The only reason he called his party socialist was because of socialism being popular in Germany after the first war because its ideals helped people to get hopes for the future and enough food and money to survive. He later stopped using the term socialist in favor of the Nazi party.

Jonah Goldberg has been discredited in his book Liberal Fascism by just about every legitimate authority on the planet. depierce, study your history. Today's conservatism is the "classic liberalism" as defined in the early 1900's. Progresives attempted to redifine terms, and re-write history. Fascism and Liberalism are not on opposite ends, the similarities would fill pages. Arm yourself and become informed - seek out differing views - the facts can be found with a little work.

There is no credible argument that liberalism and national socialism DON"T desire the same ends. Any student of history can easily come to the same conclusion.
