All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered.

That is why they were passive. Do not think to yourself, that the uprising (even if God said to the Christians "it is ok to kill"), would have brought about much victory. Jesus WANTED TO DIE ON THE CROSS... there was no need/want of violence, even if violence was commanded in the new testament.
