I used to frequent Baker's Keyboard Lounge quite a bit when I was younger and I remember speaking a few times to this very kind gentleman, Clarence Baker. He ran a wonderful jazz club, and I miss those days very much sometimes.
Clarence Baker is a class act who added much to the musical heritage of the city of Detroit by bringing in the jazz greats of the time to his intimate club. Even though Mr. Baker no longer owns the club it is still providing now local jazz plus good food to keep the tradition alive. Any visitor to Detroit should visit Baker's for an unforgettable experience.
