The M3 CSL was a fantastic car that took the E 46 M3 to a new level. It was light and uncompromized, but most owners added back some of the weight BMW had pared down with comfort seats and airconditioning. The gearbox on the M3 CSL though was good only for fast progress. The SMG paddle operated box was not as fluid as the manual box on the standard M3. A fabulous car though.
