What a beautiful song. I love Kaito in this. It sort of reminds me of a old saying that every single thing in existence has a spirit, even though we can't see it. At the part where he sings about how he's watched over everyone, it got me a little weepy eyed.

This would make an excellent Kabuki play. Or maybe for the No theatre. The style of the song and they mask that he wears at the end are two reasons in my opinion to support that fact. Correct me if I am wrong please. I really enjoy the beauty of this song.

@AliarYamato12 It's not a bad idea, but consider how ordinary and short the play would be. For less than 3 minutes, a play-goer would watch a man in a tree costume stand on stage and sing, then put a mask on and keep singing, then it'd be over. Sure, you could fluff it up, but don't you think that much of this song's beauty is in is simplicity and conciseness? It seems to me that it's best as it is. Still, good thinking. ^_^

It is a Noh mask, it's sorta hard to explain its cultural significance in English, but basically, that one in particular is an Okina no men - Old man's mask, worn to signify that the tree is ooooold.
