because her range has less high notes than a lot of girls, so it's natural for her to go to where she can sing best

besides, it helps you tell her songs from Hannah Montana songs, because "Hannah Montana" (her TV persona) always sings higher, and miley cyrus (as herself) sings in the lower, smokier part of her range.

it's just the way they/her (she cowrites some) write her solo stuff. she has different writers for her solo albums, i think (i'm not 100 percent sure, but i am about 90 percent)
