why the hell do people use anime shows in their demos of how to convert mkv? you're a grown fucking man and there actually are people out there who don't give a fuck about cartoons!!!
@seetherfan1328 1st of all are animes a huge artform with a serious amount of fans, 2nd; are they not "cartoons" it stands for "Animation", like f.e. in avatar, 3rd; it isnt some kind of childplay, there are animes only made for audience 18+ with serious topics. 4th; dont be so fucking ignorant, guess what, not everyone is like u and there might be things that others enjoy when u dont, in asian countries anime are well known in all ages. at last i think u are the only one here who need 2 grow up
@ tehninjarox I opened up MKVExtractGui and put the MKV file in & it came up with a file called "Chapters". When I click on the "Chapters" tab it say's "Error: Unrecognized command line option". How do i fix this error please i don't know what to do
i tried it with black rocks shooter 1080p but the mkvextractguy only extracted 995 mb of the video layer.i think this lil prog cant extract more than 1 gig :( ..is there any way to fix that? the problem is black rocks shooter 1080 AND 720p are both over 1 gig xD
When I try to 'queue' with the meGUI muxer it says 'missing input framrate' and i can't continue. I have no idea how to choose a framerate and already tried all of them but when i clicked start on the queue it told me 'error' or all of them...please help!
1. Downloaded the MKVtoolnix & installed 2. Downloaded MKVExtractGui & put the files into MKVtoolnix 3. Opened up MKVExtractGui and put the MKV file in & it came up with a file called "Chapters". When I click on the "Chapters" tab it say's "Error: Unrecognized command line option". I have tried many different MKV files like openings & movies. I have also tried downloading the later version of MKVExtract
I have done EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING and it won't extract. Is there an esaier way to explain how to install everything? And MeGUI require AviSyth or soemthing and I had to google and download that but I'm not sure if it even works! Auuggg DX
Hi. First of all, thanks for the tutorial: it's really useful. But I had a problem... I could demux my mkv video and remux it to mp4. I'm using vegas pro 9 64-bits and it can actually read the format and import the media but... when I'm previsualizing it (no matter if it's in the trim or in the timeline) it just don't play the video accordingly. It plays the audio perfect, but you only can see stand still pictures like each 20 seconds or so, no movement at all, so I can't edit it.
thanks for the video ,but when megui asked me to update i did but some codec called "nero acc" that the programe old me to install it but i came in rar file and i don't know where to but it
Hi so i basically did all this and the file plays fine on most players, but when i try to import it on sony vegas. It comes up as unknown format. Is there any way of fixing this?
dude this stuff WORKS... i got a mkv movie that wont read in my lcd tv, but when i tried this thing it really worked 100%... just follow the steps that said and dont forget to UPDATE the MeGUI. I'm really thankful for this tut!
man this thing saves time and especially size from converting mkv files from video converting programs. like my movie the mkv size is 1.6g but when i convert it with xilisoft video convert its damn 8g! but using this method you can get as is size and quality of the mkv
I did this, and tried to convert an episode which was 43 minutes long from mkv to mp4, and when I was done converting it, it was only 3 minutes long with no sound... I did exactly what you did.. could you please reply and tell me what I've done wrong???
Usually when something like that happens, there was a problem during extraction with mkvextract. Sometimes when placing the file into MKVextract it will fail to load all the streams fully and will only extract a partial file. Try extracting it again and then follow the rest of the steps as usual. If you still get the problem, then I'm not sure what is causing the problem.
@tehninjarox hey man, great info. I have MAC and for the life of me can't figure out how to do this, as I want to convert MKV's to a format that my xbox can play. There are programs like handshake and others but the conversion process takes hours. Would you happen to know of MAC friendly software that I can perform the same as you did above?
Thanks man, I hate it when my DVD's can't be defragmented and I have to resort to MKV files to get usable material, thanks for speed up the process I had.
everything seems fine but when I try to the finished mp4 into vegas, vegas crashes =\ it doesnt do this when any of my .flac's, or .avi's not using this process
This video is only worth anything to people who already know how to install those programs. I have no god damn clue how to make these work together, there is no install guide, no help files.
I think you would like the anime Chaos Head and Higurashi. Chaos Head is about a guy how has delusion, and a killer has been murdering people. It's a fight to know what's a delusion, what's reality, and to find the killer. To be honest It was hard for me to figure out what was a delusion and not.
Higurashi is about a boy that recently moved to a small town. He learns on day that a horrible accident was in the town. He needs to find the killer, but there is a huge twist at the end.
@10j35u5 Angel Beats is an ok show. Its about a school in the afterlife and a very haruhi like girl rebelling against authority. I mostly use it for the band/concert type scenes since they have a few episodes with that. I've been recommending people to watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica lately, which is a dark take on the magical girl genre and surprisingly super awesome. I'm currently making a madoka amv and it should be done soon, and hopefully will turn out epic.
@tehninjarox i got a problem with the MEGUI. So I follow what you do in the video and I split a video (1080p Dimensions) and I maux it with the MEGUI but it wont play in VLC, WMP, Quicktime, any suggestion?
@10j35u5 What kind of file are you getting when you demux it from the MKV? Most of the time they're h.264 file streams since thats the most popular, but it could be encoded into any number of different things. You probably need to either update that particular codec or it might be in a format that .mp4 can't handle at all or very well.
@10j35u5 AVC is another way to describe h.264. I would try to demux the file again and then remux it, sometimes the extract tool fails to do a good job and makes either a partial or corrupted file. If it still doesn't work try updating your h.264 codecs or try and m2ts file which handles HD AVC files but should work generally the same as an .mp4. If none of these work at all, it might have to do with the original encoding of the video stream and can't do much with it then.
ok,I've managed to do everything that you showed in the video, but, when I opened sony vegas and import the clip into it,the only one that showed up is the audio though I usually used MPEG-4 clips to edit,so I convert it again using youtube downloader and after that both of the audio and video shows up but the bytes are too big and it might takes a while,is there anything that you can help me opening the clips just after I convert it using MeGui? :)
@ordomigato Ogg Vorbis Streams can be annoying sometimes. Try converting the Ogg file into an mp3 or other audio steam file type and it should work. There are tons of different converters for that so googling "Convert ogg to mp3" should find you a free converter. If that doesn't work let me know and I can give you some info on alternate methods of conversion that might work better with ogm or ogg files.
@tehninjarox well i was able to convert it to mp3 but now i can/t edit the video in sony vegas. It is mp4 and it won't let me make the video avi D: Dunno why im having so many probs. My codecs are all updated to the best the can be but still.
kk, I just want to see if it might have something to do with the original encoding that is messing it up. If its just the original file being stubborn when trying to be put into conversion programs and not coming out right I can just upload mine for you to download. I've had a few files occassionaly that refuse to be opened up in any kind of conversion program or won't convert very well if they do go in.
Thanks Jesus... I mean tehninjarox .. well Im sure your the same person.
