Everyone, I just found out a scary fact. Koreas oldest history piles of books called Samguk Sagi has no complete translation in English or any other western language, but Russian. Specially the part of the books called the Record of Shilla is unavailable in English. This Record of Shilla has many reference of Japan, and also it says the 4th king of Shilla was Japanese. Most of Koreans cant read Chinese characters with which those books were written, and they have few access to original books....

If Japan really intended to modernize Joseon, they wouldn't have treat Koreans with such cruelty (such as Unit 731, where they did many medical experiment with live human bodies, torture high school students, banish the use of Hangul, banish the use of Korean language in the public, etc.). There might have been a lot of faults not to be permitted in today's common sense.
But it's true that Japan contributed to the development of Korea.
Japan made railways, roads, electric power plants, hospital,
school and the education system, and factories In Korea.
And For the growth after Korean War,

yeah? IF Korea decide to raise the value of Korean won. like Japan did to your Yen Korea economy will be as big as half of Japan economy right now. remember Korean people are only 1/3

Everyone, I just found out a scary fact. Koreas oldest history piles of books called Samguk Sagi has no complete translation in English or any other western language, but Russian. Specially the part of the books called the Record of Shilla is unavailable in English. This Record of Shilla has many reference of Japan, and also it says the 4th king of Shilla was Japanese. Most of Koreans cant read Chinese characters with which those books were written, and they have few access to original books....

The reason Korean gov. didn't want to modernize was b/c of the strong korean tradtions they didn't want to give up. It was the peasants that were victims. B/c korean refused all trading with the west, they only had swards to fight agaist japan equipped with guns and cannons.

It's true that modernization came through Jpn. Why don't they mention all the poverty and the wretched state in all the previous pictures also came from japan bridging korea to war chinese. B/c of the jpn-chinese war, it was possible that korea could have been annihilated completely. Half truth is a biased truth.

The point is majority of Korean people don't know the truth since their government made up their greater history. They are believing that they would have been doing better if the Japanese didn't "colonize" their country. Old Korean people know the truth but they cannot tell anything good about Japan in order to avoid crticised or arrested.

yeah you are right about that. i was taught the way the Korean school which the government runs teaches. South Korea isnt ALL lies, like North Korea or China, but they do distort the Japanese colonialization stuff. just like what japan did a few decades ago with their history textbooks. but i grew up learning both sides which made me stand neutral. because both sides did bad things.

If Japan really intended to modernize Joseon, they wouldn't have treat Koreans with such cruelty (such as Unit 731, where they did many medical experiment with live human bodies, torture high school students, banish the use of Hangul, banish the use of Korean language in the public, etc.). Also, they wouldn't have forcefully taken away rice from each households (not counting the chinilpa), and dug and take all ancient Korean treasures to Japan.

Also, this "professor" forgot to mention that the population increased not b/c Korea had a baby boom, but b/c there were over millions of Japanese immigrating to Korea after Korea was forcefully annexed by Japan. Such led to the separation of school (in the city, and classroom in town) between Korean and Japanese students (just like how in the early 1900s US separated schools for black kids and white kids)...

Thank you for uploading these videos. And I'd love to thank this professor for his courage to write this book and speaking up in front of camera at the risk of arrest under presecution against Chinilpa(pro-Japan) law, we know so many his country men who had spoken the truth went under water in the past.
Sadly elderly Koreans who know the truth are rapidloy disappering. Why Korean's Anti-Japan propaganda is ever stronger now is beyond our understandings. Hope to hear more brave & honest voices.

actually, the professor is right about north korea being an exact old copy of the corrupt Choseon dynasty. Remmeber, only 5% or less of the population enjoyed freedom and liberty and 95% were peasants who were literally worked to the bone.
I don't think the Professor is being a traitor to the Japanese. He's merely stating serious changes in Choseon-Kankoku history. Once again, Korea does have a history of sadness.

and One day one Korean Scholar went to Japan and started making Last Name for the poor savage people. They were fuucking up each other in family. It was shocking. No Joke. They dont have a concept of ancestors. So, It is a part of their culture that they dont respect Korean. Japs now use Last Name but it is really funny if ask them what it means.

It was one way support from Korea to Japan. Japan's history can not be discussed without Korea. However, Japs never give credit to Korea but often give credit to China. Deep in Japs heart they know Korea is their mother land. It was not a long ago Japs started to use Last Name. They were like barbarians living like animals killing each other. That is true history.

Koreans lived in the stone age until Japan modernized it. Korean delegates who went to US in 1861 were surprised to find that they had been considered far below blacks and equal to cows or pigs by Americans. Even today, Koreans are the only race that eat horse dung and feces as medicine.
Tong-sul, a liquor made with feces, is sold at Korean supermarkets as cure-all medicine. No other race in the world has such insane tradition.
