it seems like this is similar to the sub-irrigated planter method. There is water underneath the medium(or seeds in this case) and the water wicks up, or is just simply evaporated into the seeds. there is also a smaller version of this device available.
@allthings509 I use mung and lentil, soak em for 12 hours, remove the water and eat them whenever i feel like it. i eat them sooner to get the most protein, but you can let the tails grow and eat it then. they taste much better then too
