Sayuri Ishikawa, seen here covering the legendary Hibari Misora's "Omatsuri Mambo", grew up loving to sing, and being about 20 years younger than Hibari, Sayuri would attend performances of Misora san with her mother and grandmother. Ishikawa san grew up and became very successful herself, and has chalked up 32 appearances on the annual NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen show.
Just for your information. As well known between her fans, Ishikawa-san saw a performance of Shimakura Chiyoko (with beautiful violet kimono) in Kumamoto when she was a child, and it led her to have a dream to be a singer.
