE. I'm not from the US and I don't know any Christians who believe in evolution!

  • @cassandrafalcon

Wow, Just fucking wow.. Years spent in a lab, writing reports in neurobiology, spending sleepless nights following the scientific method to ensure my findings can then be falsified, always getting questioned, defending my thesis, having to go through physics, bio, biochem, organic chem, genetics, neuroscience etc etc and to hear you say "Creation science"...wow, Fuck you, Seriously, you are the reason civilization is declining.

  • @Kindred1a1 Are you seriously that ignorant? Creationists do all that stuff too, you know. They are scientists. Just because they have a different conclusion that you, you discount all their education and research? Maybe you should educate yourself before you start venting.

  • @cassandrafalcon

I know some scientists have a religious faith but any self respecting scientist would not say something as idiotic as "durr creation science". And different conclusions? Yea thats fine but if ur different conclusions say that the world is 6000 years old and its based on an outdated book, then you arent doing science. Regardless, i dont expect anybody that says "creation science" to understand anything about science to begin with.

  • @cassandrafalcon while I agree tons of creationists have made various scientific contributions, what has CREATION SCIENCE RESEARCH done for science? Any novel drugs invented by this field? Any new breakthrough in the understanding of the natural world?

  • @cassandrafalcon Are we supposed to believe in talking snake and a blonde Adam and eve?

  • @hotwhire I don't think anyone believes that Adam and Eve were blonde. And that isn't creationism by the way.

  • @Chinomareno By the way, creationists ARE scientists. You mean to say, 'Tell that to the evolutionist scientists.'

  • @cassandrafalcon so antibiotic resistance is a belief and not an actual health concern?

  • @mancunianpride that was meant at chinomareno not cassandrafalcon.

  • @Chinomareno From the sounds of it, you've never actually researched creationism, and just think evolution is true, because of what you've been taught.

  • @cassandrafalcon How do you not believe in evolution?? That means you don't believe in biology. You shouldn't be able to 'opt out' of science. And there's no 'both' because there's no other side to science...

  • this is perhaps the worst thing to come out of America: the idea that all opinions are created equal. They are not. Creationism is NOT a science, and should not be taught in a science classroom.

  • I think one of the reasons why people want Creationism to be taught in schools is because learning Evolution would require you to actually think for yourself. I mean seriously how could you really learn anything by taking a class on Creationism every answer would be god did it.

  • Barbara, leave this show are still pointing out on the air how dumb the people around you are retarded.

  • wow, that blond girl...did she just say middle school?

  • The ignorance is strong at that table

  • God made Heidi so perfect that she had to go in for thousands of dollars worth of surgery... What a stupid cunt.

  • this shit should be taught at college religion class not in science class

  • EXPLAINING HOW AN AIRPLANE WORKS doesn't mean no one made the airplane. Explaining how life or the universe works doesn't mean there was no Maker behind them. Natural laws explain how the order in the universe works, but mere undirected natural laws can't explain the origin of that order. Once you have a complete, living cell then the genetic code/mechanisms exist to direct the formation of more cells, but how did the cell naturally originate when no directing code/mechanisms existed in nature?

  • @Mogley52 Very good point. Science and religion in regards to origin are seeking the same thing. God has not, and I believe can not, be disproved by science. Science on the other hand has done a great job proving the existence of intelligent design.

  • yes we should be taught both sides of every argument, but only if both arguments have proof of their validity. Evolution has proof, Creationism doesn't. End of :)

  • SHUT...THE...FUCK...UP! ... I'm done bitches.

  • hang on. creationism is NOT the other side of evolution.

  • love whoppi goldberg! most reasonable person on the show. also behr

  • @twilightguardian

When I graduated Magna Cum Laude from College they certainly existed. Maybe the brainwashing now is different.

I am not a Creationist. Good try with Demonization.

  • You know, when I was younger I always took what my teachers said as truth because as adults they knew more than I did. They got the information in the text books from people who studied this as their life career and knew better than the teachers. The teachers merely tried to teach us as best they could what these great people discovered. However, after seeing the debates in America... I'm not so sure about the validity of adults anymore.

  • Macro Evolution is Pseudo-Science that FAILS the basic fundamentals of the Scientific Method.. duplication & prediction.

To cover both basis, the Macro Evolutionists have invented Gradual Evolution & Punctuated Evolution. lol

The religious person says only after death will you see heaven, while the Macro Evolution person says only after death plus a million years will Macro Evolution happen. lol

Macro Evolution (species change to new species) is completely different than Micro Evolution.

  • @parasitesarefunny There's no such thing as micro and macro evolution. It is an unscientific label meant to section off the smooth gradient of change and the only difference is time scale. But if you must make us use the terms, here's a bit of simple math for you: micro + micro + micro +micro = macro. It's not a difficult concept to comprehend.

  • @twilightguardian

Macro Evolution means an entire change of species with new miraculously created traits, whereby one cannot mate & produce offspring with the supposed former species

Micro Evolution is simply selection of existing traits within the same species

Next you are going to tell us there is no difference between the frauds of Punctuated and Gradual Evolution bullshit or that Macro & Micro Economics is not real.

The brainwashing & swallowing of bullshit is amazing.

  • @parasitesarefunny I completely agree with you on the brainwashing and bullshit thing. Because your terms don't exist. They are words created by Creationists trying to debunk evolution. They're not valid scientific terms. They are made up terms.

  • @parasitesarefunny Then by your definiton there are thousands of observed instances of Macroevolution. :P

  • cant stand joy and whoopie!!!! i agree with heidi, only teaching evolution is biased!

  • my position is that we were created by a magical interdimensional purple walrus who shit us all into existence. We should therefore teach that as well. Just because people believe something doesn't make it valid to teach it in our school systems.

  • lol, evolution is a verifiable fact? too bad it's NEVER been seen by anyone

  • @mvan367 I can't see the air but it's there, retard.

  • @mvan367 Here let me google that for you

    bit. ly/ADcbUb

  • There is no other side to this issue. On one hand you have evidence, and example that can be studied, observed, tested, and confirmed. The other side has a belief that has not passed one second of scrutiny. Has provided no evidence to support it's claims, and it is a fact that everything religion has offered as "evidence" not only has not held up, but isn't even an example of evidence, but they do not care. There is only one side that is based in reality, and I'll take it.

  • is this a fck joke? fckn dumn amewrnnnnccccsssss

  • this blond bitch needs to gtfo.

  • for some reason i could not ignore this video

  • America will fall very soon, this video proves it.

  • The more you know, the less you believe.

  • Science belongs in the science classes. Evolution is a scientifically accepted and supported idea. Creationism is not supported by science, the scienctific method, or scientists, and it therefore has no place in a science class wherein SCIENCE ought to be the focus. If it doesn't have any scientific support or reasoning, it should be in a science class.

  • learn about creationism in religion classes, learn about evolution (science) in science class

    how is this difficult

  • wow let me check this again creationism is beleivign god made every thing in 7 days?

but we know that's not true now

  • So she's pretty much saying evolution should be taught in church too then.

  • They traded one retarded blonde bitch for another?

  • "Should Creationism be taught in schools?"

    No, next subject.

  • @ThePhantom135 SO then teach everything! Let young minds decide whether or not evolution is the know all and end all instead of just shoving it down students' throats.

  • @HelloGudbye93 We don't need to teach Creationism because it's not science and no serious scientist actually supports it. But evolution IS scientific fact. We might not completely understand how it works exactly but we do know that it works. Creationism can be taught in private religious schools or churches but not in public schools. It has too much of a religious bias to be considered testable, scientific evidence.

  • @ThePhantom135 Then Evolution shouldn't taught in schools either because it is not proven.

  • @rachellecamilla Go back to biology class, please. For the sake of human progress. And remember to not fall asleep this time.

  • @ThePhantom135 Actually, you don't learn evolution in Biology. You learn it in History. HAHA Looks like you need to go back to first grade.

  • @rachellecamilla Well, let me ask you this: if you're severely ill, what would you do? Pray to something that probably doesn't exist to cure you or go to a hospital for fear of the disease EVOLVING too much?

  • @ThePhantom135 Well, I think I would pray to GOD and ask him to bless my doctors, so that they can cure my disease.

  • @rachellecamilla What shit hole state do you live in that doesn't teach evolution in biology?? You can't even understand cell replication or genetics without accepting evolution as fact- your biology class must have literally had nothing to do with biology.

  • keep religion out of school

  • This is the dumbest debate ever. teaching "both sides" is ridiculous. Like christianity is the only alternative. STUPID!

  • Do Americans have religious education? Because I remember becoming an atheist in my RE class (I was in a strict catholic family) when I asked the teacher 'how many gods are there?' his reply 'there are 2780 deities' I thought for a second 'do they all offer eternal life and no evidence?' 'umm... pretty much yeah'!!

  • This blonde is a fucking retard, you're talking about the truth versus a lie. They don't deserve equal time. And slandering Darwin doesn't change any of the evidence.

Your bifocals won't lose focus or shatter if you talk about Benjamin Franklins bastards.

  • In college their are classes your force to take

  • Heidi Montag? A Creationist? Well, dumm fickt gut.

  • @disquisition73 This is getting sadder. Any Google search would have confirmed that evolution and abiogenesis does not mean the same thing. It's not a matter of mine opinion vs yours, it's another verifiable fact. Just as evolution is a verifiable fact and evolution by the process of natural selection is a theory that has been tested constantly around the world and is used in medical and biological fields of research. You're in denial of reality. You are even arguing against dictionaries.

  • @disquisition73, "There is your fundamental flaw - they mean the same thing. "

If you are equating evolution as the explanation for the origin of life, then there is the fundamental flaw in your case against evolution. Evolution is NOT about the origins of life. And evolution did occur as illustrated by the fossil records and the fact that you inherit traits from your parents is the very basis of evolution.

  • @disquisition73 "evolution is spontaneosu generation, natural selection exists, evolution does not because spontaneous generation or abiogenesis whatever you call it is impossible"

Is it really that hard to understand that Evolution does not = Abiogenesis? Jeebus, you're stupid; or a troll; either way, you suck..

  • Only in America would a discussion like this occur. America is an immature country, filled with immature and an increasingly stupid and ignorant people. We would all like to think there is an almighty God watching out for us because we never grew up. We need a father figure to look up to. We absolve all our responsibility of how we treated the Earth because we believe Big Daddy will come on Armageddon day and bail us out.

  • @PungiFungi Sadly, you're so right. We need to grow up as a nation.

  • @disquisition73 No, abiogenesis is NOT evolution. They are 2 different things. Consult a science website or even Google if you need clarification. And yes natural selection exists. It is our best model to explain evolution, which not only exists but is an observable fact. And look up what evolution means before claiming it doesn't exist. And as I said to another poster, being certain doesn't make you right. And good luck with the National Academy of Sciences. But you should study science first.

  • @disquisition73 Spontaneous generation falls under of "Abiogenesis." Look that up on Google. It is separate from evolution. Proving or disproving abiogenesis does not affect whether or not evolution is true. And it certainly doesn't prove that there was a supernatural entity(s) responsible. You first have to prove there is a God(s), fairies, elves, aliens, etc. before you can prove they were responsible. You are sounding like a sad quack. You need therapy and time away from creationist nuts.

  • @disquisition73 No, you have proven to be the complete moron. The sad thing is that you can't see it. If you weren't lying about trying to prove your case to the National Academy of Sciences, then you should have learned something from that experience. Your b.s. doesn't fool the experts. Heck, it would't fool anybody who just looked at the evidence. Only in your mind is evolution a "faith" and creationism a valid alternative explanation. It has no basis in reality. But it is retarded. Get it yet?

  • @disquisition73 Do you know how incredibly laughable your post is? I'm not sure I feel sorry for you or disgust.Evolution is a fact. It's observable. It's not even an issue of contention among scientists. And science, particularly evolution, is NOT a faith. It presents evidence which has met the rigor of peer review and independent verification and validation again and again, especially with religious interests going against it. Creationism is a lie and a fairy tale. Don't confuse it with science.

  • We must be taught both sides of every issue:

Astronomy vs Astrology; Evolution vs. Creationism; Mental Illness vs. Demon Possession; Childbirth vs Stork Theory; Gravity vs I Believe I can Fly; etc.

  • @hec231 How can you teach fiction?

  • @hec231 I disagree. There are proven, factual truths about every issue you just stated. It is silly to think we should "have" to learn about demons, astrology, etc. Why hold back the progression of society, learning about theory which has been put to bed for decades or centuries. We don't debate the world being flat, nor should we. Simply because some ppl are too ignorant and stubborn to accept facts as reality doesn't mean we should slow progress so as not too make them uncomfortable..

  • @laziosniper he was being sarcastic...

  • @laziosniper My previous post was obviously sarcastic.

  • @disquisition73 Actually, evolution has tons of proof. Go to a science web site run by scientists instead of creationist nuts and you'll be overwhelmed with the evidence. Evolution is a fact. Evolution by the process of natural selection is the theory which explains how it happens. Try talkorigins. org. Then the National Academy of Sciences. Try telling the scientists who studied biology, anthropology, genetics, etc. they they are all wrong and their scientific evidence doesn't count as proof.

  • @disquisition73 No offense, but that was the most retarded response ever. How about contacting the National Academy of Sciences and telling those guys how wrong they are? Obviously you haven't looked at the evidence at all. The entire fields of biology, genetics, vaccination, and even just looking around you and seeing how each generation is different from their parents supports evolution. And natural selection explains how it occurs. You are seriously deluded. Pick up a science book sometime.

  • @disquisition73 You're an idiot.

  • GOD HAS NO PLACE IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, simpsons taught me this years ago

  • I reckon we are all Sims.

  • @disquisition73 I never claimed evolution to be corre t. As I said I'm mostly indifferent- meaning I don't really care how we got here, we're just here now.

  • @disquisition73 lol evolution lies? we see it everyday on a small scale. look at all the different breeds of dogs? how do you explain down syndrome? many people with it have an extra chromosome. extrapolate minor changes like this over millions of years and what do you think you'll end up with? also, what does existing outside of spacetime mean? if god exists outside of spacetime, and the earth is inside of spacetime, then god could not have created species on earth.

    u got owned.

  • "dont present both sides"

Creation can go to religous studies....

  • @disquisition73 learn2science lol.

  • @disquisition73 NO, get this through your thick skull, abiogenesis has nothing whatsoever to do with evolution. Abiogenesis explains the origin of life, evolution explains the origin of species. This is not very hard to understand. Your assertion that biogenesis is a scientific law, is patently false; and the product of rational deduction will always be false if the premises are untrue.

  • @disquisition73 No, biogenesis is not a scientific law, check biology-online, encyclopedia Britannica, hell....even check wikipedia. Nobody has suggested that natural selection is a creative force, because evolution has nothing to do with the formation of life. You really need to understand these very elementary ideas before you attempt to propose an argument.

  • @disquisition73 Biogenesis is not a scientific law, nor is it a scientific theory. The theory of evolution has met its burden of proof, hence its acceptance as the observed mechanism of speciation. You can spout this religiously charged drivel over and over; but until you prove some valid examples to impugn evolution, you are simply just establishing your own ignorance.

  • @disquisition73 Evolution has NEVER been an explanation for the origin of life, can you get this through your thick skull? Abiogenesis has absolutely nothing to do with evolution. Evolution explains the mechanism behind the diversity of life (speciation), nothing more.

  • Teach creationism in schools/college? Okay ... is everyone utterly retarded .... we ALREADY teach them ... in churches, synagogues and all kinds of places. PLUS. If they did this, what form of creationism will they teach? Christianity of course. What about the other 305 religions of the planet? (Or however many of them, there are) You can't honestly say they'd stick to teaching a range of them.

  • @disquisition73 I would highly recommend you go to a science website such as talkorigins. org instead of creationist nuts before talking about science. Evolution has TONS of evidence. Evolution is a biological fact. Evolution by the process of natural selection is a theory. And still the best working model we have. Which is how we create vaccines, understand DNA, why children are not exact duplicates of their parents, etc. Just cause you're convinced doesn't make you right. But funny....

  • the problem is that anybody who's 35 or younger have not been raised to go to church or has not been taught the real truth the bible.the bible is truth and it is not a myth.also most of your college professors are athesist and they have a bad influence on kids today.and of course hollywood had a huge influence on people today.but there are still many scientist who are christians and most of your astronauts are christians too.and the facts are NOT being in taught in colleges or schools.

  • @rogerbahakel I am 18 years old and would identify myself the most as Agnostic (though its mostly just indifferent or apathetic). This is not due to me being "influenced" in any way. Pretty much everything that I know is what I have bothered to learn myself. Most everyone I know is Christian, and I am fine with that. If you take the time to examine the facts, I just cannot believe that there is a god that cares at all about anyone (IMO).

  • @OmegaAtrocity yes he cares.he loves you very much or he wouldn't have sent his jesus to die on the cross for us.a terrilble death too.he did it so that you and i could go to heaven.all we have to do is accept him as our savior.this is not a myth but the truth.and anybody who tell you different doesn't have the truth in them.

  • @rogerbahakel

Here's a summary of god's thoughts (if you can bring yourself to believe in christian dogma): "Gee, I'm REALLY BORED, what shall I do today? I know! I'll create Man and Woman.....with original sin! Then I'm going to impregnate a woman with myself as her child, so that I can be born. Once alive, I will kill myself as a sacrifice to myself to save them from the sin I originally condemned them to! Just let them try to figure THIS one out!! Allright, here I go..."

  • i'm gonna write the textbook for the creationism class:

    God did it.

    The End

  • is that a porn star?

  • The nut jobs will never win this one, especially with colleges. The less education a person has, the more likely they are to believe in creationism. Luckily, the Sheri Shepherds in this country are loud but not too bright. Too bad Einstein isn't around. Pretty sure he could explain to you idiots what a scientific theory is.

  • Keep religion out of schools
