  • I love cicadas. I left my home in Georgia for Alaska and I was thinking how I miss their music.

  • These are definitely Midwestern US cicadas. I grew up listening to them, and watching them when I could. I'm quite fond of these creatures. Admittedly, they don't look like something you'd want to cuddle, but they're amazing and incredibly docile: cute in a very "alien" way. If you squeeze one, very gently, it'll sing, provided its a male. The females don't sing. The sound you hear is the mating call of the male cicada.

  • "they are the most disgusting things I have ever seen and heard in my life"

i was screaming this to my mom and brother...well done!

btw:those little cicock fuckers should be extincted!

  • I come from South Dakota where cicadas are an integral part of the evenings in, if I recall correctly, June, July and August. I moved to the mountains fifteen years ago and don't miss South Dakota at all except for the cicadas--well, and family of course. This quick video made me feel right at home for 34 seconds. Thanks!

  • That's how they sound here, just wish the bugs were not so... scary when they fly into your house.

  • I'm sad to hear you find them disgusting. Their song is one of the few things I love about summer.

  • Cicadas are a fascinating and beautiful sound if you are in touch with nature. They only come out like this every 7 to 15 years according to the variety.

  • well yeah I am lucky, but actually cicadas are so ugly looking, I was frightened once when I saw them, my my

  • I think you are lucky to heard cicadas even once in nature, where i live its coun tryside but in country there is only grasschoppers.

  • Ohh, well so cicadas from this video are in Washington DC, North America, I would like to hear French ones, with accent

  • Well there are different cicadas, I think for example they can be found in France and in Japan, so not all cicadas sounds the same.

  • I think this sound is scary

I was in the forest enjoying the weather

But these bugs wouldn't let me:_(

  • that's just a common cicada

if the sound u r referring to sounds like
