michael crawrford, colm wilkinson, even john cudia all shit on gerard butler. POTO is meant for the stage not for the screen, the magic and presence felt from a live performance dwarfs that of a movie. moreover, butlers voice was most likely digitally enhanced...honestly do you think he can hit that high A flat flawlessy? It will NEVER have the same effect as a live performance, and I think Gerard Butler did as well as he could for the CINEMATIC version of the story. Well I don't know. In terms of voice and music I choose Michael Crawford who played the Phantom in the original london cast but acting wise and visually Butler is awesome! The movie makes him much more masculine and cool in a sense.

Michael Crawford was definetly a HOT PHantom as well! Actually know one should comment on either guy if they hav'nt seen a whole performance of either. I have sat thru the movie once and saw Mike live in N.Y. and because of that performance went to see him live in L.A.. And after seeing Michael actually perform the role he would have made a hell of a great movie "Phantom". I've also met him in person and he is extremely adorable and a huge sweetie.
