  • Very beginning sounds like its gonna be St James Infirmary Blues.

  • love!

  • One of my favorite, if not, my favorite White Stripes B-Sides

  • @iluvjackwhitemost More epic with the Youtube snow by the way

  • This is a cover of Jerry Samuels aka Napoleon XIV song better said

  • I hate when people compare jack white to god, i mean hes cool and all... But no jack white.

  • he looks a bit like a mehican keanu reaves

  • nice...very nice

  • Never heard Jack use a wah wah pedal before...badass.

  • my lovely jack looks like made of wax..

  • damnit jack quit it with all the hidden covers , I'll never keep up with all your songs

  • this has more views than the original. and the original is better

  • Jack's voice and guitar solo sounds better, but the greenhornes original is better

  • Doesn't Anyone Know That This Song Was Not On The Album Get Behide Me Satan? This Song Was On One Of The White Stripes Single The Denial Twist Look It Up If You Don't Belive Me. Also Thanks For The Uploade Dude.

  • cant believe they broke up...they've been my first and favorite band since i was in 2nd grade...

  • If satan does exist, he'd do well to dress like Jack in the picture here.

  • jack looks so good, he's looks deliciously sinful...

  • jack should cover ´´like a drug´´ from the dessert sessions. or ´´grind my bones ´´from brmc. or maybe ´´bobby´´ from johnossi.

  • jack should cover ´´like a drug´´ from the dessert sessions. or ´´grind my bones ´´from brmc.

  • Love it!! :D

P.S. the picture goes perfectly lol

  • holy hell ... I frackin love this

  • i never hear this song, it's amazing!

  • meg looks really pretty here. jack looks like satan.

  • @odieburger12 Ha the imaginarium tom waits satan perhaps haha

  • @JellyBellySmalls Haha that's pretty much who I had in mind!

  • It haves a good beat. Yeah !!

  • This song is fucking mind blowing. End of story.

  • what is that magnificent noise at the end of the song?

  • This song is intense...

  • even tho its a cover..this is one of my fave white stripes songs ever!!!! woo!

  • just got this on vinyl sounds amazing, great song, totally different to the greenhornes version

but i like the "jack white" twist

  • Absolutely...awesome.

  • the very beginning sounds alot like St James Infermary Blues

  • sounds great especially at the end

  • It's a Greenhornes cover...

  • sounds a bit like a twisted Beatles song..I don't know why. The chorus sounds sweet but with sort of like the Jack White twist. And a more depressing tone. Amazing solo..

  • i see why you say that

  • This is also on Denial Twist CD single, never heard of Get Behind Me Alternate...

  • haha in every album cover they looked stoned out of their minds but not this one

  • if anyone has the white stripes b-sides can you message me your msn address so you can send them to me, cheers.

  • its 183 mb, would be a long time..

  • no it wouldn't newb

  • ok.

  • meg looks really pretty there

  • she always does lol

  • meg looks great on this photo

  • The Greenhornes playing this live was amazing! Im so glad I found the stripes cover.

  • Do I hear a wah-wah pedal??????

  • yes

  • fail you

  • Meg looks seductive. Excellent work here

  • his hair is the best

  • they make great music thats all what counts!

  • Jack and Wah wah)))) cool

  • fascinating how he can make those simple words get to a huge power and makes u shiver

  • best band for the past 10 years period. who disagrees....... shut up

  • I do agree, but to be fair, it hasnt been 10 years yet.

  • Yes it has they started in '97.

  • Their first album came out in 1999-2000 if Im not mistaken

  • Yeah it came out in '99, but they started in '97, because they had a big deal in summer of '07 about their 10 year anniversary.

  • So, ten years of band, almost ten years of albums

  • yeah i cant wait until the new album, but jack white and thom yorke are teaming up.

  • Any release date yet?

  • not for the new stripes album, but i know the jack and thom thing is soon.

  • That should be pretty cool, I can totally picture them together!

  • yeah it should be badass. imagine what it would be like if they put les claypool on bass

  • Itd be like have a band of the best singers guitarist and bassist, etc. of the past 10 or so years!

  • yeah thats what i was thinking. but then there is drums left. hmm, travis barker maybe if he played a genre that would fit in better with the other 3.

  • Duh, Meg White!

  • megs pretty good, but i cant consider the best drummer of the past 10 years, although she is good.

  • Who would you pick then?

  • If you cont dave grohl, then dave grohl, because about 5 years back he did every instrument for foo fighters including drums.

  • that would count, we're going for the best over the past ten years

  • well then that would be an awesome band.

  • But of course, theyd have to be friendly

  • Completely agree, that's why my channel is dedicated to them with a bunch of videos about them. And I play guitar mostly because of Jack White.

  • @83king i wont disagree but the black keys and the greenhornes are up there and maybe wooden shjips

  • @83king and MGMT....

  • @83king I agree. they are the best and always will be.

  • LOVE THIS

  • Great! Nice cover, but I i like the original version from the greenhornes much more!

  • i agree. greenhornes live is, or was, the shit. hoepefully they will be back

  • i would appreciate it so much if you could send this audio to me...i cant find it anywhere and iv searched for hours literally...

    please?

    findingemo93@yahoo

    thank you so much

  • The beginning always sounds like St. James Infirmary Blues

  • well jack white is the best musician of this time.

    and his wife is hott.

  • the photo is from the Rolling Stone cover shoot.

    not the album GBMS.

  • well, i never mentioned that.

  • @HacoWhite

"ps: the pic is the cover of the record so if you go and search for it look for this."

  • @jennfoster Cool story bro

  • jack was in the movie Cold Mountain

hahaha its hilarious when you notice its him

all of their songs sound different and are all really good

    love emmm

  • meg looks really hot in this picture

    WOW

i love the white stripes and the raconteurs

  • ya agreed

  • STOP ARGUING OVER WHICH ALBUMS ARE THE BEST! THEYRE ALL AMAZING! AND NONE ARe 'THE BEST' ALL YOUR COMMENTS R OPINIONATED (Dumbasses) But i think Elephant would b MY fave and Icky Thump

  • DAMN HARDCORE BUT EMOTIONAL

  • why did ur comment get all those munises???

  • idk buncha assholes i gues, but i think i have a rather good point

  • i love all the albums.

  • Awesome, love 'm doing this!

And Jack sounds so incredible, undiscribable sexy.

  • it does sound sexy, emotional, and hardcore...

  • LOL COINCIDENCE? ONE OF HIS RACONTEUR BANDMATES (Pat Keeler & I THINK Jack Lawrence was in it 2) were in the Greenhornes!

  • As much as i love the Greenhornes..... Jack White just knows what to do

  • get behind me satan is my favorite album,i wish jack would cover more songs like this,i've heard him cover beck and the yeah, yeah, yeahs live and they sound great!i wish he would just get around to releasing them on record,i don't know about you but those conquest singles were not my cup of tea,the singles from elephant and get behind me satan were his best because they were unlike the originals, they were much better in fact,i just wish he would go back to the basics, that is what made him famous.

  • the conquest singles grow on you. cash bag complications on the matter is one of my favorite by them.

  • Love this song! Heard the Greenhornes do it and it was good. Then saw the entry for the WS and thought...let's see how they do it. WOW! WOW! Great song, but greater version. That's why Jack's the man!

  • This is off the Denial Twist single as a B side

  • This song is friggin insane! :D Love it !

  • they don't age huh!

  • Obviously they do. icky thump is their worst record until now. right, i don't like it.

  • that's right. I don't like icky thump. gbms was the best album.

  • No love for White Blood Cells? GBMS as best album? I don't know--that was his whole Renee Zellweger phase... I suppose debates could go on and on about which album is their "best", but it seems to depend on what people are looking for out of an album. (and for the record, I happen to like Icky Thump). :-)

  • best listening album: gbms

best album to play along with guitar: wbc

    ;D

  • what about elephant?! :O how dare you! lol jk. I still love Elephant!

  • nah. Elephant is much too mainstream. sorry.

  • i think that its possible for some songs that werent made to be mainstream can have enough potential to achieve mainstream status without trying. just my opinion.

  • Yes! White Blood Cells just might be my favorite-althought it's TOO hard to name a favorite! :) :) :)

  • gbms was my least favorite (which, i detest to say "least favorite" when it comes to jack and meg- all of their material is amazing)- however, with that said, "The White Stripes" was their best album.

    period.

  • jennfoster--

the press for Icky Thump noted that particular album was the most 'Detroit' sounding one since their self-titled one. I wonder, would you agree with that (I ask since you note their first one is their best)? Just curious to get your thoughts on that. :-)

  • i would say that icky thump was most definitely a breath of fresh air. i think it's difficult to say what is 'detroit' of theirs and what isn't, simply because they are from detroit!-

    however, i understand the idea.

i guess i'd have to agree with it. white blood cells was pretty 'detroit' as well!

    :]]

    thanks for asking!

the point of the matter is, whatever jack and meg decide to create will always be magical.

  • I really didnt like icky thump even half as much as their first 5.

  • the only song on icky thump that i actually dont like is um...is number 6 like st. andrew er w.e its called. but all the other songs r cool. but ye. gbms was a lil better.

  • I like St. Andrew. For me, it's number 5--Bone Broke--that I don't really care for from that album. oh well oh well.

  • De Stijl is their best imo

  • yes. that's true. that's a great blues/folk album.

the southern can is mine is a nice song :D

  • hhmm I like elephant and gbms the best. white blood cells is probably my least favourite though

  • @thomasaburnham white blood cells is their best!

  • HacoWhite, you dont have to send it to anybody, anyway, i've got not hacking program by which i can get every song! it's called...

ask me, if you want. :D

  • michalkooz33 got a prog. which can record every sound on his PC... Pretty useful.. =)

  • have you seen that?

    nice, isnt it?

  • What does this mean If soem guy said this to you? The lyrics? To you...what does it mean? Plz Tell!

  • awesome

  • DONT YOU WALKK AWAYYYYY

Rarar I just dribbled out of the wrong end.

  • its from the greenhornes! great band, too!!!

  • Ow, the Greenhornes! Nice!! I thought originally from Willi Nelson :) LOVE THE SONG!!
