I never watched Spin City, but I like this little scene with "Doc" and "Marty". I guess Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd were perfect together as actors.
@BlueLeopard200 Most people would seemingly agree, considering I think it lasted a total of one year and two seasons later without him, and Fox had to return for a multiple episode arch to keep people interested.
So that's how they were able to travel back in time, The machines remembered terminator salvation and the light of tears and needed forgiveness, so they to desired to live in peace and wanted to know love, asking all beings and creatures to have mercy on their evil deeds now the Father full of grace rose up to deliver them He intervened like an alien and rescued them, tho he had to teach them a valuable lesson love your neighbor as yourself don't harm self nor anyone else the end.
@harooni22 Well, unless you go to high traffic areas, like malls, movie theatre's, etc, then that shit is automatic. No need to touch anything but your pants.
When Fox left the TV series Spin City, his final episodes made numerous allusions to Family Ties: Michael Gross (who played Alex's father Steven) portrays Mike Flaherty's (Fox) therapist, and there is a reference to an off-screen character named "Mallory". Also, when Flaherty becomes an environmental lobbyist in Washington D.C., he meets a conservative senator from Ohio named Alex P. Keaton, and in one episode Meredith Baxter played Mike's mother.

I really really love these two. The Doc and Marty are the best bromance in the history of film for me. Love, love, love the BTTF movies. They're like my childhood in a boxset lol.
I think Marty would be pretty unimpressed with the actual real future. I mean no hydrating pizzas, no flying cars, no hoverboards, no power laces on shoes, no giant sharks jumping out of movie theatre ads. Pretty much all the same technology he already knows, except better. Bigger TVs, smaller cellphones, better computers and better video games. The reason they made the future as they did in BTTF was so it would appear impressive to someone from 1985. Our actual future isn't impressive at all.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It all changed with Marty avoiding that accident. The accident would've prevented Marty from getting parkinson's disease because how it jolted his nervous system. The car he was supposed to hit while racing Needles was the paparazzi that ended up killing Princess Diana (she was queen in BTTF2). Which somehow lead to Bush getting elected. Knowing that Bush would play into their hands, OPEC set up 9/11 and prevented the invention of hoverboards and flying cars by suppressing alternative energy.
@fringelife It would be pretty impressive for those who jumped from 1985 to 2015, it seems unimpressive to us because we gradually saw the progression over 30 years. And also, Zemeckis also said he made the future rediculus on purpose cause you can't predict it properly, so why not just make a bunch of jokes?
@asecooper222 Well if there was a movie of our actual future, Marty would be riding skateboards with wheels and tying his own shoelace. I can't see him being as impressed with big screen tvs, cellphones and hybrid cars.
@fringelife hey man, iPod's and giant TV's everywhere can be pretty freakin' cool if there was nothing like it back then. They were still using VHS, don't forget. And also just video games alone - he was playing friggin Wild Gunmen then. The SNES hadn't even come out.
Like I said - it doesn't seem as impressive to us cause we saw the gradual progression of the technology over 30 years.
@asecooper222 those are very predictable technological advancements. The Ipod is just a natural progression of the Walkman. Larger TV sets were an obvious trend. Sure it's cooler than the stuff that was around in the 80's, but for a 30 year span in technological advancement is hardly impressive. Things just got fancier.
@fringelife "Someone from 1985". How old are you, 15? Anyone who has even the vaguest recollection of the late 80's knows that we live in an amazing era. We might not have BTTF technology, but we're on par with the Jetsons! The only thing the Jetsons had that we don't are those chute tubes and a sassy robot maid. Everything else they have in that cartoon, we have now, albeit some of them are slightly differently executed or were discovered impractical. (Re: hover cars.) Life's amazing.
@Zerocreature I'm actually 30 and I remember the 80s quite well. We had cellphones, TVs, cars that run on gas, microwaves, skateboards with wheels, computers, video games etc. Jetsons were from the 60s, I'm comparing futurists from the 80s. They probably thought we'd advance as much as we did from 1955-1985, but we didn't. You could impress someone from 1955 even if you took them to the 80s.
@fringelife Somewhat impressive, and the future of technology is exciting. Though u must wonder where alot of stuff is... And when they say in 10 years this and 20 years that, u oughta add 10 or 20 years to it.
@fringelife We pretty much traded the flying cars and hoverboards for the Internet and the digital age. Debate rages on whether that's a good or a bad thing.
@fringelife Just think about the internet and computers, medical evolutions, games that looks like (or almost ) the real life, video phones, a black american president and mickael jackson gone prematuraly.
That's just some exemples , but someone from 1985 WOULD be impressed. It's just not all about 3D sharks and flying cars to me.
@popcornflakes Actually the first thing that every person from 1985 would say is "Quick! Blow up Wall Street now before we end up like those buttheads!"
@fringelife believe me, for somebody from 1985, 2010 would be very impressive. in 1985 nobody could even imagine that you can hear music for hours with a tiny little device. that you can watch millions of videos online with your pc. or that you can make thousands of pictures with a portable camera smaller than a thumbnail and all other stuff. computers changed the world completely in the last 20 years.
@fringelife I thought about that too... And then I thought more into it... A guy who grew up around vinyl records and tape cassettes would be pretty impressed. And iPod nano that can hold 1,000's of songs? Cell phones with touch screen? Flat screen TV's? Instead of nintendo, you can play Modern Warfare online on the Xbox 360? We're doing ok, I guess
@JanPanda The technology for 3D movies is very old... and you still need special glasses. People are talking about all this impressive stuff we have but they're basically confirming what I said. To incorporate real technology, BTTF2 would consist of Marty playing video games, listening to 1000 songs on iPod and saying "whoa Doc this is heavy, the TV is flat!". Yet he'd be riding a skateboard with wheels, wearing normal clothes, tying his own shoes and he'd still need roads.
@fringelife Think of how the Jetsons was way before the 80's. Gigantic skyscrapers that looked like it was designed by someone who thought "Let's sustain a giant apartment complex on a needle point."
@fringelife actually our future is very close to his... we just don't see it. Money hinders greatness. We have the creativity, we have the tools, we have the knowhow, we even have prototypes and even some variations of what you see in that moview but the reason you can't see the real deal all over the place at ever street corner or ever store is because money needs to be made. Wen we buy a piece of technology, we buy the leftovers after all the cool features have been nerfed to increase sales
@fringelife they actually made a hoverboard but sadly it wont carry you, just sit and hover, there is one prototype for a flying car but the company says its more problems then its worth, and well theres the crap flavorwave oven that supposed takes a dry frozen pizza and cooks it to perfection, i like how they show the wireless light gun and we have wireless light guns but tv refresh rates are too high
The future sucks...all that shit you mentioned we don't have any of it and that's a downer..where's the self fitting jackets and the flying cars...this is totally bogus
@fringelife You do realize marty is a fictive character, don't you? But hey, let's for fun's sake assume you're actually this depressed: find a rope and make my day!
Or they could make it in 2015 and explore how different continuity issues caused the awesome future they visited to tangent into the less awesome one we'll be in. And then fix it in under 2 and a half hours.
Bonus points if they were in the "real world" and had to deal with Homeland Security, the shortage of DeLoreans, and radically different technology.
@aznfryk They could do like they did with Ghostbusters, and make a video game that has an original story. Doc and Marty could just go back in the train and save the DeLorean.
Why potentially jeopardize a great trilogy with another BTTF movie. I mean take Indiana Jones 4 for example. They should have left it at The Last Crusade . Harrison Ford looked out of his league and slow in the 4th installment, because of his age and the plot wasn't nearly as good as the last 3 movies were. Why risk another Indiana Jones 4 like movie with a BTTF 4 movie and have it dilute the saga...

You know, a lot of the futuristic stuff in part 2 could actually happen today.
You could use a pneumatic/hydrolic (spelling?) system for self lacing shoes, by making a tightener for the laces.
Holograms (while expensive and rare) do exist, ad could be used for movie ads
and hovercraft do actually work to this day, so hover boards could be possible ;)

Yet he'd be riding a skateboard with wheels, wearing normal clothes, tying his own shoes and he'd still need roads.

@fringelife Yeah Windows Vista, Ipods, hybrid cars and fucking talking elmo are kind of a let down for the 21st century.

@fringelife
The future sucks...all that shit you mentioned we don't have any of it and that's a downer..where's the self fitting jackets and the flying cars...this is totally bogus

Or they could make it in 2015 and explore how different continuity issues caused the awesome future they visited to tangent into the less awesome one we'll be in. And then fix it in under 2 and a half hours.
Bonus points if they were in the "real world" and had to deal with Homeland Security, the shortage of DeLoreans, and radically different technology.
willivanilli07 2 years ago
@willivanilli07 speaking on homeland security - can you imagine how bitchy people would be if the saw Doc dealing plutonium with terrorists today?

Don't worry about the sequel. Just listen to Tom Wilsons "Stop Asking The Questions" song :)

What do you mean?
peterhopqk 2 years ago
@aznfryk They could do like they did with Ghostbusters, and make a video game that has an original story. Doc and Marty could just go back in the train and save the DeLorean.

Honestly, it would be good to have a BTTF 4, but I rather not take chances and ruin the greatest trilogy of all times. :D
